Not really. Anyone running, regardless of their political stripe, will have to run as "Not-Bush." Oops, I mean "Not Obama."

Democrats have to do so by being against Obama's policies without invoking him personally. "Wrong direction" generically speaking is very high. Saying "I have a different direction" even if it is farther in the wrong direction will not matter to the Meme-driven center, which is what elections are now about. Courting the least informed.

Except Obama hasn't been a disaster it's really more a matter of if he can get the supposedly left leaning media to start crowing for him.

They don't seem to be willing. They could crow about gas prices, the stock market, the end of wars, oil production. And yeah you can claim that Obama didn't do anything (though several posters have shown that to be untrue. At the worst he didn't stop them) but we're talking about the media. They could credit Obama with the success of the Avengers and it would stick with 51% of Americans. They just haven't.

Of course they honestly have no reason to. They like money and controversy creates cash. There is a good damn reason why Romney was presented as a contender when anybody with eyes knew Obama had won.

You want to bet this years Republican primary will be much less chaotic than 2012?

None of the posters "showed that to be untrue." Several made grasping attempts at reframing the argument, "Prove he didn't have magic that caused this in the absence of any affirmative policy to increase production."

You are correct. At best, he did no harm, to the energy sector generally. The energy sector is responsible for the direction of growth being positive rather than a double dip recession, and the stock-market is inflated by pretend money from the Fed loaned to major institutions at zero percent interest.

At the very least he didn't prevent it. IT would have been as simple as saying "no" to make shit hell.

The pretend money (all money is pretend) ended in October. We still seem to be here.

Japan bombed our territory, tortured our soldiers, and generally fucked over the Pacific rim for quite a few years. We normalized pretty quickly with them as I recall.
