Dark Isle 2

Javen

I look her over cautiously.
An outcast...a former friend but current enemy of Volmorth. I was curious.
I nodded.
"Okay, I will walk with you," I replied. "But you must tell me what I want to know, and promise not to waste my time more than necessary."

Phobe

'I will tell you all you ask, if i know the answer...'

'as for wasting time, I still have plenty of time to help her later' moving my hand to point to the young girl, 'she'll live many years yet'

grasping his arm and moving towards the door, I lead him out and into the woods

staring at his every move. studing him for his first question

Javen

"You know Volmorth, or at least he knows you, if you've been exiled. But why for speaking with my kind? Nearly all have spoken with me, and I've no recollection of you. You've heard of me?" I asked.

Phobe

'I saw you once before, when i was young...' i spoke quietly.

'You look very much the same, i believe...'

'I do know Volmorth, he is close to my family. My mothers' kin i think. I paid no attention to him. I was never around when he visited. He knew of me but not me.' i sighed.. ' he was like an invisible uncle to my mother.. protector i would say'

'my mother did not want to be a vampire. she had lived before. Said she missed the sunrise and sunset.'

looking at the moon and the stars, amazed at their beauty.

'she never wanted me. she was forced to breed. with a fullblood named Krye' i went on.

'she tried several times to terminate my birth, but my father and Volmorth were careful of her and kept her sedated'

letting Javen's hand go and twirling about in circles. feeling the wind on my skin... light and feeling as if I was almost drunk.

Remembering my nice drink, so sweet. sitting on the ground, in the thick dark green grass.. feeling it stick where the dew was starting...

pulling up the thin material and sitting with my legs open to the air.. running my fingers over my bare legs...

'sit with me please' i ask 'we can talk more'

Javen

I was truly intrigued by then. SHe'd played some odd game with the girl, which had bothered me, thinkig it some tormented cruel game like Volmorth would play with the living from time to time, making them revel in their future demise, to cry and beg for their lives. Instead, she intended to save the girl's mortality and send her back to her own kind. Something I'd wished myself capable of doing from time to time, in cases like that of Celeste, who'd turned on me in no time after I'd made her, and the girl in the woods that I'd spied the night before near the church.
I sat with the girl.
"The question is...would you like to rejoin your kind?"

Reuben

As the sun set, I found my way out of the caves, Dedric close behind me, and thought back to the night before. The shack, with the metal door. There had to be some way inside. There could have been whole families living down there, a feast awaiting my arrival.
As I sniffed my way through the woods, searching for familiar smells, I wandered through the trees in search of the place.

OOC: sorry, couldn't think of any other way t move this forward...I know, lame post...

Phobe

'do i want to rejoin my kind' shaking my head, ' no i do not wish to, i am not wanted'

'please sit with me... i would like to hear more about you.. about how you know so much'

pulling my knees to my chest, and proping my elbows up..

'i would love to hear what you think of my kind, how we are all merciless and heartless...'

'i know you think i am different, what makes you so sure?'

smiling and moving to stand. Moving towards Javen touching his broad shoulders, and his arms.

Smiling slyly. 'come sit with me... please' i asked

'let's talk more about you'

'more about how you were made and where you are from, how old are you' I smiled

Javen

I debate leaving, wanting to get to the church before it grows too late, but I decide instead that it is best to sit and talk with her. I was curious, and my infatuation with the girl I'd attacked was growing to be a concern. Humans were food. It was about time i began to accept them as such. But I knew better, given that i was one once, than to think that I'd accept the idea so easily.
"I'm a shade over two-hundred years old. I was born in Pittsburgh, where I grew up and became a guitarist, though i never made it big. I played with a few garage bands, but nonemade it anywhere, save the local bar scene. I was made in a club owned and operated by my mother of sorts, Jade. She taught me the ways of the night, and retaught me the kindness and mercy that goes with being a vampire, taught me to remember my roots, that the people we killed deserved to be treated kindly and were on the planet for their own purposes. At that time, the fueds were..." I trailed off, realizing I was rambling. It'd been too long since I'd thought about the past, especially so far back.
"I donot hate your kind, or find them all to be ruthless and evil. But many have taken to Volmorth's way of thinking and followed his lead. That is why he is called the Prince of Bloods. Since my Making, I have been known as the Prince of the Half-Bloods, his opposite. Naturally, no one rules either kind, but the influence we have can amaze me sometimes."
I look at her. "If you return, you don't have to be as they are...Jade is a Blood, and so is Beldic. He's a religious figure at that, one of peace and faith, though neither of them is shy of hated by Volmorth himself."
"ANd what of you? how old are you? What will become of you here?"

Teril:
Catching him completely off guard, she stepped forward so that they were almost touching and ran her hand up his chest beneath his shirt, stopping at the makeshift bandage. She smiled, her face close to his, looking toward her hand outlined by the soft material of his shirt. "Yes, that is where I remember you being wounded when you fled from the bar. You are not so very much like me after all, are you?"

The warmth of his skin against her palm was wonderfully sensual, she could feel a strange energy pulsing through him, could feel it throbbing beneath her hand. She lowered her head, letting her cheek rest against his chest as her hand caressed him, drawn to this mysterious power she could feel coursing beneath his skin, pounding in her ears so loudly now that it was almost overwhelming.

His heartbeat. At the realization of what she was listening to, she jerked away from him as though stung. She backed up until the stone wall prevented further retreat, forcing the sound from her consciousness as she had forced out the earlier sights.

Phobe

'well i am from baton rouge, louisania' i smiled

'I was born there and i am 20 years old. I used to play with several half's like you, but my mother, Nadia, was a whore made by Volmorth'

'I guess he just wanted a meal, but couldn't help himself. my father, kyre, was born full blood. he took a likeing to my mother and V gave permission for him to have her.'

moving and resituating i hiked up the gown and tied it in a not.

'do you think i am pretty, i have never looked other than a pool of water and it's rippled'

His head hung low as she stepped away. "Listen Teril, I'm sorry I decieved you but it's important you don't tell anyone about me." He stared into her eyes deeply, "I have come here to train under Father Johnathan and I am somewhat of a holy man in my homeland but I have another reason for visiting the isle." He held her hand, feeling her soft skin. "My younger brother Lucas visited the island last year after being exiled from our kingdom. I have finally convinced our king to allow him back in our society but he hasn't returned. I came to the isle to try and find him and I figured if I hung around the church or other common areas I could find some information about him. I'll understand if you want me to leave before anyone notices."

Javen

Was she kidding?
I looked her over again, wondering if she was sincere. Given the look in her eyes, she meant the question, and hadno idea how she appeared.
"Clearly, Volmorth has not instilled in you the truth of our kind. We are all beautiful, in our own way, and yours shines brightly around you..." I trailed off, realizing how awkward that must sound. "Come with me to see Jade later tonight," I insisted. "SHe will surely have the answer for you. You cannot remain isolated like this."

Phobe

nodding i agreed to meet jade...

'after i take the girl to her people.. they must take care of her for the next day or so' i said..

standing I walked around in circles.. dancing with the trees...

Teril:
Realizing Theo was speaking again, she shook her head in an effort to clear her mind and focus on his words. "Leave? No, I don't want you to leave Theo. It doesn't bother me that you are a werebeast, maybe before it would have, but not now. I think...it might be good to have you around."

"Thank you, Teril. Truth be known I enjoy our conversations. Now that I've told you about Lucas, have you seen any black men in leather lately? Or perhaps a panther man?"

OOC: At the end of Dark Isle one Lucas became stuck in a pure panther form and disappeared into the jungle.

Teril:
"No, I have not seen any werecats, other than you that is, and no black men either. You should talk to those living on the edge of town, many of them make their living in the woods hunting and trapping, they'd be more likely to have seen something." She looked at him curiously, "If he is your brother how is it that he is black and you're not?"

"I should clarify, my beliefs teach me that all were creatures are my kin and we are one giant clan. Though Lucas and I aren't biologically related, we are brothers in spirit." Theo turned ihs attention to the forest around them, "I suppose tommorow morning I will begin question the residents at the edge of town. Your welcome to come if you wish, but I think I can manage this on my own."

Teril:
"He must be very important to you for you to have risked your life to come find him. I hope that you find something to help you tomorrow." She looked around in the darkness again, her new sight trying to force its way to her consciousness again, reveal what she did not want to see, she shivered.

"We should go back in Theo, it is not safe out here."

"alright, it looks as if they have enough guards for tonight. shall we?"

Javen

I watch as she dances, enticed by her movements to remember other wants than feeding, but I resist my urge to try and persuade her. I wait until she finishes her brief dance, then say. "Let us take the girl to the church, and be on our way."

Phobe

spinning around to face Javen. 'Ok let's go' i said slowly.

walking to his side we went back towards the manson, and inside.
Looking at the girl she was breathing steady and flush with color. picking her up in my arms like a baby, I turned on my heel and we went back towards the chruch, him at my side.

'so what is she like... Jade that is' i asked

looking at him for the answer.

Javen

"Jade...she's like none I would have chanced to meet, were she not my mother. Had another made me, I would be just as Volmorth is...spiteful, hateful, raging out of control at times. She tamed my nerves, calmed my instincts so I could control them..."
I thought back for a moment to when she'd made me, waking in the back of her club on a bed large and shouded by a near transparent curtain. I couldn't even more yet, the blood had been drained so. She hadn't done it, hadn't drained me or injured me, but had brought me to their side, gracefully.
Elaine had done the actual damage, Jade had just repaired it.
She'd been sitting opposite me in the room, eyes watching me like a hawk.
"So, my sister has brought you over?" She'd asked, standing, walking seductively over to me, her hips swinging in the same manner that had drawn me into her bed in the first place. Elaine...could I have wanted and hated anyone more?
"Jade thinks she has done well to bring you across, but I believe she has mistaken..." She'd explained. "And until you convince me, I will make your existance a living hell..."
"Elaine," Jade's voice, calm and sweet, floated across the room to the two of us. "Leave our guest to get his rest. He'll need his strangth in the days ahead. You know that."
Elaine was angry, but obeyed her sister for just then. She'd exited in haste, eyeing her sister en route to the door.
As she left, Jade walked over to me, and knelt next to the bed.
"Remember, Javen," she began.
"My name is..." I muttered.
"Your name is Javen," she corrected. "You are not who you were just days ago. Now, you are Javen, and you will be my son."
I quieted, then thinking she was insane.
"Remember," she said again, "That you are only one being among many, and that all are your equal. None live above your greatness, and none below, but all survive in a line. Those we hunt, and those that hunt us, alike. Never forget that."
As I dwelled on those words, walking through the halls of the mansion with Phobe, I smiled.
"You will likeJade, I can assure you..."

Phobe

'She sounds like a very nice person' I said.

'I wish I had had someone to protect me like that' i sigheed
walking at a slowed pace and wrapping my arm around Javen.

He seemed rock hard . like a statue. unlike humans who bended and molded to others.

'Well i hope i don't upset her' i said shyly

Teril:
"Yes, but before we go in, tell me, were you born a werebeast Theo? Or did you change into one?"

There was something more than just curiosity in her hazel eyes: there seemed to be an unspoken urgency behind her gaze.

Theo

"I was born this way, Teril, though I didn't manifest until I was 15. In my homeland many people are 3rd and 4th generation were." Teril's attitude had definatly changed, she seemed eager to hear about his life now. He casually placed his left hand on her shoulder, "Look Teril, I'm not one of the ravaging werewolves that you'd see in old movies or hear about from the town drunk, I'm just Theo. Do you want to get a cup of tea and talk for a little more?"
