Darmus By Night

Kylissa

Pleased that she hadn't been noticed, she shadowed the group from deeper in the forest.

Valdimer

Giving his horse an aggressive kick to it's flanks, Stonewall reared...and luanched off, Val pulling his cloak tightly around him. Looking back to make sure the rest followed, Val's thoughts went to the dragon......and the bloodstone........

Orion looked around as a feeling of Deja Vu overtook him. "I was here before...but when...and why..." He motioned his undead horse to rise from the earth and followed Valdimer

Cervantes:

Slumping his shoulders forward, Cervantes growled, after several hours of riding. Just ahead of them was the dragon's lair. It was not hidden, and quite obvious in the appature of its entrance that the dragon that lay inside was nothing short of a mountain in and of itself. "Bout fuckin time..." Cervantes grumbled as he hopped off his horse. "Lets go ki... Um..." Looking over to Thorne, he continued. "Reason with this bloody reptile..."

Thorne:

Rousing slightly, Thorne sat up with a soft sigh. She looked at the cave with trepidation written on her face.
"Do we know anything about where the bloodstone might be located, or what the dragon's weaknesses? Or do I just treat this as "big dragon, get us in, get us out"?"

With those words, she looked over at Valdimer and Cervantes, her eyes returning to their normal calm gaze.

Cervantes:

"Big dragon, in and out..." Cervantes shot over his shoulder as he slipped into the first shadows of the cave.

Orion (who is still standing right there) asked sheepishly, "Any of you ever deal with a 'big dragon'?" He then turned to Thorne and asked her directly, "How do we go about this should we all rush in at once?"

Lavin dismounted, drawing both of his massive swords and looking directly into his mount's eyes. "Stay here, if I come out, be ready, if something else comes out, run before you're a snack." He turned and looked at the others. "If we get into a fight with this thing... Please, for your sake and mine, don't get between me and the beast...." He drew up against the wall of the cave, seeming to melt into the shadows and lightly taking his lower lip between his teeth.

Thorne:

Watching the men, Thorne arched an eyebrow as Cervantes and Lavin started walking towards the cave. She suppressed a smile and pitched her voice to where they could just hear her tone, calm, with a touch of bemusement.

"Um, boys, before you become roast human kabobs, how about letting this little girl "reason" with the dragon? Or ready a powerful sleeping spell so this dragon doesn't immitate a volcano with good aim. Either works for me."

She sat there, calmly leaning on Talesin's neck, waiting for Cervantes and Lavin to react to her words.

Orion turned away from Thorne after the only response he had recieved was the chirpping of crickets. "OOOk, how about you Lavin? How exactly do we deal with this creature?"

Lavin distantly noticed that the cloaked one of the party was speaking to him. The back of his mind interpereted the words and finally sent them to the front. He turned momentarily to look at the cloaked one. "Hsst." he whispered, just audible. "Do not wake the dragon if it is asleep, do not alert it to us if it is awake.."

Orion knodded, it sounded like sound advice. Then he got an idea, he turned to Lavin, Cervantes, and Validimer. "Since I'm already dead, and pretty much can't be killed again if the dragon is awake should I distract him while all of you attack? I can take a little heat."

Valdimer

Dismouting, Val pulled out his two handed sword, and followed close behind Cervantes. Listening to the talk of the rest of the party, Val let out a sigh. "Regardless of what we do, we need to be prepared...for anything. And Orion? You'd be incinerated. Become ash...dust in the wind..ya know?" Val said, giving him a pat on the back. "We cant have that....at least we should try not to lose anyone. Stick close. Thorne...it would probably be in your best interests to stay in the middle of the group, so less harm comes to you. Me and Cervantes can take lead...Lavin and Orion...take the rear. If you hear ANYTHING....slice. Relic only knows what's lurking in here."

Keeping out of the sunlight, Val pulled the hood off his cloak, and pushed further into the cave, the blood stone and the dragon on the front of his mind..........

Orion drew his sword and prepared to follow the group into the cave.

Cervantes:

Twitching each time those fools mentioned being burned to a crisp, Cervantes tried to ignore their stupid assumptions. That is... Until Val said it to. At that, he jerked to a stop, turned, marched up to Val and SMACKED him. "They spid corosive gas ya stupid shit. I mean, you of all people should have known that! Yeesh!" And with that, he headed back for the cave.

Thorne:

Shaking her head, Thorne quickly dismounted and tossed Talesin's reins about a nearby tree. Tying them off quickly, she started walking after the rest of the group, her hands already reacing for her pouch. She brought out her primary spell book and found the small silver page marker she had on the deep sleep spell.

"All right, let's go cure one dragon of a case of insomnia. So we don't get turned into shadows of our former selves by Corrosive Gas as administered by our host."

With that she walked passed Valdimer and Cervantes, trying to get the group moving before they started bickering again.

Lavin quickly fell into step with the magess, bringing up the rear as ordered. He kept his eyes and ears wide open, having heard that sometimes certain dragons had henchmen to take out weaker attackers. Well, he knew his own strength, and judged this party to be the finest he'd ever traveled with already, so that wasn't going to be a problem.. But a dragon.. He'd never even Seen a dragon before, let alone fought one. He just hoped he'd figure out where to hit it if the woman's spells didn't work out.

Caustus the Black

The great dragon slept, dreaming of soaring through wide-open skies, his mate, Arheila at his side, swooping down to wreak havoc on the scurrying forms below. It was only here, in the dreamrealm, that Caustus could be with his mate, for she had been slain by the sneaking, crawling, loathsome apes that infested the world these days. Gleefully, the pair would ravage the dream countryside, leaving terror in their wake, as dragons are wont to do. Here, in the dreamrealm, Arheila yet lived, and Caustus was at peace.

Woe betide any creature that dares disturb Caustus' blissful sleep...
