Dear Fleas,

Today was only phase one in my diabolical plan for your mass genocide in my apartment. Yes, the cat is now toxic. Hop on her and die, motherfuckers.

I've already vacuumed up some of you and your dying offspring from my carpet and laughed maniacally as I did so.

Of course, should you choose to hop on out through the window screen tonight, I will allow you to leave with your lives. I am capable of mercy.

Should you not choose to leave of your own will, Wednesday afternoon phase two of my plan will be implemented. The cat and I will vacate the premises and my minions in scary masks will enter, bringing a plague of biblical proportions. You will suffocate and die- all of you- for your unauthorized entrance into my home.

Don't fuck with The Doll

Molly!!! LMFAO - that is too funny!! Good luck in your war against the fleas!!

Dear self,

Hang in there man. The procedure is at 330. Just grip the sides of the table and cuss loudly until you get through this. Then plan on the next stage. Bottom line is you are too young to be dealing with this bullshit, but these are the cards you have been dealt. So quit whining and just fight through it.

I have never allowed anything to beat me without a strong fight. Now isn't the time to stop doing that. I have a wife and a job that depends on me. Yeah this sucks. Yeah this isn't the ideal situation but there are a lot worse out there.

Just quit wallowing. You are better than this. So suck it up buttercup. This is going to suck, it is going to hurt worse than almost anything but you can't get better until you go through the procedure today.

Get through it man. Just get through it. It is ok to be scared, it is even better to overcome that fear and triumph. That is exactly what you are going to do. Triumph.

Dear IHC,

I like and admire your attitude. No false bravery, but a solid determination to stick it through for the motivations in your life which make the end game important.
You're da man!
Wishing you all the best - and those fucking stones the worst! May their departure from this world be quick and easy!

Dear LF...

I only ever met you once, but you repulse and disgust me. Just when you KNOW your spouse is considering divorcing you, you discover you are pregnant. Lemme ask why aren't you going to terminate this pregnancy just like you've done THREE times before?! You use abortion as a form of birth control when you really should just shut your legs, OR actually USE birth control!!!

Why is it that this baby deserves to live, but the other three didn't? Oh let me guess b/c you viewed those babies as an inconvienence and this baby will save your marriage...well news flash honey a baby doesn't SAVE a marriage! A baby will TEST your marriage! You already know that your spouse knows that you've cheated w/ two other men, and that your first two pregnancies were from another man. Do you think he's that stupid?! I hope that he forces a paternity test, and if he does I'm SO hoping he's not the father that way he can leave your skanky ass! He deserves better than you and you fucking know it!

Consider yourself lucky that I respect your spouse b/c had I found out all this when I first met you I would've reset your clock.

NV

You know I'm here for you...as much as I'm stunned by all this I know you'll make a great father (if you are the father), but I pity the child's egg donor. I would highly suggest you go after a paternity test. She cheated on you twice, she also aborted your first child...she's an evil bitch and just remember even if the child is yours that you CAN divorce her, and if you still have the proof of her cheating I'm going to say the courts would easily side w/ you. *Hugs from across the miles*

Blood is thicker than water...Me.

Dear AA,

I'm not sure where to go from here. I never expected you to say you loved me, not like that. I'm sorry I was surprised. I am on entirely new ground here, but I'm going to figure it out. I now believe that you are entirely sincere, and I'm going to be here for you. At least as much as our complicated situation allows. I guess it's not just about sex, is it? Wow!

Dear triumpher of asshole stones,

I love your attitude and thinking of the goal is always the best way to look at it.
I wish you the best for tomorrow and I hope you are very soon pain-free.

Dear Moving Coworker,

Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.

See ya, wouldn't want to be ya.

Thank goodness.

You've gotten two people fired. TWO. We all know it too.

Good riddance

Dear X

You have a rusty nail instead of a heart and a vat of battery acid for a soul. You're nothing but a money-worshiping dick. Someday you will leave and we will all be happy.

Sincerely,

Me.

Dear women of New York:

I realize I always give you praise when I return from my day-long tour-giving of your city, but today you went all out. Except for the wind which was in evidence too much, the day was perfect and you responded. It was at times difficult to watch where one was going when one's eyes were otherwise engaged by your magnificent sight.

Skirts, dresses, and shorts combined with everything from sparkly sandals to cowboy boots made the day extremely enjoyable despite the amount of walking I always do.

That said, I would like to give shout outs to three women.

First, to the blonde on West 25th near 8th in the base-blue floral dress, :rose:. You would be near the top of the list in the Breathtaking Blonde thread. Your form was delightful to behold, your legs captivating in those heels, your hair radiant as it swayed in the breeze. You put, in my opinion, many professional models to shame. In short, a no-holds barred 10.

To the young asian woman who walked by the West 25th Street Flea Market, what an ass! Many asians are criticized for not having a rounded backside. Not you. Yours was in perfect proportion and those tight black shorts showed off those curved beauties in fantastic form.

Finally, to the blonde in the blue skirt and green top on the PATH to Hoboken. My dear, I am partial to blue and that skirt had me waging a battle between staring at both its color and its perfect height above your knees as it showed off your toned legs, and not being that creepy guy in the car who kept staring at you.

To all the unnamed ladies of New York whose sense of style has once again given me a reason to slog through my abhorrently boring life so that I may someday return to your city and gaze upon your beauty, thank you.

Body tired and eyes a goggled

Little one,

I am so sorry and so afraid this adventure is coming to an end. With the heart of a parent, the knowledge of one nearly three times your age and the cursed empathy of being an author, I can guess how it feels. You've come so far in your eighteen years with blessings, riches and gifts that will feel as empty as cup full of solar ether.

Before your head fills with the empty curses of "woulda-shoulda-coulda," let me tell you how you did everything right. You jumped through all the hoops you could find in your quest to go away to college. I know the anger, frustration and hate you feel towards your egg donor. As I said before, "Without her, there would be no you." That's as true today as the first time I said it to my strong daughter with tears in eyes that never cry.

It sucks that the college lead us to believe it was in the bag. It sucks that we went forward believing their estimates that your unique combination of scholarships, grants, loans and finacial aid brought you with $1000 of meeting your dream. How dare they now tell you, after a month of classes, "By the way, you actually owe us $4096 for this semester." Their estimates were off by 20%, simple math I know you can do in your head.

To add injury to insult, I know how hard you worked this summer, the overtime you put in at a thankless job to earn the supposed $2000 you would need for semester 1 & 2. I know how excited you were to have a job lined up before classes even started for the princely sum of $12 per hour.

I know the dream was more than just college. I know the dream was college away... away from the only place you've known as home. Away from that woman who donated the egg that created half of you. Away from the sister you never wanted. Away from the limited, country-fuck, backward, illiterant, unsophisticated, unwise, ignorant and dowright-ugly people who have filled your life from day one until now.

Excuse the tiny smile that just crept on my face. It's not a grin I think you can understand or appreciate. You're not wrong with your assessment of the people in your hometown of 1800 souls. They are all those things. They are also the friendliest, nicest, kindest people I've met. There may come a day in your life when you find yourself looking for a home much like the one we tried to give.

I was there with you on your fifteenth birthday when life was so confusing that you took a blade to your flesh and began cutting out of frustration. I was the one who sat awake all night, watching you sleep, so afraid of what else you might do to yourself without constant supervision. I was the one who spent your birthday on the phone to find you the help I couldn't give. I so remember your words, only whispered once about how I had failed you by "leaving me alone with her." I hated my job at that moment. I hated the 100 days a year when I travel. I hated every lonely moment you spent lost and confused and, well, being fifteen and different than everyone you knew.

I was also there to witness the tenacity you displayed creating a work of art. (I won't be more forthcoming than that in this forum.) The 100 hours you spent to create it. And the vision you brought the year before and the even greater vision you brought the next year. We joke about it, but you literally became world famous: celebrated across the interwebs and interviewed across the nation, including at least one national broadcast.

I've seen you cry three times in your eighteen years. The first time you were vaccinated. I can still remember the indignant look on your face as the little you looked at the doctor with shock and surprise that he would dare to hurt you like that. You never cried again receiving a shot. I saw tears the night you were convinced the creation that would bring you national notice wasn't going to work. And I saw the tears when the egg donor said those hateful things to you that one night when the paper you wrote wasn't working.

You don't know how to cry and I get that. I don't either. I cried once when I lost my parents. Just that one time. It wasn't enough.

So here's the lessons I think you're about to learn. Life can suck. Life can be the hardest thing you've ever done with yourself. It ain't easy, it ain't always fun and don't even ask me about how it ends because the ending truly sucks, too.

This is going to feel like a huge setback. This is going to feel like a failure. This is going to feel as if your world ended. It's none of the above. This is a bump in the road of life. It's the story your children and grandchildren will get tired of hearing. This is the beginning of the story of one who doesn't know how to quit and the dad who never stopped cheering you on. You can do this, whatever "this" turns out to be.

Free hugs anytime you need them!

Dad

Dear sister who I love with all my heart,

You pull yourself through this or I'll come down there and kick your ass.

Dear X (ex),

I was actually able, after 6 months, to recall a positive memory of you today.
And I cried. But I'm sure it's because I have an upper respiratory infection and I feel incredibly vulnerable right now. Not because of the 9 years I wasted believing your lies and thinking you were my Knight on an iron horse.
Why did you do this to me?

dear sister,
you really need to look at your priorities. bunco?? the demolition derby?? that's what's more important than your mother? you're going to receive a call from me tomorrow that you won't like one bit. too bad. it's time for you and our brother to step up to the plate and help take care of mom. i am going away for the weekend. you will help out with mom. i am going to start going away once a month, so you two ass wipes better talk to one another and work out a schedule. if you think it's ok for you both to go on vacation after vacation while i sit with mom, you're nuts. watch out, i'm growing balls.
signed,
i'm not your servant

Dear friend,

I remember the times we laughed and cried together and told each other that its best to only have weekend lovers because the men in our lives made us so miserable. We made it, though you only for a short moment. You left and I stayed. It could have been me but it was you. I'm so glad you came for that long visit across the ocean.

You will be missed, by me, by all those around you and mostly by your beautiful children. Remember our deal, now you're our guardian angel!!

Sending you kisses wherever you are tonight, I'm sure it's a better place than where you've been for the past year.

Love you,
Your friend, always.

Dear stool softener,

You should come with a warning label for first time users. Oh wait, you do.

Signed,

Holy Shit Batman. Literally. Holy Shit.
