Democratic Debate

Oh there is. It's a huge mudfest.

That's not debate.

Thats a bunch of busybodies all standing in a circle all screaming at once at the one liberal that dared express a dissenting opinion. They're all about diversity of thought, so long as you think exactly what they think.

I'm pretty sure they don't enforce a dress code or anything... Just don't be too flamboyant.

Who the fuck on Hannity dot com is going to vote for a Democrat....ever??? Makes as much sense as Al Sharpton trying to hustle votes at a KKK rally.

Didn't say they would. Just found it funny that I found the "coward" thing is all.

Yeah, you are right about that, but there are debates. The ratio of liberals vs. conservatives is a tad off...

Top prorities for the first 100 days:

Clinton: End the war
Obama: End the war, healthcare
Richardson: Education
Biden: End the war
Kucinich: A whole shitload of stuff
Gravel: Tell the congress to show leadership
Dodd: Restore the constitutional rights to the people.

Dodd sounds interesting.

People like rights. I myself would like the right to play with an automatic weapon.

But what people don't like are responsibilities.

A well regulated militia may well be neccessary for the defence of the Republic, but I'd rather sit on my ass and drink beer than join one of the motherfuckers.

Maybe Dodd's cunning plan is to give people the rights outlined in the constitution without requiring them to honour the duties ?

Sounds crazy, but it might just work.

:D

This is an excellent post. No true "impartial" media exists.

Which is why the boycott of Fox is all the more abhorrent.

Why can't we all admit that journalists bring their biases to the table?

Because it isn't true.

Also, it is a mistake to equte News International journalism with the homegrown American kind.

News International owns media outlets all over the world. In America it supports the Republicans through Fox, in China it supports the Communists through Star. In the UK it supported the Conservative government until it fell, then it spun on a dime and became born again Labour.

News International prospers by acting as the propaganda arm of the ruling regime, whatever that happens to be.

Well, then, I guess the Republican Party should never volunteer to go on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, etc. To do so shows weakness.

Sorry but your contention doesn't make any sense.

Are CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN propaganda arms of the Democratic party ?

I like Richardson, but he speaks out of both sides of his mouth on immigration.

Richardson declared a border "emergency" in New Mexico, but Richardson favored driving permits for illegal aliens.

Richardson is also in favor of allowing the kids of illegal aliens to be rewarded by getting college scholarships.

As a kid, Richardson was a pretty good baseball player, and he often mentions that he was a good athlete before he got so out of shape. But Richardson has been mysterious as to how he avoided military service during Vietnam.

So that's him -- easy to like, but hard to pin down.

The way I seemed to interpret that, was that his "emergency" was more about the excessive flow of illegal drugs into his state across the border and less about illegal immigrants (although, he may just be saying that after the fact). He mentioned at one point he favored a fence because he thought it would be difficult to get kilos of cocaine over it, but, he didn't really think it could prevent just illegal immigrants themselves from crossing.

Is it time to say RIP John Edwards yet?

He had me at "I'm John Edwards". That was pretty funny. After that, he just came across as smarmy.

Hah! I loved that part, too.

Obviously, no other introduction was needed, I mean, he is /John Edwards/, for chrissakes.

I can't say I was real impressed with him, and he was one of the people who seemed to continually want to hush the moderator, which annoyed me.

I think Edwards is still the same guy he was in 2004. An attractive Veep candidate but still too caught up in the tangle between politics and ideas to be a leading man.

Apparently the audience was given electronic devices on which they could respond to points made by the debaters and the representative responsible for interpretation of the data says he won. What can I say.

I still need to wait for the debate to show up on youtube. :(

Apparently Joe Biden caused a slight boner on the running graph with a couple of passionate demagogueries.

See, now I really have to see it.

According to FOX News analysts and others he won the debate.

I don't doubt it. That's almost what I'm saying. He's a smart guy with some great ideas but he isn't enough of a political player to be a serious threat. It's almost like Dean. The idea that it was his scream that ruined him is silly. Truth was he was too polarizing among democrats for him to ever gain serious traction amongst the chickenshits who run the Democratic party.
