Depression. It's a silent killer.

Injured my leg a few weeks ago, very slow to heal because I take Plavix for my heart, so other internal injuries linger. And it has been unseasonably cold in the Houston area. Usually playing golf helps me fight off depression but that has been closed out to me recently. So having some sad episodes. Managing, but I sympathize with those who are also cold-bound indoors. On the other hand, have been able to catch up on old Star Trek episodes, so that helps. Best to all...

2025 was a tough year for numerous reasons. I'm at a better place now, and hope 2026 will be a better year.
I follow this forum when I'm here, and would like to offer a listening ear if you need to talk off-forum - probably best to send me a message here first, and we'll go from there. (This to deter unnecessary PMs).
Well wishes to all who read this! 🤗

Whirlwind of abandonment issues as well as body and age insecurities. Fuck! What a weekend. I have to deal with them now because I couldn’t deal with them when they were fresh. I have support thankfully.
Be safe out there.
Love you.

From emotional whirlwind to watching a partner’s trusted community evaporate overnight. It’s been a week last weekend.

Hope you’re doing well.
Be safe out there.
Love you.

Morning. Yesterday was a day of rest for me and I needed every minute. Sleep is such a needful thing. I remember when I went days on a few hours cat nap.
Not anymore. Lol.

Hope your day is going smoothly.
Be safe out there.
Love you.

Sorry to hear that. Trust takes a lifetime to build.

And yeah, corny and trite, but a moment to destroy, regardless of how it happens.

I have an appointment with a surgeons assistant this morning and I’m hoping that there will be something that can be done. My pain level was up to 11 this morning. I can’t sustain this. Thankfully I’m in a place where I’m supported.

Hope your day goes smoothly.

Be safe out there.
Love you.

Update on the surgeon visit.
I have to get another MRI before we can proceed But it’s likely that I’ll be having back surgery sometime this year. Not something I want but I want the pain to go away.

Be safe out there.
Love you.

The demons were loud last night. I’m thankful that I have solid friends who understand.
Be safe out there.
Love you.

How is everyone doing today? I've been frustrated by my lack of SAD light. In the past month, I've been having such a hard time finding a SAD light that works. I've ordered three of them on Amazon and none of them have worked. One was too bright and gave me a headache, the other flashed on the lowest setting (which is the setting I use), and the third worked for two days then broke. I may have to ask my doctor to actually prescribe a "real" (medical-grade) SAD light. I'm peeved, though!

Are you able to get outside at all? Natural sunlight is the best prescription for me, but I know everyone’s different.

Natures vitamin D. Which is helpful for combatting depression.

It’s almost warm out comparatively (29°) and the sun is nice and strong today where I am.

Just wondering but would that help?

Thank you for your response. It's 28 degrees F here, so I'm cooped up inside. I hope that I can wake up earlier tomorrow and go on a walk to get some sunlight.

If people want to chat they can always private message me. Just pick a topic of conversation, or if you just need to get something off your chest in the general direction of someone you can do that (just mark if its a vent you don't really want a response to so I know).
