Disaster in the Making

"our base"?

You mean a SYRIAN facility the US military took and maintained by force alone, right? That "our base"?

Funny how whiny ass, two-faced socialists/progressives have no issue demonizing the same military action when it took American Indian land and held it by force, yet support that very same thing ONLY BECAUSE it partisanly serves their repugnant political biases today.

Can we at least agree they were bombing our ammunition storage facility?

Still no news of the "genocide" of "the Kurds" all you "Disaster in the Making" champs assured the world would happen? Huh.

- 120 hour cease fire agreement actually brings the Turkish and American counterparts to where they were before the operation. There was a joint command post set in Turkey with both country's participation where they were coordinating patrolling of the Turkish-Syrian border. The disagreement was on the depth of the corridor and US side had been very slow in implementing the plan similar to what they did in Manbij. Turkey clearly stated that they were not willing to repeat Manbij in N.E. Syria.

- YPG thanks to US support was/is controlling 30% of Syria when they are only about 5-10% of the population. YPG ethnically cleansed Arabs from certain places for ulterior motives!!! And, sooner or later they are going to face Syrian military. YPG by letting ISIS prisoners go rang the alarm bells. Perhaps, their time is up along with ISIS.

- Turkey and US seems to be OK with Russia taking over some of the areas which US was controlling. Turkey's reservation is "as long as the terrorists are cleared out of those areas" It makes sense if we want to be out of Syria as long as ISIS is cleared out!!!

"the Kurds" accept volunteers, you know. Instead of just talking about what should be done at the cost of someone else's blood, why don't you just get your warmongering butt over there and try walking like you talk?

Meanwhile back in the real world... DIRECT TRANSLATION
Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said:
"We will suspend the Peace Spring operation for 120 hours for the PKK/YPG to withdraw. This is not a ceasefire."

I am not for YPG. They are a Marxist Leninist terrorist organization that needs to be wiped out as well as ISIS. About 50% of the YPG consists from members of the PKK which is recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, EU, US etc.

I would not want US troops to get in endless wars. Let the Syrians work out with those terrorists. We do not have a dog in this fight.

Wait a minute: you're speaking as if "the Kurds" are not all the same. But this thread's entire premise exists on the guarantee that this situation is a "Disaster in the Making" for "the Kurds", basically because it means their "genocide" by the Turks is undoubtedly imminent. Are you actually saying this thread was dumped by an emotionally hyperbolic dumbfuck, propelled by her emotionally hysterical politically partisan bigotry against the President of the US?

Say it isn't so.

words directly from leader's mouths are now merely "semantics"?

I am not going to argue whether if they have agreed on a cease fire or a halt on the operations for 5 days. It is my understanding that Pence and Erdogan agreed on the Turkish military not continuing its operations for 120 hours.

Admitting that you're full of crap is the first step :)

:D:D:D

Kurds are married to Turks, Persians, Arabs, Assyrians and part of the fabric for hundreds of years. One could not tell if they don't tell who they are. The sad thing about the ideology is that PKK/YPG kills Kurds if they are not ideologically aligned with them.

One may not like Trump, but he is clearly trying go get out of this mess. It is his campaign promise and I support that. Democratic candidates want out of Syria as well, but the only difference is "right way" they are saying; but they do not tell us how.

There are 1 million refugees in Lebanon and 3.6 millions in Turkey (about 400k of them are Kurds) Turkey had not ethnically cleansed the areas that they control in the north west, why would they have done it on the N.E Syria. Disaster in the making is only on people's minds!
