Does your SO know you write smut?

I wrote my first stories for my wife. She encouraged me to publish them here. She doesn't keep up with everything I write anymore, but I'll still read my shorter stuff to her.

Yes. He's only listened to the one starring him, though I've mentioned some of the content of others to him. He makes the odd remark, asks if they're based on certain people we know, but reading isn't his thing.

He did ask if I could place in another contest as he'd like another Amazon voucher. No joy yet, though only a couple stories were real contenders.

Single at the moment.
I'd probably share it with a partner at some point, after I'm sure that they can separate what I write about and what I necessarily want to do.

My wife knows I write and post erotic stories here. She's even read and provided feedback proofreading some of mine.

She doesn't tell me which stories from other authors here are good ones (in her opinion), but she does say mine "just don't do it for her". She proofreads for spelling, punctuation, grammar and can tell me when a scene doesn't make sense due to lacking some nuisance I've missed. But she can't describe WHY she doesn't find my stories interesting.

I've read some well written stories here and, in many cases, know that those stories "just don't do it for me" either. I've realized that I just don't see the world through the same senses or emotions as others.

I think we all pick and write stories from our own unique, fucked up, perverted POVs. None of it is wrong, just different.

She does not and can never know. I started writing when we were going through a bad time, and continued after things got better. If I had started during the good times and shared it with her, it would be a different situation. But now, it must remain my dirty little secret.

Not specifically, no. She knows I write a lot of things that she doesn't read. She reads some of what I write, but only when I ask her to, and I only ask her to read the stuff I think she'll like. She would not like the stuff I share on here.

Also, he likes my stories for the most part, but even he has sat me down and said, "Look. I love you. I love your writing. But I can only read so many of them in a row before I get extremely depressed and feel like there's no more hope in the world."

Upon which, I wrote a fluffy story that is my highest rated here and his favorite. I'm not fond of it, lol.

:)
Perhaps it shouldn't but this one made me smile.

Writing can accomplish so many things: therapy, catharsis, performance art, and yet your partner loves the sweetness and light.

The gap between writer and reader sometimes feels like the Grand Canyon.

I told my wife once I wrote porn. She said, "Yeah, right!".
One of these days I'll send her one or two of my stories. I'm not sure she will like most of them.

Yep, he was aware. We've been separated for a long while now.

He read quite a bit actually. Complimented my talent, while simultaneously detesting it, annnnd I'm pretty sure he still reads along. He says things that make me believe so. Seems he's real into the cyberstalking. 🙃 Whatever, I guess.

Yes, thinks it's a cool hobby, wants to know absolutely nothing about the contents. Thank god...

I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, but in the abstract this is a great idea for an erotic story. I could see myself writing it... eventually.

You have a MMC whose relationship ended on not great terms, but may be reconcilable. The argument may have been about her writing. He is still in love with her but doesn't like her.

He can't help himself from reading her fiction, even if he hates himself for it. He keeps seeing pieces of himself in the writing, eventually decides he wants her back (and based on the writing she wants him back), and he has to navigate his own doubt about whether he is a stalker or whether this is just the feeling of being in love.

Jesus one more edit. The way he not a stalker is because FMCs writing is something she is deeply insecure about. When he comes back BECAUSE of the writing, she gets catharsis and it's love and healing, etc.

Pretty spot on pitch to the real deal, actually.

You're totally welcome to run with it, hell, I'll read it for sure if you write it. Happy I could play Muse for ya.

Yes, she knows, my Mum knows, my Dad knows, my Bro knows, and my Sis knows—only my Sis disapproves.

No. I've pondered telling her several times. I'd like for her to know this part of me, but I don't want to even think about trying to describe the taboo stuff I write, and how it's just fantasy, etc.

The most she knows is that I like to dabble at writing, as a hobby.

On the basis of your edit, your rendition will be a lot more fluffy than the real world! 😁

There was some serious irony when I told my SO about my writing.

The first one I showed off was Fucky Friday, which is not my meanest story (that award goes to Rescuing the Fallen) but it is one of my "rape-iest" noncon stories.

"So what did you think?" 🫣

"The couple in that story was US!" 😡

"What? No, it wasn't. You've never raped me!" 😱

"But we've had that exact fight about the dishes!" 😠

"Yes, but... and I think this is very critical... we've never RAPED each other."

😜

It's all good, love!

I don't know how many husbands like their wives write erotica for strangers...
At least one does. I'm very cheap thrifty, and most of the stories on here were originally gifts for him, and he encouraged me to post them. It's nice to know when my LW stories about a fun couple doing fun stuff for, you know, fun gets flamed, I can count on an anonymous compliment from him.
