DonOld is a Loser

So apparently now it's a social offense for a man to get old and wear a tie?

Jeebus. You idjits need to get out of the house more often.

Wow…kinda reminds me of this scene from Conan. When Thulsa Doom dies, all of his cult leaves. When Trump loses in November, hopefully the same thing happens with his worshippers.

I’ve not seen this movie since I was a… well never mind.

Wait? James Earl Jones was the father to Luke Skywalker AND Conan the Barbarian? RIP, good sir!

I will say that Trump has the cranky old people vote locked down. It might not be enough this time. Older people vote consistently, and now he's getting older people of all races, but yeah, this time, it might not be enough. I get it. I'm a cranky, aging, but not elderly guy. There's a lot of people who are cranky about a lot of things, some of them quite valid beefs. But they are dying off...and not all of their beefs are valid. Some of those beefs are more like Beyond or Impossible beef. That being said, in the area where I live, the prices are still pretty crazy. That's one of the reddest areas in one of the reddest states, traditionally, so I'm not sure that it will make a huge impact out here. Very few folks in my community were going to vote for Harris, anyway, just like very few would vote for Biden. So, that's hardly a reliable gauge of things. If you went by the local population, you'd assume that Harris was completely screwed. Time will tell. Her personality still rubs a lot of people the wrong way, her word salads have people scratching their heads, and her prosecutorial record raises alarm bells, plus her flip flops on various issues.

That might still not decide things. Trump reminds one of the cranky old, ornery neighbor with a wifebeater shirt heavily stained by chaw, ready to confront anyone who even walks too close to his lawn. He might still get elected if enough people are tired of high prices, vandalism, crime, etc. in their communities, and if they fear that Harris might start World War 3. She has to do a good job of distancing her foreign policy enough from previous Democratic nominees who had disturbingly close to ties to the national security establishment and to defense contractors. She also needs to find a plan to improve recruiting numbers, which quotas have yet to be met by the Army and Navy at last check. Otherwise, well, people might fear that she plans to reinstate the draft. She has done a great job of whipping enthusiasm among people just hearing about her for the first time, of course, or people who were introduced to her in the debate (her prep team and she did a great job getting ready for that). She has selected a better running mate than Trump's, though as noted by some, that's really not a decisive factor in this election, as the Vice President has little power to influence policy (as she proved herself).

Abortion rights could well be a decisive factor in her favor. Clear majorities of Americans agree more with her on that issue than with Trump (myself included). I certainly fear the idea of more conservative justices on the Supreme Court. We have too many as it is. I fear for Obergefell and even for Lawrence and Griswold at this point. This issue will help her with younger women, but Trump is still outperforming her with younger men. There are many reasons why that is the case, but the fact is that young men don't tend to rate abortion rights as a very high priority, and the prospect of a military draft affects them and their bodily autonomy just a bit more than abortion bans do. Bringing back more skilled (and less skilled) jobs, particularly manufacturing jobs, could be an issue that she takes from Trump if she plays it right, and that could absolutely appeal to young men. Factory and mechanical work tends to appeal a bit more to men than do service jobs in a lot of sectors. A service-based economy is a rich man's wet dream and a poor man's nightmare. I think that bringing back the Civilian Conservation Corps might be a good idea, too. Restless young men could find that to be very beneficial in getting back on their feet.

trump is our protector! gawsh, i feel so much better now knowing that. *pukes*

“I make this statement to the great women of our country. Sadly, women are poorer than they were four years ago, are less healthy than they were four years ago, are less safe on the streets than they were four years ago, are paying much higher prices for groceries and everything else than they were four years ago,” Trump said.

“I will fix all of that, and fast, and at long last this nation, and national nightmare, will end. It will end,” Trump said. “Because I am your protector. I want to be your protector. As president, I have to be your protector. I hope you don’t make too much of it. I hope the fake news doesn’t go, ‘Oh he wants to be their protector.’ Well, I am. As president, I have to be your protector.”

wait, was this when people started up and heading for the doors? i wouldn't trust trump to protect an ice cream cone, let alone a woman

Trump can't even secure his own damn campaign emails. What's that say for American security.

Donald Trump demands NBC bring back Johnny Carson - who died in 2005

“When I first ran in 2015 or was thinking about running I went on [Jimmy’s] show, The Tonight Show, which is dying.

“They’re all dying. Where is Johnny Carson? Bring back Johnny. It made you appreciate the greatness of Johnny Carson. These three guys are so bad.”
