Dr Who: The Wheel of Time

Jack O'Neill - SG 1

"General, anything that concerns Thor enough to ask for our help is probably going to be pretty dangerous. Can we get Teal'c back before we go?"

Melanie

Melanie stopped right in her muddy tracks, staring at the creature and giving a squeek of fright.

When the Doctor leaned over and whispered to her, she gave him a lost look.

"Generally it denotes a beginning. As in a birth or rebirth." She stopped and shook her head. "But you know that!"

She looked at him again. "Don't you?"

The Doctor

Rolling his eyes at Jinx, he turned back to the alien. "Yes, of course.. lovely place you have here, just love what you've done with the fescue... Jelly Baby?" he asked, proferring the everpresent paper sack.

The Master

The Master followed this mysterious creature who had appeared apparently out of nowhere to guide the Master to their villiage. The thought that this was some trick to capture The Master again had crossed his mind but the Master didn't think the Time-Lords would of known of this place - for the Master had come through that fissure in the space and matter continuum. The Master discounted that the Doctor was involved in this, The Master didn't even know if he was still around. But he had a niggling feeling that The Doctor if not yet involved would be soon enough.

The Creature led him down a path that had been hashed apart by crude machinery, on either side of the path were steamy bogland with strange noises coming from each bog. To the Master it was indeed strange.

Suddenly up ahead the path cleared out into blissful sunlight. And as they walked through the boundary between the swamp lands to the grassy windy plain that stretched downwards and below that is when the Master saw the villiage - which looked like any native pre-industrial culture - shack mudhuts and straw heaps. But what opened his eyes wide and shocked him was what lay in the middle of the villiage. A large white dome peaked in 4 spires transluctant. But the dome was covered in a forcefield that flickered.....

Come....stranger....we are close to my villiage. The Creature linked with him again.

The Master stood still. What is all of this?

All will be revealed in due course....come! The creature said with a hint of impatience.

And the Master followed...wonder etched along his features.

Daniel Jackson SG-1

Daniel was momentarily thunder-struck with the news that General Hammond had sprung on them as a new mission. Daniel was a explorer at heart and a new planet meant new discoveries as well as a little cosmic archaeology.

Listening to Jack ask if Teal'c would be asked to return to accompany them on this mission, Daniel quickly flicked reading the phenomenon part of the mission - hmmm this is down Carter's alley but still would be exciting to witness.

"Teal'c will not be called back for this mission, as he has pressing family matters to attend too. And also you three are it, man power is stretched with 3 SG teams on Toq'rah scouts missions. Any further questions?" General Hammond answered as he closed off his mission book, fully expecting there to be none.

Daniel smiled and stood up looking at everyone with a wide anticipating grin. "Well I'm ready to go."

Xuratl: Messanger - To The Daleks

And Xuratl waited for the responce, not knowing what to expect.....

Xuratl studied these new Arrivals it has been told to greet and guide to its villiage. They were all uniform in appearence and were fierce looking but even though Xuratl was just out of the maturing phase he still held abit of fear of these new Arrivals.

"Greetings."

This had been spoken by the lead Dalek, that Xuratl could ascertain. So there was a mode of communication with these beings. Xuratl wondered if these beings were natural or made by a higher power like the Ancients?

"Come. We will direct you to the Supreme Dalek. He awaits you."

Xuratl in its finess bowed to the creature/arrival in front of it and followed "I will follow."

And all Xuratl could do was follow.

The Daleks

The commanding unit led it back to the safety of the saucers. As they approached, the ramp to the saucer the Supreme Dalek was on lowered. Most of the unit stopped at the base of the ramp, turning outwards and scanning the perimeter to protect the enterance to the saucer.

The Commander Dalek did not pause, but continued up the ramp, leading the indigenous creature into the depths of the ship to the Dalek Supreme.

The Dalek Supreme was stationary in the center of a small room set aside for its use. It was larger than the other Daleks. Not by much, but enough top set it aside from the others in a way more than coloration.

The Commander Dalek woved forward. "This is a native, Xuratl. He has claimed to be our guide."

The Commanding Dalek moved back, keeping its extermination gun trained on the creature should it try anything. The Supreme Dalek's eye stalk moved to the creature.

"Greetings."

Takhai: Messanger - To the Doctor & Companion

"Greetings Arrivals and welcome to Genesis," Takhai said as the two new arrivals came into earshot.

Being adept with telepathy gave Takhai the ability to learn the tongue of these two strangers - the new Arrivals of many as it had become. To Takhai who had been brought up to be told about the ancients had never seen anybody except for the lone Guardian outside his species.

Takhai being of a curious slant in his persona took in the words of the male stranger known as The Doctor who was talking to the female, his companion called Melanie.

Yes, of course.. lovely place you have here, just love what you've done with the fescue... Jelly Baby?"

Takhai raised his digits and spoke mentally to them both. 'Welcome Doctor and Jinx. We do not eat like you do. Genesis the name the Ancients gave to this planet their homeworld, before they departed through the Chaparai. You are one of many new Arrivals and your audience is requested by Sh'lar, the villiage elder for the fulfilment of Prophecy is upon us. Come follow Doctor and Jinx. No harm will come to you two.'

And Takhai turned and lumbered down the path toward the villiage.

The Cybermen

The Cyber Scout's sensors blared out a warning as soon as its audio receptors picked up the sound of Yirpret's foot upon the stick. Its logic program quickly searched through the available options available to it, checking the courses of action it was allowed to take upon being discovered while on scouting duty. Since it had been sent to secretly track the alien non-humanoids, top priority was placed upon keeping hidden. Therego, the Cyber Scout excecuted option 8A.

All this of course took less than a milisecond to process through the scout's computerized mind. As soon as the stick cracked under Yirpret's foot, the Scout whirled around and shot the native with its photon rifle.

****************************************************

"Leader." The Lieutenant spoke aloud, rousing the Cyber Leader from his slumber. The cyborg was currently plugged into his command chair, recharging his mechanical systems. Feeding tubes also connected to a hole in the small of his back, from which a nutrient-rich liquid flowed to feed his organic components.

"Report," ordered the Cyber Leader.

"A massive force field of unknown signature has appeared over the planet. Communication with the fleet has been cut off."

The Leader was silent for a few moments, before he answered. "Situation noted. Continue with operations." He then quickly shut off his optic sensors and resumed sleep mode.

"Affirmative."

Yirpret: Messanger To The Cybermen

Yirpret followed the scout who was following the other new arrivals. He stepped behind the cyberman a twig breaking underneath him. Yirpret hoped that would gain the Arrival's attention.

Yirpret had tried to communicate with this lone new arrival without success. Telepathic communication had not been successful, but in the small millisecond of scanning the datachips within this creature - Yirpret realised these beings called themselves Cyborgs and were known as Cyber-men, sentient after overthrowing their master's control.

When the being turned, Yirpret didn't see until it was too late the weapon unidentifyable to the Kharasii. Yirpret did feel the agonising pain and the darkness start to overtake him. He realised he was dying as the cyber scout returned the way it had come....he linked with his villiage and gave the Elder his images.....

--------------------

In the villiage of the Kharasii the images were given to the Elder from the dying Messanger. This had come to a surprise, every other contact had gone well....yet this one failed.

Some time later.....

50 Kharasii began to ascend the grassy plain toward the boglands.....their minds linked....their digits holding their most potent weapon, a Proton Forcefield. The death of one of the Kharasii would have to be repayed.

And the Guardian within the dome watched on unmoving as the Wheel of Time turned as if uncaring of the events coming to fruitition around it......

The Doctor

The curly-haired Time Lord stuck a finger in his ear and scratched vigorously, turning to Jinx. "Telepathy always makes my skull itch. Well, Jinx, the nice.. um.. person seems to have invited us to muck about in some prophecy or other. Shall we?"

Matching deeds to words, he set off behind the alien. "Y'know, having wandered up and down the entire time-stream, it still amazes me how much store people continue to set by prophets and such rubbish..." he glanced towards Takhai's back, and cleared his throat, saying "No offense, Tacky."

Colonel Jack O'Neill

"No, sir. We'll get right on it." Turning to his team, Jack looked at each of them carefully.

"Daniel, Sam, this might not stay just an exploration mission. No way would Thor have made such a fuss if he and his people weren't really concerned about this thing. I want you both to gear up for a possible combat mission and meet me in the gate room at oh-nine hundred."

Daniel nodded in agreement. "Yes Jack will do," he said.

Nodding to General Hammond, Carter and Jack he left with the mission brief in his arms and scurried back to his room the SG assigned to him.

He suited up in fatigues and made sure his weapons were loaded and working in order. Packing a few books in his backpack and some consumables for any reason they could not get back to the gate for a long period of time. Almost ready he reread the mission brief once over before placing it in his backpack and walking to the gateroom to wait for the others.

Takhai: Messanger - To the Doctor & Jinx

Takhai knew the new arrivals were matching pace with his and following him. Takhai mind listened to the male member of the new arrival as he spoke, Takhai couldn't follow the spoken sayings of the words but could read the throughts from the inprint in the mind.

'No offence taken Doctor, but the return of the Ancients is imminent, they are the rightful bearers of the Wheel of Time. Soon you shall meet the other new arrivals...do you know the other arrivals who came who call themselves The Daleks? The Cybermen? And a lone Time-lord like yourself called The Master? They are all here...coming to meet at the Dome.'

And further down the path figures just like Takhai holding a part of an ancient device semi walked semi leaped up the path toward them. The lead Kharasii contacted Takhai and tol him what had happened with the cybermen.

'A crime has been made against one of our own by the new arrivals the Cybermen. My breathren are going to bring the new arrivals to the villiage to be judged by the Ancient One, the Guardian. Come along, not far, you will witness the power of the Ancients.'

Takhai changed directions toward the location of the Cybermen.

Xuratl: Messanger - To The Daleks

Xuratl followed the Dalek unit back to their ship. Silently Xuratl looked around at the new environment, at the Saucer shaped ship. Following the Commander Dalek into the saucer Xuratl wondered if the Daleks were natural or had been made by artificial means. The Daleks were of high intelligence - that was not doubtful.

The Commander Dalek led the messanger to its leader which was a bigger and more colourful Dalek.

"This is a native, Xuratl. He has claimed to be our guide."

Xuratl stared at the leader of this group of new arrivals awed but not showing it and saw the leader turn its eyestalk to Xuratl. "Greetings."

'Greetings, leader of the Daleks. Welcome to Genesis, I bid you welcome in the name of Sh'lar to witness the Return of the Ancients. The meeting place is not far. I am your guide.'

And Xuratl slightly bowed infront of the Dalek leader, awaiting its responce.

The Daleks

The Dalek Supreme was silent a moment. It turned it's eye stalk to the Commander Dalek.

"You. Gather a ground force and follow our guide to this meeting place. We shall ready the saucers and follow."

Te Commander Dalek responded immediately. "Understood. You shall come with me, Xuratl, and lead us."

The Commander Dalek turned, and headed back through the saucer with the creature. It moved down the ramp, to where a force of thirty Daleks had already grouped. There was another Dalek, a Gold Commander Dalek. It moved forward of the group, the Black Commander Dalek taking the rear.

Thirty Warrior Daleks stood proud, hovering above the alien surface. Two Special Weapons Daleks flanked the group, and a TARDIS sensor Dalek had a place next to the Gold Cammander.

The saucers began to close up, preparing to take flight and follow the sizable force that would be moving across the planet.

The Gold Commanding Dalek turned its eye stalk to the alien. "Lead on, Guide."

Xuratl: Messanger - To The Daleks

Xuratl waited those few moments as they passed whilst the head of the Daleks known as the Supreme Dalek adorned in a gold colour was silent. Because Xuratl could not mind probe these new arrivals he could only wait for a responce from the leader.

Finally it came in the resonant shrill voice it spoke to the Commander Dalek that had taken Xuratl to see its leader and then this Commander Dalek responded to Xuratl to guide and lead them back to his villiage and to Sh'lar.

The Commander Dalek organised a small efficient force and then The Gold Commanding Dalek turned its eye stalk to the alien. "Lead on, Guide."

And Xuratl raised its digit and said without words as it could not talk. "Follow, we will depart for the settlement." Xuratl lumbered in front with the group of Daleks following.

Soon after Xuratl heard what sounded like an explosion and he looked up and stopped causing the Dalek group to stop......

Mothership above Genesis

"Report!" The gruff alien voice shouted from a throne.

The paniced would be mothership Jaf'aa controller responded in a stuttering manner. " Sire, we have come to a planet....that has a forcefield powered artficially.....there are humanoids fit for implantation on the surface."

Nekhet-Nekheb sat on his throne adorned in a golden Unas headress and and in each hand he held the Ankh and Pithum denoting his power and heritage of the son of Ra and Bestun.

"Can the forcefield be breached or deactivated," Nekhet-Nekheb ordered.

"Still trying to find that out, Master," responded the scared Jaf'aa.

"Well try harder. Fire a missile at the forcefield. Do it by Ra, or I will take your symbiot out of you and you will feel a most painful death."

The ensign nodded wordlessly and aimed the weapons system into the forcefield. And the Jaf'aa fired. The missile cruised straight for the planet and hit the forcefield and simply the missile rebounded and turned like it was a ping pong ball and aimed toward the Goa'uld mothership. The face of Nekhet-Nekheb twisted in rage "Noooooooo...." and the missile hit the Mother ship and it exploded.......

Pieces of the mothership slammed into the planet. And the test of the durability of the forcefield had passed.

For the Ancients had built well........

The Daleks

The Dalek Saucers launched, and hovered between the planet's surface and theforce field, awaiting direction from the ground crew.

The Dalek Supreme entered the bridge, and waited. A warrior Dalek turned to the Dalek Supreme. "A ship outside the force field fired upon it, and was destroyed."

The Dalek Supreme processed this information, and was silent.

The Dalek Commander in charge of the group stopped, and scanned the area with its eye stalk as the rest of the dalek got into a battle formation.

"Why have we halted?"

The Cyber Leader, fresh from his slumber, stood from his command chair and strode over to his Lieutenant. "Report."

"All troops have been awakened and mobilized," said the Cyber Lieutenant. "Each is at one hundred percent battle capacity. Sensors have also been recalibrated. Readings indicate numerous alien life forms on planet. Scout four reports encountering native sentient and destroying it."

"Unfortunate. Issue general directive seven, and have all remaining troopers capture natives instead. They shall be kept for interrogation and to supplement our numbers."

"Affirmative." The Cyber Lieutenant sent out the order to the 200 Cybermen on the planet, then returned to his report. "Planet force field still operational. Communications with main fleet is still offline."

"Report noted." The Cyber Leader linked into the ship computers and studied the sensor readings. "Order two units to move upon the two closest alien groups. Highest priority is capture, destroy if necessary."

"Understood."

The order was given out, and soon two units of ten Cybermen each moved out. They passed through the scoutship's erected force barrier, moving slowly but surely through the forest. Each cyborg was fully armed and alert, ready to capture or destroy their designated targets.

These targets were the Doctor's group, as well as the large number of natives heading their way.

Xuratl: Messanger - To The Daleks

Xuratl was linked in with his breathren which was called a Mindwarp Link that all young Kharasii mastered by the first 10 daci of their lives, (daci - years).

Faintly he heard the question posed by the Commander Dalek.

'Hostility from one of the newly arrived species on Genesis has pre-empted a new chosen path of action. These species call themselves Cybermen - they have slain one of my own brothers. Also to report an alien unidentifyable ship launched an attack on the forcefield and was duly destroyed. Cybermen group coming this way. Also coming this way is two individuals known as the Doctor and Jinx, a Time-Lord and Human. Another Time Lord known as the Master has already been taken to the settlement around the Ancient's Dome. Sh'lar the Elder warns that anymore voilence will be met with equal counter measures. This is a warning and a plea. Take heed newly arrived Daleks.'

Xuratl sent the images into the lead Commander Dalek. "We shall continue to the destination." Turning to continue Xuratl stopped as he witnessed a small group of armed new arrived Cybermen swagger menacingly toward him and the Dalek group.

The Kharasii Photon Forcefield Unit

In a row of three and three wide the 50 Kharasii lumbered toward the Cybermen positions. Having passed Takhai and the newly arrived Master and Jinx who followed behind the group, the lead 3 held the Ancient's defensive and offensive weapon called the Photon Forcefield that once released would envelope the target in a stasis that could not be escaped from only mercifally released from.

But further up the bogland path that curved into a corner the second group of Cybermen was seen advancing on the 50 Kharasii and the Doctor and Jinx and Takhai.

It would have been hard to work out which group was more surprised - the cybermen by the sheer number and the appearence of the Doctor or the Kharasii troops who stopped wondering how the Cybermen knew where they would come. Or the Doctor.....

The Daleks

The Daleks moved instantly, blasting their energy weapons at the oncoming Cybermen. The Special Weapons Daleks moved to the fore, the heavy Extermination Cannons blasting into the Cybermen who had appeared.

The Gold Commander Dalek pushed the native back behind the Dalek forces, away from the combat. "We will take measures to protect ourselves only, Guide. We mean no violence towards your people. However, we wish to have words with the Doctor once we have spoken with your leaders."

Messages relayed from the ground troops to the saucers hovering above the panet's surface, releasing these new facts to the Dalek Supreme. "The others shall dispense with these 'Cybermen' Xuratl. We do this not to promote violence, as your leader has asked and warned against, but to defend ourselves from violence."

Melanie

OOC: Sorry everyone. Some RL probs + complete computer crash= no posting for BEL for the past week. bleah.

IC: Jinx looked at the Doctor in resigned agreement. At least they would be out of the muck and mud in the village.

But when she heard The Master mentioned, she stood stock still for a moment which meant she had to race as much as she could in the mud and call out to the Doctor.

"Wait a minute!" She said, trying to get his attention. "Isn't that the guy we...." And then she stopped again and swallowed...hard...as they were approached on all sides by beings she had never had the displeasure to see before.

"Oh hell!" She mumbled as she moved to the Doctor's side,"And I was just telling myself that this day couldn't possibly get worse!"

Samantha Carter

Samantha's fears echoed Jack's own but the thoughts of new discoveries battled that worry and it was with a terse nod that she acknowledged Jack's orders, picked up her briefing notes and went to prepare for the upcoming mission.

It was a short time later that she ment both Jack and Daniel at the gate, moving up to them and looking from one to the other.

"Well," She said, her own voice edged with determination and a bit of excitement,"Are we ready to do this?"
