Dr Who: The Wheel of Time

The Doctor

Grinning maniacally, the Doctor put his arm around the barrel-shaped torso of the Golden Dalek. "But, Jinx.. we're SUCH good friends, the Daleks and I! Sure, there've been a few misunderstandings now and then.. and baby Daleks have been made to behave by their creche-wardens with stories of me for millenia.. but, I'm sure they just want to let bygones be bygones." His arm still around the Dalek, he started moving towards where the natives had told them to go.

Melanie

Melanie trudged behind the Doctor, mumbling to herself.

"Insanity! Pure and complete insanity!" She muttered as she struggled through the muck that insisted on sticking to her and making her feel like The Thing From the Swamp.

"Sure, see the galaxy! Go through time and space! Have adventure!"

She groaned as she stepped into a particularly deep and mucky puddle, sinking down to her calf and making it hard to move forward until she practically crawled out of it.

"Next time I read the fine print on the brochure!"

The Daleks

The Gold Commander Dalek turned it's eye stalk towards the Doctor, following along with the flow of things. The eye stalk swung around to the Doctor's companion, and then went back to the Doctor.

"The Dalek Supreme is most interested in what it refers to as 'a change of tactics'." It said, repeating the message it had been told to give the Doctor if it ran into him. In continued along with the Dalek's enemy. To say that it wodnered about the Dalek Supreme's plan would be an odd thing to say, as it could not think for itself. Well, not to a degree great enough to question its orders.

So, it continued along.

Daniel Jackson SG-1

"Daniel, tell me.. have we ever been this ignored when we jumped through a stargate, unannounced? Whatever that building is that these guys are looking at, it must be pretty damn important to them." Jack asked Daniel.

Looking in wonder around him, Daniel tried to find the right words, nowhere on the countless words they had visited or explored had they witnessed a scene like this.

"No Jack....for some reason I think we came in the middle of something. And that something....is I think directed at us," replied Daniel.

And the scene in front of them didnt prove Daniels' conclusion wrong for the natives (or as he assumed these beings were) were lying prostrate towards the StarGate and themselves, their featureless faces prone on the soggy ground. Only the humanoid in the center of the largest concentration of prone natives stood and looked back at the SG-1 team unmoving.

His mind wandered, as Daniel walked down step by step down from the Gate toward the humanoid in slow measured steps, his fingers clutching his semi auto weapon. He heard Carter from behind him answer a question from Jack.

"And I don't like to think of the power behind such a large field, Col. In spite of the appearances of what I assume are the natives, something with a high technology built whatever is keeping it up and in place."

Within 10 steps of the humanoid, Daniel stopped and said in a calm friendly as he could voice "Hello I am Daniel from a planet called Earth...."

Then the noise began, a loud whooshing sound that made all of them turn but the prone natives. And up on the hills ubove the villiage that led to the boglands, beings came lumbering out followed by oval shaped ships.

And Daniel looked back at the humanoid male who's eyes had seeminly glowed with fiery anger and he heard three words 'Not the Doctor,' before all hell broke loose.

The Master

The Master watched the strange circle emit what seemed to be a bubble outward before it collapsed within itself and formed a perfect if wavy liquid around the outer edges of the strange powerful alien gate....but the Master realised when 3 humans...what seemed to be humans emerged from this bluish tinged 'liquid' that it was some sort of transport device that he had never seen again.

The Master looked at the native Kharasii who had fallen prone when the gateway had activated and still were on their haunches not moving when these three beings 2 men and 1 woman emerged - and the Master realised that these new strangers or as the natives called them and him 'Newly Arrived', that they were as much new to this place as he was.

A idea formulated within the ever thinking Master, if they could come to the planet, could he somehow escape through this device? He would need to 'befriend' these beings and find out.

It was then that one of the men of the threesome, walked down the steps through the crowd of prone natives towards the Master. His left hand rested on the sheath that opened his quantum weapon...he would use it only in need.

"Hello I am Daniel from a planet called Earth...."

Earth? Earth! Not that infernal planet! The Master disliked that planet with a intense emotion, for it was on that planet that the Doctor had defeated him on several occassions...he was so close to gaining what he needed when the Doctor would wreck everything....

And then the Master too heard the noise, a noise sounding like the clinks of the cybermen, and the metallic rantings of the Cybermen...and in the midst of this cacophony, he heard a voice that immediately sounded familiar to the Master - it was a voice that overcame the Master in a wide shadow, it was the voice of his arch-enemy, the goodie - The Doctor. He grimaced and scowled as he watched not only the Doctor, but also his other enemies, the Daleks with their ship and the Cybermen.

The Master's eyes widened, when he saw the following saucers of the Daleks.....

"Not the Doctor."

It was at this moment that the prone Kharasii of the settlement arose as one and all the Master knew was he needed off this planet anyway possible.

The Kharasii Guide Party to the settlement of the natives....

The lead Kharasii which included Takhai and Xuratl cleared the boglands and slowly descended the hills leading to the settlement.

They all witnessed the activation from the other side of the Chaparai'i.

'Behold, the activation of the Gateway. The time of fulfilment is close... Takhai mindlinked to his breathren and the newly arrived as well. 'Sh'lar is awaiting our presence, then we all shall witness the Return of the Ancients'.

-------------

Some time later...

Just as the guiding party descended the last hill, above the settlement suddenly the sky opened up, and a dark shape desceneded slowly but steadily, and by the ways the Daleks immediately acted, even if they were souless machines....they knew what the shape meant.....

Abslom Daak

The Daleks

The Daleks could be said not to fear Abslom Daak. It could be said that they had no worries about a man, who was sent on a suicide mission to kill as many of them as possible before dying. However, those Daleks on the ground had no usable weapons. They were helpless.

And, of course, the Daleks onboard the saucers knew who Abslom Daak was. He was a Dalek Killer. The Doctor, true, crushed most of their plans for domination, however, the Dalek Supreme believed he could discuss the new situation with him, possibly.

With Abslom Daak, there was no discussion.

What remained of the Dalek population would die here if they did not do something, so the Daleks sprang into action. The Gold Commander Dalek disengaged itself from the Doctor, and the Daleks gathered, trying to keep the natives between themselves and Abslom Daak, hoping for the best.

Daniel Jackson SG-1

Did this 'human' say "not the Doctor"? Daniel asked himself. The pondering of this thought didn't last long when the noises of the coming strange collection of creatures was seen lumbering down the hill did Daniel's eyes widen.

Both he and Jack and Carter and this strange human looked toward the approaching group led by the natives.

"Ah Jack, ever seen the show Doctor Who?" Daniel didn't bother waiting for a responce and answered his question with the apparent answer. "Cause if I'm not mistaken thats the Daleks....The Cybermen....and this must be the Master?...."

Daniel's voice suddenly was cut off as a new shape appeared over the villiage, not the oval shaped ships of the Dalek, but a ship of which he had never seen before. Definitely not Goa'uld.....

The noise drowned out his throughts....as the ship descended and landed on the plain near the villiage between the Kharasii and newly arrived and the villiages. Wordlessly Daniel watched as the native beings rose and in groups started to lumber toward the new alien ship.

"What do you want to do Jack?"

Abslom Daak

Abslom Daak.

Abslom Daak realised victory was close and at hand.

It had tracked the last quadrant for the last surviving Dalek ship....it's charter was to purge the universe of the Daleks. It had followed the Dalek ship through the 'tear' in space time and before the alien forcefield had immersed this alien planet it had entered following the last of the ships of the Dalek fleet that had been.

And it could feel victory.....could almost taste it....it enjoyed and relished the feel of Victory.

For it was written. It was known in time immortal that the plague of the Daleks would be wiped out.

As Abslom Daak's ship landed, the door to the outside opened....and Abslom Daak would have it's final victory. It would not be denied.

But Abslom Daak had not taken into account that it's fate was now tied up to the Wheel of Time.
