Dr Who: The Wheel of Time

Colonel Jack O'Neill - SG1

After leaving his teammates, Jack made his way to get supplies for the mission, then to Teal'c's quarters to leave a personal message. Soon enough, he was suited up and ready to move, joining the rest of SG-1 at the Stargate. "Okay, folks. We're as ready as we're going to get for now. Let's move out." As they approached the swirling Stargate, he turned and saluted to the onlooking general, then turned back and stepped through.

The Doctor

It took a very long second for the alien's words to register, then the curly-haired Time Lord stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening. Jinx reacted first, asking if this were the same 'Master' they were looking for.

"Yes, Jinx," the Doctor responded, a very grave look upon his face. "However, the Master is only one of many worries now. What could have brought him, the Cybermen, AND the Daleks to this place and time?"

Takhai and the other native walked off, talking of a judgement to be rendered upon the Cybermen, and the Doctor reached out to take Jinx by the hand, pulling her to follow.

"Jinx, we must be very, very careful now. With the possible exception of the natives, it seems that everyone coming here has ample cause to attempt to kill me on sight, along with anyone with me. That being said, " he continued with a grin, "it rather looks like business as usual for us!"

Samantha Carter

Nodding and taking a deep breath, Samantha followed Jack, her whole body tense in the anticipation of what they would see and experience on the other side.

Melanie

Melanie looked at the creatures surrounding them in the glade and then back at the Doctor, an incredilous look on her face.

"You think?" She said giving him that 'doh' kind of look one gives those speaking the obvious.

Leaning her head up so she could whisper to him, she added,"Don't take this the wrong way, Doctor, but you might think about changing your 'usual business' into one that you might get out alive in."

The Cybermen

The Cybermen who intercepted the Dalek party emotionlessly returned fire. They quickly saw that the regular Dalek weapons could not penetrate their impossibly thick armor; the true threat was the Special Weapons Dalek, whose massive canon blew a gaping hole in one of their number.

The Cyber Lieutenant leading the patrol silently coordinated his fire with two of his men, concentrating their photon blasts at the Special Weapons Dalek. The remaining others lumbered forwards, firing upon the other Daleks.

Meanwhile, the patrol which came upon the Doctor and his party merely stood silently. The Cyber Lieutenant of that patrol strode forwards until he was within speaking distance from the Time Lord. "You have been identified as the Time Lord designated as 'The Doctor.'" it said with its electronic, monotone voice. "You, the human female, and the native organics are ordered to accompany us to our base of operations."

The Lieutenant then stood stiffly, as if awaiting an answer. Neither he nor his men seemed perturbed by the fact that they were outnumbered.

Melanie

At the order of the newcomer, Melanie could feel her temper boiling.

"Excuse me?" She said, her eyes narrowing at the ugly thing,"You're outnumbered and you think you're giving the orders?"

With a hurumph that signalled her rising irritation and, as the Doctor well knew, the initiation of her own latent and mysterious powers, she crossed her arm and stepped closer to the Doctor, chin up and eyes flashing.

The sky above began to darken and clouds to gather to match Melanie's mood but she didn't notice. Indeed she was concentrating more on the Cyberman before them than anything else.

It was only when a boom of thunder followed by a downpour of rain drenched them, lightening shooting from the sky that Melanie yelped, her anger forgotten.

"I didn't do it!" She yelled at The Doctor even as winds whipped up, blowing rain in the face of the combatants on the field.

The Daleks

A long series of events came to a climax as the Daleks, discovering normal fire had no effect, began to aim their weapons and fire them in unison at the direction of the Black Commander Dalek with them. The two Special Weapons Daleks, finding themselves the main target of teh Cybermen attack, moved out into the the bog, circling about to the sides of the fores away from the main body of Daleks.

Their heavier armor made them slower than the other Daleks, but more able to withstand the shots by the enemies. The plan was to move around toe both side of the enemy force, and push in, blasting away. Chances are they would die, but like all good Daleks soldiers, they didn't think about that, or themselves, fighting for the greater glory of the Daleks and the Dalek Supreme.

The Doctor

The Doctor eyed the Cybermen warily, but made no move to follow. As the wind began to pick up and the rain started to fall, he grabbed Jinx by the arm and pulled her over into a rapidly muddying ditch behind a nearby rock. "Stay down! I think our metal friends aren't going to enjoy the lightning show nearly as much as we will!"

Melanie

Melanie slipped and slid down the embankment, bemoaning the state of muddiness that she and her clothes were quickly achieving.

Ducking into the culvert, she put her hands over her head and muttered,"They can't pin this one on me! I'm can't change nature, I can't control the weather and I wouldn't drown myself in mud even if I could!"

The Cybermen engaging the Daleks changed tactics slightly as the Special Weapons Daleks seperated. The nine remaining Cybermen spread themselves out, their slow speed slightly hindering them on the muddy terrain.

The regular Daleks had attempted to concentrate their fire at the lumbering silver giants, but found that their blasters were still incapable of penetrating the cyber armor. All it did was slow their adversaries down.

The Special Weapons Daleks were making more doing more damage though, as one of them managed to hit a Cyberman with a glancing blast. The attack impacted the cyborg's side and severing its left arm. The trooper screamed in mechanical agony as white circulatory fluid spurted from the wound.

Meanwhile, the Cybermen who met the Doctor's party had decided to change tactics as well. Since the organics didn't seem to wish to cooperate, the Cyber Lieutenant ordered his men to perform capture maneuvers. The troopers did so, switching their rifles to stun before opening fire upon the natives and the Doctor.

The Daleks

It only took a few sconds to see things weren't going well. A few Daleks hung back with the Gold Commander, firing in unision at the same Cyberman. The others broke off, interecpting their Special Wepons Daleks, and protecting them from enemy fire, selflessly throwing themselves into the oncoming Cybermen blasts in order to protect the heavier weaponry of the Special Weapons Daleks.

One of the Daleks left behind rushed around the wounded Cyberman, firing it's extermination gun into its wound. The Gold Commanding Dalek contacted one of the saucers, requesting backup units of the Special Weapons Daleks.

Already though, the affects of the Cybermens weapons were appearant, stray Dalek units sat firmly in the gorund, their mutant pilots dead, their own armored life-sustaining Dalek Shells becoming their tombs.

The Master

The Master followed the native at a close pace toward the villiage surrounding the white dome that lay behind the flickering forcefield. Whilst he followed the being who had remained quiet as they followed the rocky path down the embankment, he looked around him at the new surroundings and thought about what the native creature had stated about new arrivals on the planet just like himself.

They reached the end of the path that ended in the beginning of a carefully manicured pebbled road that showed it was the start of the villiage itself. Natives like the creature who was his guide stood and watched the Master, making him feel like he was on show. Suddenly tendrils of alien thoughts like a wave rolled through his mind, asking question they wanted answers to, searching his mind for those answers they needed to know.

One thing the Master knew, was from the feeling of these natives, they were unsure what the new arrivals like himself had to do with the forcefield around the planet.

Come, new arrival, do not fear, you will soon meet Sh'lar our settlement Elder infront of the Chaparai'i, his guide said telepathically.

'Chaparai'i', the Master asked confused.

Yes, you will see the gate of the ancients soon enough, the native answered.

The Master was left nonplussed but the questions of the telepathic natives ceased as if they had been summoned elsewhere. The pebbled road moved into the heart of the villiage that included huts on either sides, elaborately designed and neatly arranged symetrically. The road opened up into a large courtyard and as they came closer in the middle the Master could make out a circled shaped object with ancient carvings running all along its outside. It sat on a podium and beneath the podium were gathered a group of natives dressed in colourful garments surrounding what was a old bearded native, if that was a beard.

That is the Chaparai'i, the gate of the Ancients, said the guide as the creature moved the Master towards the group and the group around Sh'lar the Elder opened up.

The Master glanced at what the natives called the Gate of the Ancients - the Chaparai'i. Then he looked down as he came close to the awaiting villiage elder, Sh'lar......

Daniel Jackson SG-1

With backpack securely fastened on his back and his military issue gun in his hands, Daniel awaited the others in the gate control room that overlooked the StarGate. At the moment workers in suits were doing preparatory checks on the gate and auxillery programmes and systems, a standard procedure done before and after gate use.

This mission was one that Daniel actually looked forward to the most - it was a exploration mission where he could hone and use his archaeological skills to good use. Well he hoped, generally something always happened to change that. He hoped for once they would not meet any menacing Goa'uld or Replicators. They were real pain in the ass'.

It was then that Jack and Sam and General Hammond arrived, the General always saw them off and wished them well, Jack and Sam were all ready.

"Start the dialing programe Colonel," ordered General Hammond. The sounds of the StarGate turning and each chevron being locked in place could be heard clearly. "You have your orders Team, good luck and come back soon," the General said.

"Are we ready to do this?" said Samantha.

"I'm all set for go," nodded Daniel.

They walked down the steps leading to the Gateroom and entered it. The translucent bluish gell wavering, beckoning them as it had done oh so many times, this time without Teal'c.

Okay, folks. We're as ready as we're going to get for now. Let's move out." Jack said.

All three of them walked up the ramp and through the Gate.....

General Hammond saluted back to Jack as they left.

Xuratl: Messanger - To The Daleks

Xuratl could see the approaching newly arrived Cybermen group and the Daleks he was guiding were enemies, and a confrontation would ensue. Xuratl also saw the emergence of his fellow natives and behind them another pair of newly arrived beings with their guide Takhai.

Then the firing of alien weapons began and the Commander Dalek in the group shepherded Xuratl behind the frontal Dalek forces. "We will take measures to protect ourselves only, Guide. We mean no violence towards your people. However, we wish to have words with the Doctor once we have spoken with your leaders. "The others shall dispense with these 'Cybermen' Xuratl. We do this not to promote violence, as your leader has asked and warned against, but to defend ourselves from violence."

Xuratl linked the words of the Commander Dalek in the mindlink and recieved a responce from Sh'lar and mentally relayed the message to the Commander Dalek;

'This comes from Sh'lar Elder of the villiage of the Kharasii, and the Messanger of the Ancients. Desist from this voilence or all sides will see the power of the Ancients.'

And with the message given to the Daleks and to the rest of the newly arrived bar the Master who by now was in the settlement, the repercussions were about to be felt.

The Kharasii Photon Forcefield Unit

Takhai the guide to the Doctor and Jinx heard the ultimatum of the Cybermen. And Takhai mentally linked the message from Sh'lar to the Cybermen. The battle between the Daleks and Cybermen had not stopped and casualties started to amass on both sides.

Suddenly above them through the canopy of the bogland trees, the clear sky clouded quickly and flashes of lightening began to threaten......

All the natives including Xuratl and Takhai rose their heads and digits skywards and the three holding the Photon Forcefield Unit placed the hefty weapon above them.......

Within the Dome the silent unmoving Guardian moved again toward the spinning Wheel of Time. The Guardian touched the console and pressed a code into the datapad, the Wheel of Time stopped spinning and as it stopped a beam of brillian white radiance began to flow forth rising through the dome toward the battle. The Guardian pressed another code and the white light stopped and the wheel of time began to spin again as it always had. The power of the Ancients was unleashed and at hand.

Rain began to fall as the battle progressed, thunder rumbled as if clashing with the newly arrived. Only the natives saw the shimmering radiance flow through the air and aim at the Photon Forcefield Unit device, filling it with energy.

As the cybermen fired their weapons at the natives and Doctor, the device of the ancients activated, taking the energy bolts of the weapons and points of lights streamed from the weapon and covered each of the weapons of the Cybermen and Daleks instantly rendering them non operational until the Photon Forcefield Unit was switched off and it could only be done by Sh'lar.

And telepathically a new message was given. "Come new arrivals, to the villiage, all weapons and voilence will no longer be tolerated. Do not misjudge us newcomers, we are not without power.'

And the Photon Forcefield Unit pulsed in the firm grip of the three warrior Kharasii. The clouds cleared away and once again the clear day reformed.

The Master

The Master stood close to the Native's elder Sh'lar and they had exchanged pleasantries when something unexpected happened. The Gateway they were next to - the Chaparai'i activated - sending all the natives prone as if in worship.

The Master watched amazed at this technology he had never witnessed before activate. One by one the lights along the alien symbols lighted up and then with all symbol lights activated a bubble formed outwards and then fixed itself along the outershell.

"What in the name of the universe is this."

And the Master was about to find out as he looked around him with all the natives including Sh'lar prostrate on the ground awaiting the arrival of something or someone......

The Daleks

The 'orders; from the natives were transferred to the Supreme Dalek, who stated simply to follow orders and that no replacement units would be sent. The order to stand down was quickly followed by a display show from the natives.

The Daleks units broke off their attack, regrouping around the Gold Commander Dalek. Over half their forces had been decimated. Only fourteen Daleks still remained, and only one of the Special Weapons Daleks seemed operational.

The Daleks mileld aimlessly, eye stalks scanning the area. One Dalek, befet of its Eye Stalk, was flanked by two others and led to the group, where it proceeded to slowly ram again and again into a Dalek in fornt of it.

The Black Commander Dalek who had made firs contact lay not far away, a hole blasted through its armor by Cyberman fire. The mutant inside struggled to live as its systems shut down one by one.

The Cyber Lieutenants of the two units relayed the natives' message back to the scout ship. The Lieutenant at the helm relayed the data to the Leader.

"Interesting," said the Cyber Leader. He was silent for a moment, pondering the best course of action to take. Finally, he spoke. "Order the two units to cease hostilities. We will see what these aliens want. Have them reconfigure weapon modules to auto repair, or switch to hand to hand systems if needed. Make no action until given further instruction."

"Affirmative," said the Lieutenant as he relayed the Leader's orders.

The Cyber Lieutenants in both units ordered their troopers to cease hostile action. The Cybermen lowered their rifles.

"We agree to your terms," said the Lieutenants, almost at the same time. "Lead on."

The unit who had engaged the Daleks had split their numbers. The injured Cyberman as well as the destroyed unit were lifted by two of their comrades and were ordered to return them to home base to be repaired. The remaining six then turned to the natives and Daleks, and awaited further instruction.

The Kharasii Photon Forcefield Unit

The Photon Forcefield Unit pulsed with omnipotent power in the digits of the 3 lead Kharasii, who waited for the actions of the two newly arrived clashing groups. The Kharasii in the form of the two guides Xuratl and Takhai came forth between the two groups, Takhai in front of the Cybermen and Xuratl in front of the Daleks.

After sometime both the Daleks and Cybermen stood down. Both groups were ready to be led to the native's settlement , not knowing that in the villiage at the moment the last of the newly arrived were entering Genesis through the Ancients Stargate.

The Kharasii minds interlinked again and a new general message was given to the two new groups plus the Doctor and his companion Jinx.

'New information recieved. Last of the new arrivals have reached Genesis.....We shall guide you...Daleks....you Cybermen....and you Doctor and Jinx to our Villiage. Follow us, please.

The three Kharasii holding the Photon Forcefield Unit held back as the front group that included the Doctor and Jinx separated the Daleks from the Cybermen as they were led to the Villiage. The Photon Forcefield Unit held back and took up the rear, and among all the Kharasii, through the interwoven mindlink, a sense of apprehension was forming.....

Daniel Jackson SG-1

The journey through the Stargate was quick and nothing untoward took place. Daniel appeared with Jack and Samantha just right behind him to a scene that made Daniel gaze with a gaped mouth.

For the scene around him showed what appeared to be crude humanoid beings prostrate on the ground towards the gate. And a lone humanoid male staring upright amazed as they were at the view.

Behind them the wormhole closed and all was silent.

"Um, Jack, look ahead of us....at that dome....thats no Goa'uld design," Daniel said softly.

And infront of them rising above them not mere 600 metres away was a white dome with a doorway with a light in it. But what was most amazing in this scene was the forcefield around the dome, flickering yet so strong.

The Daleks

The Dalek saucers hovered above what was going on the ground. The ground troops followed the natives, their eye stalks observing both the natives and the Cybermen. The Gold Commander Dalek fixed it's eye stalk on the Doctor.

A few messages were relayed between it and the Dalek Supreme. It followed along, and eventually broke off, heading over to the Doctor, keeping intself in a nonthreatening posture.

"Once the natives are through speaking with us, Doctor, the Dalek Supreme wishes to speak with you."

Colonel Jack O'Neill - SG1

Jack looked around cautiously, scanning the area for threats. "Daniel, tell me.. have we ever been this ignored when we jumped through a stargate, unannounced? Whatever that building is that these guys are looking at, it must be pretty damn important to them." He moved down off of the ramp leading to the stargate, to stand beside the D.H.D.

"Carter, any opinions on what that glowing field might be?"

The Doctor

Climbing slowly from the ditch, the Doctor's mind whirled with the implications inherent in the display of power by the aboriginals. He paused for a second to lend a hand to Jinx, pulling her up beside him.
"Looks like they've gotten something similar to the Temporal Grace that exists within the TARDIS.. just a lot bigger and more mobile. Rather glad to see all this lot defanged!"

The Doctor's eyes widened briefly as the Gold Commander Dalek glided towards them.

"Once the natives are through speaking with us, Doctor, the Dalek Supreme wishes to speak with you."

"Awfully frustrating, isn't it, old boy? Not to be able to run around screeching 'ex-ter-min-aaaate'? Tell you what... lets just see what these wonderful people have to say, then we'll talk about talking, hmmm?"

Samantha Carter

Samantha looked out over the scene, her mind already clicking out the possiblities. Only one really matched all the criteria and, when Jack asked his question, she answered readily.

"It looks like some kind of power field surrounding a large area. Whether to hold those inside in or to keep something out is another question."

Then, she added,"And I don't like to think of the power behind such a large field, Col. In spite of the appearances of what I assume are the natives, something with a high technology built whatever is keeping it up and in place."

Melanie

Melanie let the Doctor drag her out of the muck, groaning as she looked down at the clumps of mud clinging to her.

"Tell me they have a bath somewhere in this village!" She said to noone in particular.

When the Dalek approached them, she moved back dragging on the Doctor's hand, expecting immediate attack.

At the request of a meeting and the Doctor's answer, she looked at him in stunned disbelief.

"You can't seriously be thinking about actually going with him when this is all over?!" She said, her mouth agape,"Are you sure you didn't hit your head harder than you let on when the TARDIS went through that hole?"
