Honestly I feel like I probably struggle with dom characters because I have a hard time getting my own head out of a subby space. Like, I think I'm learning okay through experimenting with Vin, and watching videos and reading stuff, etc. But it still always feels just a little janky in my own head when I'm trying to write it in that headspace. It's much easier when it's a villain lol, because it's more masochist and they're just going to do whatever the hell they want XD

I think it’s tough to see who she was when she was confident and in-charge because her world crumbled away and she was left with no skills in the new world. I’m hoping to showcase her talents a bit at the resort though, to give a glimpse of who she is when she doesn’t fear for her life. As long as they had a safe word and he was enjoying it... Sayori would be willing to rough him up a bit.
Haha, I feel a bit janky with dom characters too sometimes. My main concern is with the person I'm writing with - like I'm worried about accidentally trampling one of their boundaries and turning them off with something particularly violent, disgusting, or harsh, or putting my own kinks/likes on other people. I may like a creepy villain who sneaks into someone's bed and pretends to be their lover in the dark, but others might not. Disgusting in that they're very off-putting (no scat/piss/vomit stuff here. That's beyond me).

Oh~ Well I'm excited to see it I would post again sooner, but I have to catch up on another rp first which is taking me a bit because it's a longer style post. But I'll try and get one in before bed. And hm hm. Well, she could definitely try Quint wouldn't hold back in explaining what it is he wants, but he might feel even more comfortable with Sayori knowing that she...experienced a bit of what he grew up with >.>
Honestly I think you do a superb job with your dom characters. And I do know the fear of, uh, going too dark lol... But besides just some really nasty bodily fluids stuff, it's usually really hard to turn me off, unless it's cringe and even that is situational I was actually worried I was going to go too far with Kuznet or Niles, with you sometimes, but I'm glad it worked out the way it did And I just like trust you tell me too if it's too much and I can adjust.
I want to say I can blame it all on trauma, but honestly Stephan King used a pretty good quote during an interview one time. I can't type it word for word, but basically someone asked him one time if he had anything in his childhood that made him want to write the types of things he did. And maybe he did, or maybe he was just pulling a King move here (heh), but he basically said he thought about it for a long time and what was scarier thought was that it wasn't any kind of trauma, but that people are just capable of imagining this type of thing. And I was like >.> "I feel called out"

If I had to guess, I would put my money on Quint being the sort that likes to be punished to make up for shitty things he's had to do in the past. Like he gets turned on by the relief of atoning for his sins in some way, and it feels like the only way he can assuage some of his guilt.

Mm, I would say it's perhaps just a bit of that, but more like once in a while he just needs some...intense punishment, to really 'feel' anything. Let's say a little mix of trauma causing apathy, and the apathy being a very distressful state of mind to be in, and then he built up a pretty good pain tolerance and became more masochistic over the years. So little light spanks ain't gonna do shit and he needs like, some legit paddling to feel much on his pretty numbed out nerves. Now Cora on the other hand? Oh. She'll eventually explore it with Damien, but needing some punishment to get herself out of that hating-herself head space is definitely going to be very healing and stress relieving for her
