Recidiva said:Yes. To expand the point, I don't know what to expect - chaos, order, random event, meaningful event.
It's difficult to know hurt from harm.
It requires diving in for me to pick up on the pattern on what looks to be total chaos. But sometimes I've gone after a pattern only to discover something entirely invented.
"Wow, that person looks sane and strong and wise." turns into "Oh man, get away, get far away. That sanity, strength and wisdom is built on something likely to blow at any second."
Then again someone who looks entirely insane, once I get to the root of what they're going through, makes perfect sense. "How the hell did you survive that at all?"
The thing I've found time and again is that even the things that seem to be a hurt, in the end turn into something positive if I can pick up the right thread. I'm personally coming out of something that was quite difficult to deal with but I've gotten several very clear messages from the universe that it's time to let go of that in order to move in a positive direction and that opportunities are opening up for me. (This is career wise.) It's always possible that we're picking up on something that is an illusion so it's wise to look for verification. (Like using an Internet source for research, might sound plausible but you better find some verification or at least verify the source.) Of course, when we're speaking of hurt, we have to acknowledge that growth is painful simply because it takes us out of our comfort zone.
LOL, that reminds me of a roommate I had. I said to her once that sometimes I felt like I was going crazy. She looked at me levelly and said, "You are one of the most sane people I know." It's just hard to feel sane all the time when you're dealing with irrational people. I also subscribe to the notion that we are all a little "dark and twisty inside." Very few people have had lovely, wonderful childhoods and lives and find totally healthy ways to cope with everything in their lives. It's something most of us need to work on.
And then there are the people that you look in their eyes and just know, there is something wrong there. I wouldn't even call it insanity. I've known some perfectly lovely people who were not connected to reality. It probably comes the closest to evil that I've ever seen. Hard to say. Luckily I've only dealt with a couple people in my lifetime like that.
