Endless Curiosity II

Ahem - back on the subject question, if I may intrude. :p I'm with all of you - our own MF and Tinglebliss, Hornblende & Numi, Trekka and the bf, Old Uncle Jack & DeepestSigh. I used to love Treasured and Sandman. And I'll even add Slinger and his new bride, even tho she's not "technically" a Litster, 'cause he's head over heels in love enough for both of them.

I really miss Clowns and his beloved Mildred though. :nana:

I'm completely oblivious to the secret relationships going on. I'd probably get them totally wrong if I tried to guess.

*lies down on the silver platter next to EN.*

I remember Treasured and Sandman. They definitely had a magical Lit romance.

Congrats on the second incarnation, VT!:rose:Well done!

Is there a Lit couple that you look to with admiration? Any pairings that make you think, "I'd like to find something like that." You don't have to name them, but I wonder if any of you find hope in the happiness of others.

It is the secret couples, and the private lives of the public couples, that I enjoy the most. The photo that wasn't posted on the boards, the punishment that tells a woman how beautiful her man thinks she is, the serious side or wacky sense of humor that isn't necessarily evident in public. Seeing who these people are behind the Lit curtain and sharing in their joys and sorrows - these are the moments that stay with me.

Treasured and Sandman. I miss those two, and hope they were able to finally, truly be together after the dust settled.

And I like guessing the secret couples, although I usually get it wrong unless one of them posts something blatant to the other in the "would you fuck the..." or the "Dear Litster" thread. Once is adorable. Once a week is cute. Every day in 16 threads is a little over the top. Your opinion may vary. ;)

I didn't know the Cascadia one. And I agree with beachie on her point. Such public pairings can go high school-ish so fast

I agree with this ^^^ statement. A little peek once in a while is cute. Plastering every sweet nothing in the threads can be a bit much.

I don't mind. I learned a skill from my dad. I just tune everyone out and it makes you deaf dumb and blind. it's a handy skill now that I'm older. :D

Can I just say I'm still disappointed that we stopped talking about Maine?

I've got nothing new to add, couples have been covered. My husband has an account, but hasn't logged in in over a year. He has his own space over yonder, it's all good with me.

I don't mind the flirting, I roll like CA and just block it out if need be. I figure everyone has the right to have fun and be happy. I'd rather see flirting and mush than complaining and bitterness. <--- that right there gets old really fast.
And for secret couple, not really knowing for sure who talks to who, no one confirms or denies this or that. Kinda fun thinking you know, but really don't. I've got no inside info either. Scoot over, I'm joining the clueless party also.

Thanks, Jenny!

I'm glad so many found their way to the new place.

*drops a stack of pizzas on the bar, smiling at the sparkling glasses and shiny new bottles. Grabbing a beer, I wander to the back of the room, lying on the couch closest to the dance floor.*

So, what did I miss?

I've never contemplated it, but I think I prefer to be oblivious to who is Lit coupled.

It seems like when I am aware a coupling, it is because there's some sort of drama going on. And while I enjoy grabbing the popcorn and watching drama unfold as much as anyone - I just prefer to think everyone is footloose, fancy free and flirt-eligible.

;)

Bonus: Name them. ;)

Extra Special Bonus: Play matchmaker and tell us who you think "should" be a couple.

I do look at some couples with adoration and admiration. We named a few already, but I add one more.

Kat and Beastie (Darksimian)

I like the way Beastie fawns over Kat. The way he gets nervous every time there is a rendezvous. I would like to have a love like that one day.....kinda. ;)

Who should be a couple? Honest answer I have no idea. It is always a surprise sometimes to see who is actually a couple and who isn't. I find that the best Lit relationships are better when they're kept on the down low. (No pun intended Low.)

Meanwhile, good job setting up the new thread babygirl. :)

Today, I decided to voice the question. :D

Question of the day

For those of you that can't or prefer not to listen to audio clips, I'll type the question later this morning when I have a proper keyboard.

I try not to overdo it, or don't do it all, depending on the couple. Of course I had no idea a few of the couples listed here, were even couples :D

I think we're kind of putting a lot of weight on people's lit relationship status. This is the internet, and for all the good it brings, it should be taken with a grain of salt. It's full of fakes, cheats, liars and ego-maniacs. People who use it, and take from it what they will, without any consideration for anyone else's needs or desires.

It's not that I don't think it's sweet that people can be in love on a website like this, because I do. But there is no doubt in my mind, that nearly everyone here is at least a little bit of a player, always looking for the next best thing.

How many people have we all poured our hearts (or other, even more intimate things) out to that we were so into one day, only to see them knocking on someone else's door the next? How many broken hearts (or hurt feels) have we dealt with, only to get involved and do it all again?

I guess I'm veering off the topic of what you asked, now. But that being said, I personally consider all flirting in public places a game. It's a fun kind of back and forth and it's a great distraction from the things I'd rather not deal with in my reality. Anyone is open game, if they're clever and witty enough. YMMV, but I would doubt that my feelings are that much different than most others.

Private chats are a little different, I think. That's why I deflect 90% of my inbox. Seriously, don't send me a RP request, a question about my username, an invitation to see your junk, etc. unless we've ever talked before.

*gets off her soapbox, folds it up and eats it leaving no traces of her rant behind*

Couple status doesn't slow me down. In fact, I sometimes flirt more with those I know are taken because it's safe. We both know it's just harmless fun with no hidden meaning.

In general, I tend to flirt with reckless abandon. Most who know me also know that public flirting is just for sport. I would hope, should I ever upset a spouse or lover, that they would send me a PM and let me know. It's never my intent to hurt someone. I'm also not interested in breaking up a happy Lit home. I just enjoy flirting, both giving and receiving.

I agree with this...I was guilty as OD but feel so much better as OUJ and now I'm settled with Deepest - I feel so much better for it.
