Endless Ends

Watched Werewolves Within (2021) at @hotwords229_A's suggestion.

It was good! Weird little flick that does a great job of mixing horror and humor. The two leads have great chemistry. There's a bit of chaos as the group loses their already questionable wits when they realize a werewolf is about. Probably more realistically presented (if humorously edged) than the usually depicted behavior in those situations.

. . . . . .

Errr. Let me rephrase. Than usually depicted behavior in those situations in horror movies. :p

I never saw that movie. I think I recommended the other one that you didn’t like. Something about a mountain, snow mountain werewolf, or something like that. 🤔

Oh! My mistake.

I can't remember. It's a little back in the thread. And I didn't dislike it. Definately worth the watch!! The main character was just a little overtly neurotic. I mean, I'm overly erratic enough on my own. 🤣

Speaking of special effects, The Howling (1981).

Possibly the best werewolf transformations ever? I can't think of any that compare. The movie was based on a book, of which I was unaware until a couple of years ago.

Settling in to watch.

There may, or may not, be commentary. :p

The beginning, where she is in a room video room at the sex shop, and the serial killer that's obsessed with her is at her back, as yet unseen, forcing her to watch a nonconsensual sex scene, is . . . kinda terrifying.

SO MUCH TENSION

I’ve never seen this one. It seems difficult to find, at least to find a quality version.
I've seen it, but only once, I think, and it's been a couple of decades.

Huh. According to Wiki this was actually the first in a series of teenage monster films by American International Pictures.

It’s too late, Halloween is over 😭, but let’s go out with a bang.

Someone sent me this awesome montage of the Universal Monsters and I love it.
This is wonderful! I recognized nearly all the shots. Some, like the close up of Boris Karloff as Ardath Bey and the paired swimming from Creature of the Black Lagoon are just so iconic.

The only one I didn't know was the . . . he almost looked like a pirate, with a skull face, dressed in red, and carrying a care with a skull top.

Can anyone shed some light, other old-horror aficionados?

Although, I love the make-up of the Phantom, I can’t say I ever enjoyed the movies.
Same. Thoughts on why?

I'm not entirely sure. For me, I've rather wondered if it's the plot line. Almost Beauty and the Beast like, though Beast ends up with Beauty. (BatB isn't a movie that appeals, either.) Though I did experience great enjoyment in Maskerade by Terry Pratchett, which was a parody of Phantom and murder mysteries.

Pratchett is hit or miss for me. I love a couple of the storylines in his Discworld series, but the others are just meh. The Witches and The City Watch, however. 🤣

Long live Granny Weatherwax! :p

Update:

The drought strikes again! This time it's a crack at the pump. The usual, fantastic plumber, I know is on his way to a northern state. But that's okay! From the pictures sent he thinks a well service is the way to go.

Wheeeeee! :p

Had a tree fall on the well casing up here once, but was able to get the company out within a day to pull all the flex pipe out and repair the full system . . . yes, the bane of living rural. :( . . . always have several gallon jugs stored just in case.
