Fall of an Empire

Kita

Krista raisted an eyebrow at the dark lord. She had heard the tales, and she head heard of a book hiden in such a place, but the book was told to hold far more than the directions to a great treasure. But then it depended on ones interpritation of treasure. This Dark Lord already held great power, and if he was to come into possesion of such a book, his powers could become more than increadable. She was never one to get involved in the problems of humanity, humanity caring little for her, but this was something that didn't sit well with her. Adding to this, the prospect of finding a treasure that could give her a name worth more than the youngest of thirteen daughters of a small time king. If nothing else, the chance for something a little more daring than a bar room brawl was quite enticing.

"If you could use an extra sword, i would all to happy to join you"

She picked up her wine and sipped it, watching the others carefully.

Folknar

Looking at Krista he smiled and said "I would be pleased to have you join me on this quest my Lady, and what of you Bolbar? Are you willing to join me? And what of the rest of you?" After he had finished saying this he watched the group to see their reactions...

Silverwolf

I , For one, Will accompany you.Not for the fortune but for any magic artifacts and the knowlege i can gain." He said as he laid a black handled dagger on the table to show his willingness.

Bolbar

Bolbar wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and grinned. "I go with you to Skulls. And no worry, Silverwolf," he said with a laugh. "You no want gold? I keep it for you, and you keep magic. Hah! And we all kill many goblins! Sklrokkkkulp..." This last as he drained his third mug of ale in one draught.

The figure approached Folknar hearing about his quest. She decided if he would allow her she would join. She had nothing better to do, plus she to had heard of the book and had been intrigued. This was a chance for adventure. She stood in front of him hesitated a moment and removed her hood. This revealed shining black hair and violet eyes with bits of gold in them." If you could use an extra sword I will happily help you. I am Drusilla of Aralia"

Folknar

Looking up at Drusilla in some surprise Folknar saw the gold flecks in the violet eyes. Thinking furiosuly to himself "I haven't seen one of those people in years, and even then it wasn't a real treat, course I was on the receiving end of that guys anger. Well, she doesn't seem to harbor me any anger so she may not be related to HIM.... Hmm, well nothing ventured nothing gained." Standing up he offered her a slight bow.. "I would be honored if someone of your reputation and abilities would be willing to join me and my companions on this quest."

Opening his arms wide to the group "I welcome you all on this expedition to the moutains. I am indeed honored that you all have chosen to join me on it, and I wish to but you all dinner." Sitting down again he pulled a map from the puch at his side and unrolled it on table. Pointing to a spot near two rivers he began speaking "This is where we are right now, and we need to get here.. (as he pointed to a spot deep in a moutain range nearly on the other side of the map) ...any thoughts on how we should get started?" Looking up at the group he waited to hear their suggestions...

silverwolf

" I would think that first we should plan a route to take.Thou it probably won't be for there will be mishaps along the way.that much i can sense."silvewolf said as he put his dagger away.

Randel looked up at the woman in shock and surprise and then looked at Folknar. He placed one hand down on the table and looked him in the face and said, "I will join you on this quest as you may need an extra blade and I have heard that there is something in the Skulls that I seek, if you will allow me to join your group."

Krista

Krista eyed the group that would be making this treck togehter. They were quite a mixed lot, and that in it's self was sure to be entertaining. Stll, if she was to make such a treck, she would be glad to have suck skilled blades at her siide. But then, she wondered, just how many of those blades could be trusted? She vowed then and there never to let down her guard.

silverwolf

"Falkner, When do you plan on leaving. For i am ready when you are." i said with an unusual gleam in my eye.

Folknar

Nodding towards Randel, he answered "I would be happy to have you along, especially with your fighting skills." Looking at silverwolf, he said "I think we should leave in about another day or so. We need to get supplies together and some of us need tomake arrangements for their things here in town. So I think we should meet here tomorrow morning for breakfast and then get our things." After he said that he went over to the inn keeper and made arrangements for rooms for the whole group then came back to the table and sat down.

"Here's what we are going to need to do. We need food, weapons, camping and climbing gear, and horses for some of us. Anyone want to volunteer to find these things? When we've got the jobs split up, see me tomorrow and I'll give you some money I have saved for this. Is that alright with everyone?"

Bolbar

"I go for horses," said Bolbar. "Need to find one big to hold me, huh huh"

Drusilla nodded to Falkner noticeing his slight uneasiness but choosing to ignore it. Aralians were not seen very often, they mostly stayed in Aralia a land of Magick far to the north. Not many people knew the way there. Drusilla herself had ran away from her home. She had to many bad memories and wished them away. She had come here about a week ago and visited this tavern quite often. She mostly kept to herself but today something had made her want to join Falkner whever that something was she had chosen to listen to it, She just hoped she didn't make a mistake.

End to the day...

Standing up Folknar nodded to the group and said "Bolbar, you go with Silver wolf here to find us all some mounts and pack horses. Drusilla, would you care to go with Lokken here, if he will come with us, and get camping supplies for us? Randel and Krista, would you please get together all the food supplies we will need? I will take care of the rest. So I will see you all tomorrow morning here for breakfast. And as I said earlier I have gotten all of you rooms if you wish them." Nodding to the group he walked around the table and headed for the stairs at the back of the inn.

While on the way, he stopped next to the inn keeper and said "My good man, my friends will be staying the night, treat them well please. And if someone should come anytime in the next two days looking for me, let me know as soon as possible." with that he placed a gold sovereign in the man's hand. "I will indeed my lord!" replied the inn keeper, as Folknar placed his foot on the stairwell..

Krista

Krista watched Flokner leave. He was a striking man, nad one well worth watching, for many reasons it would seem. Turning to Randel,

"It seems you and i have a task to get to, shall we go?"

Randel looked at Krista, "Seeming as we have something to do we should. I hope that you know this town though because I have no idea where I am sorry to say."

silverwolf

"Bolbar,Would you do me a favor.I have had my horse for a long time so i know not where to by horses.Show me so we may get some rest." I said with a yawn

Bolbar

Bolbar nodded his shaggy head. "You really tired, Silverwolf. You not hear Folknar say he got us rooms here. No worry," he said with a grin. "I show you the stairs. So tomorrow, if you got horse, we only need...um...five horses." He jumped up suddenly and looked to the ceiling. "Bed," he murmured. "Real bed!" He moved quickly to the staircase and started to climb, slapping Folknar on the back. "You good friend. Bolbar take care of you. All of you!" He ran the rest of the way upstairs, and the others heard a door slam, a heavy squeak from a suddenly-tortured bed, and a deep drawn-out sigh.

Folknar

Smiling Folknar watched Bolbar run up the stairs to his room. Shaking his head he finished climbing them and took to his own room. Sitting down on the bed he began to take off his hand blade, pulling the straps that held it off he drove it into the table in his room. Standing up he pulled off his cloak, clucked at the slash in it, hung it up and took off his boots. Pulling his tunic up over his head he washed the grime and blood from his body. Using the towel to dry his hair, he opened the window in his room to let in what little fresh air there was to be had. It was then he felt eyes on his back...

Krista

Slapping Randel on the shoulder, she gave him a warm smile.

"eye my friend, i know this place well enough, but for now, what say we do as the others are doing and get a goon nights sleep. We will work better when we're rested and fresh."

With that Krista turned and made her way up the staires to her room, looking forward to a hot bath and a good nights sleep.

silverwolf

I make my way to my room and lay on my bed but not quitee asleep. And i stay like this for the rest of the night

Drusilla stood in the store looking at equipmen. Lokken had yet to decide whether he was coming so she left to do this by herself. she mentally made a list of what they would need. "lets see they will need bedrolls also" grabbing a few she brought her supplies up to the counter paying for them. Stepping outside she walked over to her horse and put some of the supplies onto her back. "Sorry about this sweetie" she murmured soflty into the animals ear. The horse nuzzled her and she laughed softly as they headed back towards the tavern.

Folknar

Turning around Folknar looked at his new visitor then his face broke into a smile. Walking over he grabbed the figure in a bear hug, then let him down. Standing back he eyed his friend and said "Nikihail, I didn't know you had been stationed here!" Smiling the figure, who stood about 6 foot, and wore the cloak of the King's Rangers replied "I was just sent here actually, only two weeks ago in fact. But when I heard that a fight had erupted in a bar with some local toughs I knew it was you when they mentioned a one handed ass hole." At this they laughed and sat down to talk some more. Eventually the night came and Nikihail left and Folknar shut his door and went to sleep the sleep of the tired.

Drusilla arrived back at the tavern exhausted. Taking care of putting the supplies away she climbed the stairs to her room. She unstrapped her sword laying it against the wall near her bed. Changing into something more comfortable she climbed into bed. She curled onto her side closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep.

Randel went up to his room and after taking off his sword and clothing hopped into the bath and lay his head back. He then washed himself before he got out of the water and dried himself off. After he got dressed into some clean clothing he lay down on the bed and quickly fell asleep.
