Fangsome Foursome

IC: Jericho

Jericho had sneaked through the corridors once again back tracking back to the hallway they had been quartered in for the day.

Salvatore was still there still sitting like he was all that kept them from sneaking out, the stupid fuck. He hadn't even chased after Vincent when he left.

He deserved what was coming.

Jericho came up to him no longer caring about stealth. "Hey there Sally-Boy."

"Wha-" Salvatore shot up and pointed at him, "You're not supposed to be out of your rooms."

Jericho sighed. Finally, he would get to punch someone in the face. His fist made a satisfying crunch as it slammed into Salvatore's nose.

Salvatore reeled back clutching at his bleeding and broken nose. Jericho followed that with a hard jab at his side right in the left kidney. Then things got really fun.

Salvatore's big hands grabbed the fist he had aimed at his broken nose, and then Jericho was thrown hard into the door to Ondine's room. He landed face first onto the carpeted floor.

Shakily he got up laughing. He called back to the door he had just bounced off of. "Hey O., you're gonna miss all the fun."

"That's it," Salvatore had knocked over his chair and broken the leg. He pointed the sharp broken point of it at his chest. "You're gonna be dust, and that arrogant smart-mouth, Vincent too. I don't even care what father will do to me for it. It'll be worth it."

To that Jericho laughed and bounced on his feet like a boxer in a ring, "Hey come on O. wake up. How about a nice bout of violence. Its cleansing to the soul-that is if we still had a sou-hey!"

Salvatore charged then like a bloodied bull in the bullfights of old spain-with spear sticking out his sides and his vision filled with that fluttering matador's cape. Filled with rage, rash, and reckless.

Hurrah for fun and violence. Now that was living.

Vincent

Vincent wasn't even halfway back to their rooms when he heard the commotion that Jericho was causing. He couldn't help but smile, Jericho had a talent for causing havoc that simply couldn't be denied. He should probably do something before he and Salvatore wound up killing each other... probably.

He rounded the corner and saw the fight, he leaned against the wall in a nonchalant manner. Ondine was coming out of her room, he almost envied her the ability to commune with the void like she did. Vincent had learned long ago that the abyss held wonders, wonders that really weren't appreciated in this dimension like they should be.

"This really isn't helping anything Salvatore, but I know a way you can if you're so inclined."

The two halted for a moment, though Jericho couldn't help getting in another shot before he backed away.

"See if you can find Lucien for me. As talented as you are you can't take three of us, you seemed to be having enough problems with Jerry there."

Salvatore's eyes were burning, but he wasn't stupid. The wooden spear slowly lowered and he glowered at Vincent.

"I'm still going to kill you, both of you."

With his last threat made Salvatore left to see if he could find Lucien. Actually Vincent didn't care where he went so long as it was away from here. He smiled at Jericho and threw an arm around his shoulders.

"Well that was certainly fun. I think it's time we had a little more, don't you?"

Ondine~The Knowing

There was noise, the sounds of laughter. Ondine stopped, her head canted slightly to the left. With an effort, she brought her mind to the here and now, the present. Had that been Jericho's voice? The woman shook her head, slowly, left to right. Another sentence. It was Jericho.

"Hey come on O. wake up! How about a nice bout of violence? Its cleansing to the soul-that is if we still had a sou-hey!"

'I believe he is fighting.' 'NO? Really?' 'Stop being a smart ass.' 'Can you two please fucking quit?' 'She said the F word!' 'I think we have upset her...' 'No shit!' 'Are we gonna go help or not?' 'Of course!'

Ondine stood up, still clutching the arm of the chair she had destroyed when coming up from the abyss and moved soundlessly to the door. She pulled it open with one small hand and gazed, appalled, at the mess Salvatore was making of her love. She had just about decided to jump in when Vincent came strolling around the corner, looking as calm and centered as ever.

'He knows.' 'What?' 'He has an inkling of who set this in motion.' 'How do you know?' 'Yes, how do you?' 'All you have to do is pay attention his eyes...''ohyes..' 'He never could tell lies to me...'

Ondine dropped the chair's arm and advanced until she stood just between her lover and her Sire. She fixed her gaze upon the one she loved, slim fingers reaching up to brush his lips.

"He is here, yes? The mortal? The hunter, Holt. He has followed us and is in the process of dispatching the guards and delivering threats to have us sent out to him."

Ondine sighed softly, her almond shaped eyes burning blood red in the cave's low light. Obviously, the abyss hadn't given her enough time to make the warning mean something. It only served to alarm her. Then she turned slightly, eyes fixing on the front of her Father's shirt.

"And you? You think you know the who...even if you don't know the why, yes?"

Unlike her normal moods, when she was in the way of knowing? She was calm, centered and far more together than at any other time. Those who met her, at this moment, would never believe that she was insane, a broken thing, held together by spite and love, in equal measures. Right now? She was everything she could be...and more.

Her voice held a hint of steel, her eyes fading to their dark gleam as each new word fell from her pale lips.

'HE won't let her go, not even for Holt, not even to save the rest of his coven. He may give us up...but not her, not yet. So what do we do, Vincent? Hm? How do you propose we keep her safe?"

The words were coming slower, her head dropping the longer she spoke. By her final statements? The words were a whisper on the wind and all the more chilling because of it.

"If HE has decided to punish her? What is to stop him from killing us all? If HE has a hunter on call? What is to stop him from doing whatever HE wants? Will we survive?" A pause. "Will we even want to?"

IC: Alexander Holt

Through the high magnification scope of his custom-made sniper rifle Holt could see the doors to the vampire's nest. A bleeding corpse of the lone gaurd at the doors themselves lay at the foot of a shadowed alcove cut into the rock wall where the sunlight would never be able to reach the sentry inside.

It had been the only really challenging part of stripping the nest of its outer defences for him today. The only angle on the sentry he could get had been at the rifle's extreme range, and with the wind blowing one direction then another through the steep walls of this canyon, it would have been a shot for the record books.

He had taken his time, the sniper's secret, adjusted for the erratic gusts of wind to an anal-retentive degree, and on the exhale pulled the trigger. The sentry had gone down with a good sized hole between his eyes as all the others had.

The sun was beginning to set behind the western ridge of the canyon, and Holt was eating a couple powerbars and a bottle of water for supper. Soon they would come out looking for him. These vampires weren't as savy as the four he really wanted but they excelled at the same arrogance. They would come right through the booby traps he had laid for them and right into the shooting gallery of the open cliffside road.

He peered through the scope and breathed calmly. Soon.

A black shape blocked the scope. He pulled back to see Shadow standing in front of him.

"You shouldn't have come here, my dear friend," He said, "Just what do you seek to accomplish with this troublemaking."

He smiled up at the black cloaked phantom, "Old hunter's advice: if your quarry goes to ground leave no ground for him to go to."

"You seek to flush them out of the bunker."

He nodded.

"You should fall back," Shadow suggested, "Let them take refuge. You know how they are. They will be kicked out of the bombshelter as the consequences of their own actions."

"No," He said flatly checking the sights on his scope again.

"No?"

"That's right," Holt said smiling at him, "No."

"My friend..."

"I've thought it over shadow, and I am not playing games any longer," He twisted the nob of the windage gauge. "No more making them suffer. We end this tonight."

"That is not the plan," Shadow growled. That was odd. Shadow rarely ever broke his cool. Whatever, Holt didn't care anymore.

"Plans change," He said offhandedly.

Anger crackled in Shadow's voice, "Listen to me-"

"No." He pulled out the magazine to check his ammo. He had three more of the high impact hollow points that was so effective in the sniper's triangle even against stronger faster targets like vampires. He slid it back inside the rifle the click of it going into the action of the gun a comforting sound to his ear.

"I won't allow you to ruin everyting."

He laughed, "What the fuck can you do?" He stuck his arm out and passed it through the shadowed figure without any resistance, like he wasn't even there. "You're a fucking ghost. Nothing can touch you, but you can't touch anything either. That's why you needed me to do all your dirty work for you, Shadow. Now leave me the fuck alo-"

"Morestoromo Advecoloi Enn Incapalacia."

His head fell to the ground knocking his rifle out of the cradle of his shoulder. His arms and legs didn't respond to his attempts to move them. He tried to ask what Shadow had done to him but all that came out was a weak, "Grrmmmgh?"

Shadow remained regarding how powerless his one-time ally was now. "Surprisingly for your apparent inferiority you have proven to be a valuable minion to my plans, but your usefulness is at an end. My children will come for you tonight, and they will not be merciful." He turned to peer at the bunker his arms raising up to pull on his hood. "The spell I iused on you should last just long enough so you can give them a good accounting of yourself before their numbers overwhelm you. That is the only mercy I will grant you my friend."

"Farewell." Before his hands raised the hood to reveal his face to Holt's eyes Shadow winked out, gone.

Desperately Holt tried to force his body to move, but he lay still as the corpse of the vampire he had dropped at the bunker's door. He wanted to swear, to curse, to cry out his fury at Shadow's betrayal but all that came out was another weak, "Grrrmmmmgh!"

IC: Lucien

Lucien put the cloak back on the hat rack and stepped over to the black candles and burning incense dousing each one before crossing his sanctum over to the door of his study. Opening and closing it quickly so Darya and Karena couldn't see but a glimpse of what lay inside. It closed locking tight.

He found his two children sitting on the sofa Karena had laid upon before. In their hands were two of his antique china teacups of his privately preserved bloodstores. They had been heated up to close that of the temperature it was when it would have gushed into their mouth with the frantic heartbeat of a terrified victim. But it was a poor alternative from the fresh blood Karena was probably used to in her travels.

"Seems my two darling childers have made themselves at home," He smiled crossing over to them and sitting in his another throne-like wingedback chair opposite them. He studied them closely, "Darya, please marshal the children to search for a human intruder outside. You will find him under some brush on the western ridgeline of the canyon wall, and do not underestimate this man. He has hunted and killed our kind for many years now."

Once Darya had left to do as he asked he motioned Karena towards him. "It is time for your feeding my dear." He leveled her with a sensual look that told her he intended it to be so much more than her drinking blood from him.

Darya

A human hunter... probably the one that harmed her sister. She thought as she quickly went to summon all of the others. Not wishing to leave Ondine out of the hunt but knowing that the other two would wish to go with Ondine she quickly headed to find them. Seeing Salvatore she hissed at him...

Idiot... round up the others a hunter is near... West ridge. Our guests and I will lead the hunt.

Without waiting to hear the expected bitching she continued on her way to first find Ondine Vincent and Jericho.

There is a human hunter on the western ridge... you all arrived from the west it is a safe bet that it is the vermin that poisoned my sister? The 4 of us will lead the others. Before you say anything Vincent yes they will follow me and obey my orders... they do so with me out of loyalty instead of the fear they feel for Lucien but that will change.

With that she was hurrying down the hall in no way hiding anything she did from the three including her stopping at a door in a portion of the winding hallways leading to a Western facing exit. She opened the door revealing a small but comfortable room with a few people in it and giving one simple order to the ones within.

Its time... Remain inside and do what you know to do... This will ALL be over soon.

She reached a hand to touch the cheek of the one that neared her. with a hopeful smile poorly masked by a soldiers demeanor.

I promise. Just do what you each know to do and be careful.

With that Darya smiled... a genuine smile not hiding it from anyone even Vincent... as she then closed the door again and quickly continued to the exit.

Ondine I have a plan... We make him thing he has caused hysteria among the vampires and one of their victims has escaped... I can make him see what I want him to see but it is a power that works best when injured and need to lure prey closer than normal. I get pushed behind him hopefully so he has someone to "protect" only for him to find out too late as we rip this hunter to ribbons for the poisoning of my... Our Karena.

She glanced to Vincent and Jericho strangely she wanted all of them in on the plan... they really were all united when it came to Karena after all.

So who wants to take the first shot?

Karena

Standing slowly and wobbly she smiled to him walking over her own smile saying she expected more than just blood from him. Standing there looking down into his eyes her fangs slowly extending as her eyes studied his face trying to see the man she knew so long ago before he became so empty and self destructive.

Vincent

Vincent grinned at Ondine, he could never hide things from her. It was scary in some aspects, to know he had succeeded so fully with her. His arm was still around Jericho's shoulders as his eyes met Ondine's.

"What will we do my dear? There are two ways to attack someone's plans, one to lay plans against theirs. I'm working on that angle. The other, what you two are best at, throw a monkey wrench into the works."

Before there was a chance for elaboration on his part the signs of mobilization became evident. Ondine was right, she usually was, Holt was here. Probably tracked them, he was very good at that. Darya found them next, explaining the situation and leading them towards an entrance. Vincent smiled softly, Holt was another example of a monkey wrench in the works. Some things just couldn't really be planned for. Well, not unless you really knew what you were doing.

"Jericho, stay close to Ondine. I want to know as soon as she picks up that scent again, and I'm almost positive she will. We know Holt's methods, but they don't, and I don't know about you two but I wont shed a tear if a few of Lucien's goons don't quite make it back after this."

Vincent would have to take Darya at her word that she could control the other vampires out in the hunting party, and take her word that she knew his location. He didn't ask how she knew, he didn't need to. That all but confirmed that somehow Lucien was behind this, to some extent at least. He looked around at the terrain, if Holt was indeed where Darya said he was the obvious approach would be pretty much straight ahead.

That also mean Holt had likely set counter-measures there. Vincent waited and looked, there was a way Holt didn't booby-tap. He wasn't planning a suicide mission here, so where would he leave his back door?

It took a minute or two but Vincent saw it. A creek bed that led towards the ridge where Holt was supposed to be. Holt would have the ability to shoot there, but could also escape through it if necessary. Tactically a superior position, but Vincent was willing to take that route.

"You two stay with the main party, I've got another direction I want to try."

It took Vincent less time than he expected to reach the ridge, and from there he could smell Holt. A minute or so and he'd discovered his position, Holt was laying down apparently unable to move.

"Hello Holt."

Vincent stepped into his line of sight and leaned down, picking the limp body up and sitting it up against the trunk of a tree. The former Green Barret couldn't move his body, but his eyes seethed with hatred.

"I'm actually glad we got some time to ourselves. I've never had the chance to really talk with you since you... well you know."

Vince sat on a log in front of Holt, fingers laced together and his chin resting on them.

"You have no idea how proud I am of you Holt. Second only to Ondine, you're a great creation. You had tons of internal fortitude you know, more so than anyone I've met. Most fathers would have sobbed uncontrollably as their daughter drank them dry. I've seen it before, the total and utter despair that comes over them when everything around them withers and dies. My own father didn't resist at all when his time came, didn't have any tears left to shed, his heart rate was exceptionally low too. He'd given up, totally and utterly broken by seeing his wife, and two living children killed."

Vincent's ice blue eyes seemed to have some fire behind them now as he looked into Holt.

"I expected you to just lay down and die there holding your wife's body. Instead you overpowered your daughter and dusted here right there in your living room."

One eyebrow raised slightly.

"Didn't know I was watching? How could I pass that up? I could practically taste it, the ecstasy of grief you felt. I killed you that night Holt, not physically of course, but in every other way. Killing is so merciful after all. After you staked her I thought you'd swallow your Baretta, but you didn't disappoint. You left everything in that house with them, every bit of you that mattered. A machine fueled on hate is a temporary thing Holt, your time is almost up and you can see it."

Vincent smiled.

"If you'd ever actually killed us, do you know what would happen next? I do. You've been resisting all that grief, all that guilt, all of it. You've been stuffing it down into you, existing just on the clarity of the hatred you feel for us, for me. If you ever did kill us it would all hit you. You'd drop to your knees, overcome by the enormity of what you've become. What I've made you. Then you'd blow your brains out. Now you're worried you wont get to kill us, that all that hate will have been for nothing. Think what you've lost Holt, not just who, but what."

Vincent could see Holts fingers starting to stir. The spell was still mostly effective, but it would be gone when the main group got here.

"You're not a man anymore. A man has a soul, a heart, a conscience, compassion, empathy. You've seen us kill, you've let it happen to give you a chance to kill us. Inside you're as dead as I am on the outside Holt. Everything that made you a man you left behind, you stripped from yourself to try and kill me. The sad thing is Holt, you can't. I'm a monster, and that's what you've become to try and kill me. But you can't, only a man can defeat a monster Holt, and you're not a man anymore."

Vincent stood and dusted off his jeans.

"You should be able to speak now, beyond those grunting sounds you've been making to this point. I just want to know who gave you the poison you used on Karena. I might spare you further suffering if you do."

IC: Jericho

"Hey come on O. wake up! How about a nice bout of violence? Its cleansing to the soul-that is if we still had a sou-hey!" He sidestepped just moments before Salvatore slammed into him and pinned against the hard unyeilding concrete wall of the corridor.

Ondine's door opened and Jericho smiled to her, "Hey babe, feel like a little violence to get the blood pumping." His fists slammed into Sal's ears.

Salvatore staggered back shaking his head.

Jericho looked at where the broked chair leg had grazed his side. If he hadn't stepped to the side..."Missed my heart," He laughed winking to O. To Salvatore he taunted, "If this is how good your aim is, Sally, it's no wonder you stay in this cavern licking Lucien's shoes clean."

"You son-of-bi-"

Vincent had come around the corner and leaned against the wall arms crossed. "This really isn't helping anything Salvatore, but I know a way you can if you're so inclined."

What did he mean by that? Was Vincent going to try to ruin his fun? That would be just like the bastard?

"What do you-" Jericho moved then using some of that kung fu Vincent had shown him in Shanghai he took hold of the chair leg and wrenched it loose followed by an elbow to the vampire's broken nose.

He smiled cockily to Sally as he backed away, daring him to come after him, though if he did Vince would probably kill him before he made two steps, the spoilsport.

Ondine had come up to Vincent facing him and quietly stated, "He is here, yes? The mortal? The hunter, Holt. He has followed us and is in the process of dispatching the guards and delivering threats to have us sent out to him."

He nodded, "Yeah, I heard the fucker over the radio tell these pussies to kick us out so he can kill us." He looked to Vincent, "I think its that time where we just kill the guy. He's no longer so much fun anymore."

Ondine stared into Vincent's eyes, 'HE won't let her go, not even for Holt, not even to save the rest of his coven. He may give us up...but not her, not yet. So what do we do, Vincent? Hm? How do you propose we keep her safe?"

"See if you can find Lucien for me. As talented as you are you can't take three of us, you seemed to be having enough problems with Jerry there."

Sal had picked up the chairleg and glared at both him and Vincent. "I'm still going to kill you, both of you." But the chair leg lowered and Savatore nodded and turned to leave.

Jericho glowered at Vincent, "Damn it I was trying to have some fun."

Before Vincent could reply Darya came around the corner to see them all. "There is a human hunter on the western ridge... you all arrived from the west it is a safe bet that it is the vermin that poisoned my sister?" She said.

"No kidding, precious," Jericho smirked, "Just what do you dolts plan to do about him?"

She didn't dignify responding to him, "The 4 of us will lead the others. Before you say anything Vincent yes they will follow me and obey my orders... they do so with me out of loyalty instead of the fear they feel for Lucien but that will change."

Vincent said, "What will we do my dear? There are two ways to attack someone's plans, one to lay plans against theirs. I'm working on that angle. The other, what you two are best at, throw a monkey wrench into the works."

Jericho smiled, "You have a plan."

"Jericho, stay close to Ondine. I want to know as soon as she picks up that scent again, and I'm almost positive she will. We know Holt's methods, but they don't, and I don't know about you two but I wont shed a tear if a few of Lucien's goons don't quite make it back after this."

"Like our good buddy Salvatore for one."

Darya came back and explained a plan that Jericho doubted Holt would fall for, but he looked at O. and nodded, "Sure why not?"

They followed after her and when they exited the great doors of the bomb shelter Jericho saw that the valley was fast falling under the cloak of twilight. Many of Lucien's coven were heading up the road. Suddenly there was a loud boom and several fell.

"The fucker's got the road boobytrapped," He told Ondine and Vincent.

"You two stay with the main party, I've got another direction I want to try."
Vincent told them and headed down to the dried up creek bed at the canyon's floor.

He and Ondine caught up with Darya, "Easy, Precious." As more vampires rushed past them and up the road. Further down there was another explosion. "Let the boobies find the boobytraps."

They came up the road slower more carefully. Stepping over dead or wounded vampires. One of them was Salvatore. He was missing a leg from the knee down and a wooden stake was imbedded in his chest. It had just missed his heart.

He reached a hand up. "Help me," he grated weakly.

Jericho smiled to Ondine conspiratorily. "Sure we'll help you, Sally." He pulled out the stake making the wounded vampire groan from the pain. "O. here will take good care of you." He gave her a evil wink slipping the stake into her hand and pointing it the centimeter to the left over Salvatore's chest where it would have peirced his heart.

He had made sure Darya wouldn't have been able to see it, and then he rose and turned to her. "Darya, is there any other way around to the western ridge than this road? Holt's obviously got it well landmined. We'll get blown to shredded hamburger going this way."

Ondine~Wood Walk

It is in the trying times that everything either falls apart or comes together. As usual, Ondine wasn't sure which way the cookie would crumble until well after the fact but thinking things through wasn't her strong suit. Nor would it ever have to be. That was why she had Jericho, Vincent, Karena. They thought. Plotted. Planned.

She didn't. Couldn't.

Her Maker had seen to that, breaking and reforming her into a barely patched up mess. Strong in the touch. Fierce in a fight, but deep thought was no longer her forte'. Not in a way that made sense to others'.

'Are you whining?' "As if. I don't whine.' 'Sounds like you are.' 'Uh-huh.' 'Watch out, there's a bomb there.' 'I saw the trip wire.' 'Sure, sure.' 'Hell with you.'

So she followed the others, at her lover's insistence. At her maker's insistence. She walked the outer path ways that she KNEW were mined and trapped, allowing her mind to remain above it all. Avoiding the traps with an odd sort of luck. At least until they stumbled upon Salvatore in the road.

'Oh. My.' 'He looks rather stuck.' 'Heh. Heh.' 'Wait, Jericho is talking.'

Almond shaped eyes focused on her lover, mobile mouth grinned at his words and the feel of a sharpened stake in her hand.

"O. here will take good care of you."

She waited, until Jericho had led Darya away and then knelt in the loam beside the male who had threatened her love, again...and again.

'You've been a VERY bad host Salvatore. Very bad. But that is okay. You won't get a chance to do it, again."

The words were husky, not her usual tone, not her usual voice. Didn't matter. Ondine leaned in...and delicately placed the stake in the correct position and began to push. When he opened his mouth to scream? She used her empty hand to snatch his tongue out.

The stake took a few minutes to properly penetrate.

He writhed and made wordless noises, all the while.

She giggled.

'Dream sweet, you fucker."

The stake punctured the heart, squarely. The male twitched and died...though if he was already dead by human standards? Ondine guessed one should call it...an ending.

Rising to her feet, she snatched his hair and yanked his head off, tossing it into the woods on the other side of the road. He would not get the chance to come back. He would not get the chance to hurt what was hers. She kicked the body with one small foot...and watched as it began to slowly dissolve into ash.

Then she turned away...and hurried to catch up with her love...and Darya.

Michalina~An Intro

Her Sire had stopped to give the word. Julien would be ending soon. Freedom was at hand. At least that is what the new one heard. That is what she ALWAYS heard. She had rested her face in Darya's hand, her cheek fitting perfectly into the hand that stroked, cupped, soothed.

"Are you sure, Darya? What should we do? What would you have us do?"

"I promise. Just do what you each know to do and be careful. "

She curtsied and then turned to the few others in her suite, her long braided hair whipping about in a frenzy.

"Time to get to work. Most of the old one's are gone. Start gathering supplies, store them in the outlying areas. If Darya and the three troublesome one's return? We have to be ready. YOU!"

One slender finger jabbed toward the other female.

"Get the weaponry we have stashed by the East exit. Darya and the others may have a need for it."

She turned away, adjusting the long linen skirt that brushed her toes.

"I will be keeping a look out. You know where...the control rooms. Just in case he comes a long."

Darya

She nodded to Jericho and quickly back tracking to what looked like a little nook in the wall she quickly pressed on an overly smooth spot and a pressure release lock popped open revealing a rough carved tunnel leading to a cave and out up higher on the ridge.

There is always another way Jericho even if Lucien doesn't know it exists. Do not think I do not smell Sal's blood. A casualty of an even bigger war than you four can fathom.

She ran faster along the path it was well sheltered and shaded for better hiding from their prey.

IC: Lucien

Once Darya had left to do as he asked he motioned Karena towards him. "It is time for your feeding my dear." He leveled her with a sensual look that told her he intended it to be so much more than her drinking blood from him.

Standing slowly and wobbly she smiled to him walking over her own smile saying she expected more than just blood from him. Standing there looking down into his eyes her fangs slowly extending as her eyes studied his face trying to see the man she knew so long ago before he became so empty and self destructive.

"Do you remember the night I granted you new life in my embrace, free of your illness, the restraints of your human conscience, the lash of death and age at your back, my sunshine?" Lucien reached out and traced his finger over the lines of her hand. "I have not forgotten it, even after all these long years."

His fingers closed around her hand and he pulled her down into his lap. "Do you remember how I gave you all that you wished for, my dear one. Whatever possession you desired, whomever you wanted to devour." His other hand came up behind her to the back of her neck and pulled her to face him eye to eye. "Do you remember what I promised you that first night of your immortality as we reveled in our mutual passions atop the desecrated and blood-spattered altar of the god who refused you the mercy I granted to you?"

His hand slid up the inside of her thigh, fingers lightly trailing the fabric of her pants. "I promised that you were mine, and we would be together for the rest of our immortal lives." Their came a snap as his fingers unbuttoned her pants and his fingers slipped within them. His cold grey eyes bore into her deep blue ones as one entered within her. "Do you remember what you promised to me that night, Karena?" His thumb began to caress and tease her clit as his finger pushed and pulled in and out of her.

"Tell me you remember, my sunshine." His tongue extended past his lips and caressed the contour of her left fang from where it emerged from her gumline over the porcelain white enamel to the needle sharp point. A little pressure and the fang's tip pierced his tongue. A crimson drop of his blood welled up on the tip of his tongue which he smeared over hers as his fingers drove in and out of her and his eyes never left hers.

IC: Jericho

He had made sure Darya wouldn't have been able to see it, and then he rose and turned to her. "Darya, is there any other way around to the western ridge than this road? Holt's obviously got it well landmined. We'll get blown to shredded hamburger going this way."

With a nod she led them back to what looked like a crease within the canyon's wall. "There is always another way Jericho even if Lucien doesn't know it exists." She said reaching over to it and a section of the cliffwall opening up like a door to reveal a tunnel. She looked back at them as Ondine came to join them the deed he left her to done. "Do not think I do not smell Sal's blood."

He looked back to Ondine and took her in his arms. "And what are you gonna do about it?"

"A casualty of an even bigger war than you four can fathom."

They followed after Darya then inside the tunnel. It was lined with crossbows, axes, swords, stakes. "You've been planning some mischief for a long time, haven't you," He whistled hefting a large doubleheaded battleaxe, "Darya, I think you just earned my respect."

He raised and offered Ondine a pair of katanas. "Your favorites love. It'll be just like that time with those Samurai losers in Yokohama, remember?" When she took them he trapped her in his arms using the axe to pull her close to share a hungry kiss with her.

Then the kiss broken he let her go and they began to run down the tunnel following Darya then. Jericho's axe hefted cockily over his shoulder. "Now let's go be monsters."

Darya

Your respect... interesting... We have to move quickly before other events begin to unfold here. Matters are far beyond what the four of you cause and time now will change that.

She glanced off to one side nodding to three fairly gruesome looking shaved gorilla males. They simply grunted and tossing her a rifle as they turned heading back down the hall the other way. She smirked almost a feral smirk as she continued along with Jericho and Ondine.

Once we have dealt with this hunter I will go and get Karena. If any of you wish to go with me that is fine.

Karena

Curling into his arms she smiled nodding.

Yes... I remember...

Her eyes soft staring into his she felt his fingers and the kiss she reached a hand up to his cheek lost in his eyes as she then tasted the rich ancient blood and seemed to purr at the taste hunger picking up like a wildfire. Her eyes flashing smiling into the kiss her tongue dancing more with his as her eyes finally fell closed at the spike to her system of even such a small amount of such ancient blood.

IC: Alexander Holt

"Grrmmggh!"

Holt tried desperately again to move, but it was no use he was effectively completely paralyzed. He could hear the explosions as the mines he had hidden along the road up along the cliff face blew one by one, closer and closer. Soon they'd be past his booby traps. He was running out of time.

Damn Shadow straight to hell, whoever he was. He had stabbed him in the back and left him like a trussed up rabbit as bait for the bear.

"Grrrmmmmgh!"

He tried again and was rewarded with the tensing of a few disparate muscles in his arms and legs. It wasn't enough to move, but it was a good sign that he was getting over whatever the hell Shadow had done to him.

What was it? Hypnotism? Drugs? Some crazy spell? A few years ago he would've laughed at that possibility: witches, wizards, voodoo, magic...vampires. He never laughed anymore.

He could hear someone coming from the other way. From the creek bed, his escape route. Great. Even if he could move he'd be trapped here on the ridge line.

"Hello Holt."

"Grrrmmmgh," He grunted as he recognized the voice of the man coming upon him. He struggled trying in vain to move his arm as hard as he could for the rifle that had fallen on its side at his shoulder.

He could see him now his shoes were splattered with mud from crossing the streambed. Vincent. The monster that had taken everything worthwhile from Holt. There was only one thing left for him to take now.

"My little Hannah. My beautiful Claire. I'm sorry I failed you. I'm sorry that with the things I've done now if there is a heaven I won't be heading there to join you."

Vincent bent down and grabbed him by the collar of his camo-jacket. He was propelled hard against a tree banging the back of his head hard enough that for a brief moment he saw double. But he still looked on the blurred dual-Vincent's with all the hatred he had stored deep down since that horrible night everything had been taken from him.

"I'm actually glad we got some time to ourselves," Vincent said casually like they were actually the best of friends talking of the weather over a pitcher of cold beer. Holt wanted to scream. He wanted to vent the rage, the hatred, all the pain and darkness he had swallowed down. Spew it out in fiery vengeance but all he could manage was a futile shiver and empty grunt. "I've never had the chance to really talk with you since you... well you know."

That brought another grunt and momentary tensing of muscles. His vision cleared and he saw the smug face of the monster he most wanted to kill continue his casual conversation.

"You have no idea how proud I am of you Holt," He said sitting down on a log across from him. Another explosion boomed as the vampires from the nest reached the final killing ground of his landmines. "Second only to Ondine, you're a great creation. You had tons of internal fortitude you know, more so than anyone I've met." He continued, "Most fathers would have sobbed uncontrollably as their daughter drank them dry. I've seen it before, the total and utter despair that comes over them when everything around them withers and dies."

Oh he had died that night, the moment Holt ended the abomination Vincent and the others had made of his little girl he had died with her.

"My own father didn't resist at all when his time came, didn't have any tears left to shed, his heart rate was exceptionally low too. He'd given up, totally and utterly broken by seeing his wife, and two living children killed." Vincent continued his eyes burning with more than the casual air he had affected mockingly before with relating the death of his father, "I expected you to just lay down and die there holding your wife's body. Instead you overpowered your daughter and dusted here right there in your living room."

He didn't need to hear the play by play. Holt had relived every moment of that night over and over again until it was etched forever in his memory. But how did Vincent know what he had done-unless he had been ther-

An eyebrow raised and he smirked, "Didn't know I was watching? How could I pass that up?"

The fact that Vincent had stayed behind and watched that moment was a violation, but then that's what this sick demented animal did best, right...violate.

"I could practically taste it, the ecstasy of grief you felt. I killed you that night Holt, not physically of course, but in every other way."

Holt knew he was right. He had often thought that he had buried all that was good in him with the ashes of his wife and daughter.

"Killing is so merciful after all," He continued, "After you staked her I thought you'd swallow your Baretta, but you didn't disappoint. You left everything in that house with them, every bit of you that mattered."

The explosions faded now and they could hear them rushing, limping up the road thirsting for some payback.

"A machine fueled on hate is a temporary thing Holt, your time is almost up and you can see it."

He needed to get up to fight. Eventhough he was outnumbered, outmatched. He wasn't going to go down without making a fight of it, but he was sure as hell gonna take some of these bastards with him-he wasn't going to go down without wiping that smug smirk off Vincent's face.

His fingers curled.

"If you'd ever actually killed us, do you know what would happen next? I do," Vincent stated, "You've been resisting all that grief, all that guilt, all of it. You've been stuffing it down into you, existing just on the clarity of the hatred you feel for us, for me. If you ever did kill us it would all hit you. You'd drop to your knees, overcome by the enormity of what you've become. What I've made you. Then you'd blow your brains out."

Holt had not thought of what he'd do when he finally ended Vincent and the others. He had sacrificed everything, focused all that was left after the night Claire and Hannah was taken from him on the moment of vengeance. He had no room beyond that to conceive of anything afterwards. He would most likely end his life as he did. Life without his wife and daughter, without the peices of himself he had to sacrifice to move on...it would not be worth living. It didn't matter now, it looked like he wasn't going to avenge them.

"Now you're worried you wont get to kill us, that all that hate will have been for nothing. Think what you've lost Holt, not just who, but what."

He had gotten close once to finishing it. He had tracked them to a school dormitory, but he had allowed himself to be sidetracked from killing them to save some of the children. He had gone back to end it, but the four of them were gone by then. He found out in the paper later that the schoolbus the children had fled in had crashed into a tree and their bodies had been attacked by some sort of animals that had inexplicably bitten their necks and drained their blood. He was looking into the eyes of one of the unknown animals now. That night he had ceased caring over innocent bystanders-afterall there was always collateral damage in war.

From then on he had stalked them, watched as they hunted, tormented, fed from and killed men...women...and children without ever batting an eye. He might've saved them, but he did nothing but wait and plan his own revenge.

"You're not a man anymore. A man has a soul, a heart, a conscience, compassion, empathy. You've seen us kill, you've let it happen to give you a chance to kill us. Inside you're as dead as I am on the outside Holt," Vincent summed it up, "Everything that made you a man you left behind, you stripped from yourself to try and kill me. The sad thing is Holt, you can't. I'm a monster, and that's what you've become to try and kill me. But you can't, only a man can defeat a monster Holt, and you're not a man anymore."

He stood up brushing the dirt and mud off his pants, "You should be able to speak now, beyond those grunting sounds you've been making to this point," He said in the mocking casual air, "I just want to know who gave you the poison you used on Karena."

The words came slowly, low and mumbled, "W-w-w-why w-w-w-would I t-tell you anything?"

"I might spare you further suffering if you do."

"S-s-suffering," He laughed a wheezing weak laugh. "W-what more could you do to m-me? W-what else is there for you to take?"

The Vampires were coming up the ridge from the road now, bloody, angry, vengeful. Holt rolled over and slowly rose to his knees then his feet. He pulled out his K-bar from the back of his belt in a weak shaking hand. "You want to know, Vincent. I'll tell you if you keep them off me."

Vincent

"W-what more could you do to m-me? W-what else is there for you to take?"

Vincent couldn't stop the smile that spread across his lips at those words.

"So young..."

It was said more to himself than anything, his perfect memory flashing back to the way he'd stood outside his old house with Karena. He'd been so young, so stupid, thinking he'd triumphed over his father. Technically he had of course, but Karena's words still rang in his ears.

"You're victory over him took mere minutes, but his defeat of you will last lifetimes."

How right she'd been, of course he could see it now. There are some things that only age can teach. Vincent watched Holt stagger to his feet, reaching for his knife as the vampires came up the hill. He didn't even need to look at them, he knew Jericho and Ondine would be elsewhere.

"You want to know, Vincent. I'll tell you if you keep them off me."

"An interesting proposition Holt, but we both know you can't be trusted. You're just a pawn in a much larger game right now old friend."

As the first of the vampires came over the hill Vincent hooked his boot under the rifle and tossed it up and into his waiting hands. The poor dumb creature never even knew what had hit it.

"But even pawns have their uses."

Holt was still weak, but Vincent knew how to fight these things. Trained by Lucien or Salvatore or not, they lacked true experience. Most of them had probably never had to fight someone using a firearm, and Vincent had all of Holts wonderful tools at his disposal. After the first few were dropped the others came slower, wary of some kind of trap.

Vincent tossed the rifle aside when the magazine had run out. He was careful to toss it away from Holt, no need to take stupid risks. The first one that actually made it up the hill drew up short, unsure of what was happening. Vincent threw an improvised stake through his heart and grabbed the sword from his grip before he fully turned to dust.

"Oh this is definitely going to be fun."

Ondine~Fangs for the Memories

She walked. Floated. Something. Following behind the others until they reached a cavern where Darya pointedly explained just how much history she and her love had missed by being so young, so...carefree.

Not that it mattered. None of it mattered. Ondine couldn't find it within her cold, dark expanse of a heart to really give a fuck. What did ancient history have to do with her family, not counting Karena? Who cared about a fight for independence, especially an independence that should have been taken a lifetime ago?

What mattered, what had always mattered, was keeping the core family together.

'Too stupid to figure it out.' 'Yes. 'Who has time to listen to their endless prattle?' 'Not I.' 'Nor I. There is blood to be spilled.' 'Lots of blood.'

She could feel the smile that grew from the thoughts and could not control it. She saw the sharp blood bringers being handed to her and the grin broadened further.

"Your favorites, love. It'll be just like that time with those Samurai losers in Yokohama, remember?"

He brought her in close and ravaged her mouth his own. Her heart opened. To him, for him and when he released her? His last sentence drew an answering giggle from her throat.

"Now let's go be monsters."

"Oh yes, let's."

She turned away and followed Jericho and Darya into the deepening gloom. After all, one could not be monstrous without victims. And it didn't hit her until a little while later that Darya had said they were going to rescue Karena, after they killed the hunter.

IC: Lucien

"Tell me you remember, my sunshine." His tongue extended past his lips and caressed the contour of her left fang from where it emerged from her gumline over the porcelain white enamel to the needle sharp point. A little pressure and the fang's tip pierced his tongue. A crimson drop of his blood welled up on the tip of his tongue which he smeared over hers as his fingers drove in and out of her and his eyes never left hers.

"Yes," She curled into his and nodded, "I remember."

She ran a hand over the side of his cheek and for a moment they were once again in those halcyon days when Lucien felt nothing but love for this tiny fragile being and was certain such emotion was returned from her. She purred at the taste of him, having been starved on watered down human trash for two centuries. Her eyes closed.

Reluctantly he pulled away his tongue lingering still with hers. His fingers raised his two fingers covered in the proof of how much she remembered. He slipped the juice covered fingers over her tongue then his, and it was indeed a reminder.

It brought him back to the night of their first time within the church he had turned her in only hours before. After eviscerating the priests there they had made love on the altar of the human's god and tasted eachother for hours on end.

Those were the golden years.

Karena

She did remember... When he was love... when he was kind... when there was more to live than his dark pursuits and hiding like rats. In all honesty she missed those days. Hugging him closer still she smiled staring into his eyes. Wishing she saw what she remembered. Wishing once more that Vincent could have met Lucien before the darkness and cruelty.

Watching him taste her on his fingers she smiled curling in close her eyes drifting closed again getting lost in memories of far happier time with him.

IC: Jericho

"Now let's go be monsters."

"Oh yes, let's."

"Tha's my girl." He laughed lifting the axe over on his shoulders and strutting after Darya down the tunnel around the valley onto the ridge Lucien's loser vampires fighting Vincent and Holt together.

Jericho never thought he'd see the day they were fighting side by side. The next thing would happen was Vincent would get pussy-whipped by a slayer. Like that would ever happen.

He looked to O. "Just like Yokohama," He nodded then to Darya, "Stay back and take potshots at them when you get a clear shot." He hefted the large axe. "Let's go have some fun."

He and Ondine charged up the hill. Vincent was fighting well, but he didn't have much room to manuever on the ridge top and Holt probably wasn't the best guy for him to turn his back on in a fight. Also both of them were outnumbered by a margin of ten to one. Jericho wasn't about to let the two of them have all the fun and violence.

He smiled at that thought as he and Ondine came upon the vampires from behind. He called out to the first one, "Hey look behind you."

The vampire turned to see what he meant only to get a glimpse of his axe's edge before it cleaved off the top half of his head. The vampire fell turning to dust before it could drop to his knees. That got the other Vampires' attention and he and O. were soon fighting back to back spinning to engage random vampires in quick lethal bursts of violence before taking out the one Ondine's opponent in a beautiful ballet of synchronicity and teamwork-just like their fun out on the town slaughtering those samurai losers in Yokohama.

These vampires hadn't been out and about in the world...a couple knew their ass from their elbow in martial arts, but Darya seemed to relish picking those off leaving only the slow dumb fucks against him and O. Two had realized they were being sniped by Darya, and they angrily charged her incensed by her betrayal.

That left six against the two of them.

Well, it sucked to be them, didn't it?

Darya

Dane... Hallie... Markos... Phillipe One by one the more combative more lethal brethren fell. Falling to a creation from the depths of her own mind. A simple fragmenting bullet which contained a little favor from a priest she once allowed to live. Little splinters of blessed sacred wood. Death would be slow and painful sealed in a body they could no longer move nor feed with. A handful of bullets she has kept close for such a day.

She used them today knowing that not only was this their final chance for true escape and freedom but that in some way she had to protect Karena's family while she could not. Her eyes were blood red her face transformed and fangs bared as the last potential threat to Karena's bloodline turned charging at her.

BRING IT SAMUEL... Charging she laughed taking time to toy with this one letting his rage guide his predictable mistakes till finally their circling fight ended with the two of them face to face and his rage so intent he did not feel the steel resting at his chin as she traced his lips with her tongue and pulled the trigger.

IC: Alexander Holt

The Vampires were coming up the ridge from the road now, bloody, angry, vengeful. Holt rolled over and slowly rose to his knees then his feet. He pulled out his K-bar from the back of his belt in a weak shaking hand. "You want to know, Vincent. I'll tell you if you keep them off me."

"An interesting proposition Holt, but we both know you can't be trusted," Vincent considered, "You're just a pawn in a much larger game right now old friend."

Holt eyes narrowed but nodded at the truth of what he said. He couldn't trust Vincent and Vincent couldn't trust him. That was the undeniable mutual truth.

"But even pawns have their uses." Vincent kicked his custom rifle into the first vampire to reach them, and quickly dispatched him and the others.

Holt was still weak and shaken by whatever Shadow had done to him. If he tried to go toe to toe with stronger faster vampires right now he'd be done for. He needed to do his damage at a distance-it was how he had learned how to fight them anyway. His thrown knife embedded into the eye of the first to skirt around Vincent to engage him. The blade had been dipped in garlic oil.

She screamed in agony pulling out the knife and the eyeball it had skewered out staggering back and knocking another too close to Vincent which he quickly turned to a pile of ash.

Two more were coming leaping over the rolling one eyed woman clutching at her swelling wound. He ducked and rolled under the swing of one toward his discarded pack. The second pulled him up his arms wrapped around him like steel cables.

The first came up to face him. His fist landed solidly against the side of Holt's face followed by the left, then another right. He raised his hand between them. Opened it when they looked down at the grenade he had been holding. Unpinned he dropped it to the ground between them.

The flash bang went off and Holt was dropped as the world shook and blurred from the concussion of it. The two vampires staggered back wiping eyes or cupping their ears.

However Holt was expecting it he was already scrambling for his pack feeling for his weapon. His fingers found it. The first vampire grabbed him by the hair wrenching his head back painfully.

"I'm gonna feast on your blood, bas-"

The baretta he had pulled from his pack slid into his mouth, the barrel pressing into the roof of his mouth pointing directly up to his brain.

"Eat this," He growled pulling the trigger and putting in an airhole in the top of the Vampire's head.

He turned on his knees shucking off the dead weight pulling his pistol out in search of another target. The second vampire's hand clamped over his stopping its progress. He fired again. Taking a good chunk of the vampire's thigh, but fleshwounds didn't phase vampires and this one was royally pissed. A twist of the hand around his wrist and the beretta fell to the ground. The other hand slid around his throat and crushed the air.

Holt tried to pull the hand from his larynx as he coughed and croaked feebly for a breath.

This one was tall, almost seven feet tall, and he raised him up at armslength so his feet dangled inches from the ground. But he had his back to Vincent and so did not see what was about to happen to him next.

Michalina~in the guard post

There was no fighting in the cavern. No outlying bad ass monsters that needed to prove their loyalty to the miserly son of a whore who had caused them to come together, to live in this pestilent hell hole.

The female slipped easily from the cave and made her way to the eastern most guard post, the one where the first set of guards had been hastily and thoroughly dispatched. The scent of old blood was on the air, but by the time she reached the look out, all that was left of the guards were ashes, being dispersed by the wind.

She hastily scrambled upward and made herself comfortable among the weaponry and high tech gear that filled this particular out post. From here, she could easily see the road, the comings and goings. She would know when her Sire returned. With nary a thought, she closed her eyes and allowed her mind to travel backward, to the time before.

XxX

It is night and she is out late, walking the corner, her corner. He is mad, very mad. She hasn't made the money he needs to keep the land lord off his hind end. Between the roustabouts and the bar hoppers, she should have had the rent money for their little abode hours ago...but no one had come this way.

She had told him that she needed a better corner. No one comes this way, ever. But he ignores her, like always. Tells her she has to work this street, this corner, this alley. She doesn't know why.

Finally, a car rolls up and a man waves to her, beckoning from the depths of his ride. She strolls over, wide eyed, waist length braids fluttering in the wind. He offers an unseemly amount of money for a little fuck and suck. It should have scared her off, but she needed the money. She wanted to go home.

Two hours. That is how long it takes him to break her down. To bleed her. He cuts her as if she is a side of beef. Tortures her. Laughs as she screams and bleeds out all over his nice alligator shoes. The bastard. She doesn't know when he tired of the game.

She doesn't know where she wakes up.

Only that she hurts and that her heart beat is slowing, slowing...

An angel comes then. Leans down to lick the blood from her ravaged face, taste the blood from her opened throat and asks her as the blood slows, as her heart stutters and stops, stutters and stops...she asks her~

"Do you want to live and pay him back?"

What answer could she give but yes?

XxX

Eyes open as she hears a sound in the underbrush. Sitting up, she raises her head just enough to watch a small group of elders go creeping past. Should she follow? Will they be going to dispatch her Sire? Those others? Should she help or wait as she was told?

What should she do?

Vincent

As soon as the broadsword touched Vincent's hands he knew who had made it. Lucien certainly spared no expense, but these poor saps. One or two of them might even have been his equal under controlled circumstances. But these were as far from controlled as you could get.

The sword spun in his grip, deflecting a blow, decapitating a vampire, ducking under a punch. Vincent had to be careful, he couldn't turn his back on Holt, because he didn't trust him and because he needed to be sure he survived. Vincent backed up slowly, deflecting blows from one or the other. When possible he kicked, knocking them backwards. The dirt and rocks were problematic for his enemies, they just weren't used to fighting on uneven terrain, or terrain that Vincent could use to his advantage.

Two of the vampires reached Holt, unfortunately there were three between Vincent and Holt, but Vincent didn't worry. In fact he hopped back a few steps, spun away from the scene, tightly shutting his eyes and hands over his ears. A second later a concussive bang washed over him. Facing away from a flash bang did wonders, and even those chasing him were disoriented. Vincent struck, sword flashing right, taking the head from a vampire. He moved forward, catching one coming in and slamming his head into his opponent, staggering him backwards. He heard the shots, someone was sniping the vampires.

Vincent ducked low, he could hear Jericho and Ondine approaching, spinning towards Holt. His sword slashed with all the momentum of his body, cleaving clear through the big vampire holding Holt at about hip level. Holt dropped to the ground, and Vincent saw Jericho and Ondine in the fight now. He didn't move far, staying close to Holt, eyes flashing as he watched the carnage.

"Well that was fun."

The only other vampires were now charging towards Jericho and Ondine, so Vincent wasn't really needed. He'd be better served making sure Holt didn't get grabbed, or try to run.

Ondine~Death by Decapitation

Once the battle was joined? She became zen. Her focus widened, allowing her to see further, to gather intelligence for different moves~ faster.

'Dumb dead heads.' 'Are they rushing?' 'Yup.' 'Stupid.' 'Very.'

The swords flew out, constant circles within circles that caused the steel to shimmer. She became one with them, they became an extension of her will, of her arms, of her body.

'Left!'

The swords flashed out, caught a surprised vampire in the sternum, ripped upward. The left hand sword cut across the throat, practically decapitating the bastard. Ondine spun away, swords dipping, slicing, weaving above and below the guards of those who surrounded her.

'Right!'

She reversed the swords' positions, making sure to stay out of the way of her beloved, avoiding damage to Darya~ who had begun taking out the stragglers of the initial rushing group.

'Is that..' 'Holt?' 'Yes.' 'We protecting him now?' YAY!! I like him!' 'Don't know....' 'Oh look!' 'A geyser!' 'Ha. Ha.'

Eventually, there were no more left, at least not on the hill. Ondine dropped her swords and turned to look for her love, for her Sire. She called out, her voice husky, low, growling.

'So, what are we doing and just WHO do I have to kill to get a friggin' answer??"

Darya

Staring down at the dust as it began to billow away she for a single moment smiled. A crazed smile as it would look to some but to her it was the ending to something a long time coming. She looked to a camera she knew was near by almost locked for a brief moment in a memory knowing at least hoping that Michalina would see the final demise of her tormentor from so long ago. Darya for a moment sank into a memory...

Samuel had been her project from Lucien... "Watch over him and his brother but let them have their fun with the mortals but Never let them go too far." Preventing them from going too far had given her a daughter. Samuel was the darker brother and the bigger idiot. She had watched him with the young human girl until he had passed out and she ordered him carried back to Lucien. What better torture for that idiot than to have to accept each and every day for the rest of his pathetic unlife that his human victim on his "day out" was now family. Daughter to someone more ruthless and closer to Lucien then he would ever be. Embracing Michalina gave her someone to help keep her sane and focused on never truly becoming like Lucien. The only good in her life next to her sister who was never there for her but still she loved dearly.

Drawn back to the moment at hand she saw them gathered there. Eyes locking on the human there near Vincent. The predatory hunter death bringer blood splattered monster but something deep in her eyes something that seemed directed only to Holt that fear of losing her sister of losing Karena.

Is this the hunter that has tried to kill my sister?

Her eyes never leaving Holt as she waited for an answer. The desire to rip him to pieces mangled with the want to make his death slow and flooded with more pain and suffering than any mortal should ever know and that familial bond seeking to run back and check on Karena leaving this worthless slime to her childer and family.

There was no emotion to her voice all the pain and anger were so overwhelming they could not escape her through mere words.

Why did you poison my sister human?

Stepping closer her fangs visible as she spoke again

Who gave you the Momento Mori to use on MY SISTER? ANSWER ME HUMAN... WHY did you poison My sister!!

The emotions were nearing that breaking point bubbling dark and deep in her eyes... the faintest of trembling to her muscles and form. Karena was the last thing she had left in this world and now some pathetic human threatened that with something he could not have known anything about.

Hearing Ondine's words about who does she have to kill to get answers brought her back to a little more control.

I would say we torture the human till he talks Ondine... or perhaps let him feel what Karena is feeling right now... the slow maddening pain... hunger...
