Favorites Lists

That makes perfect sense to me. I wasn't talking about favouriting alts. It would be the easiest way to get between alts when hunting for a particular story.

I can't even get my alts to put me on their favorite lists. They think it will give away their "secret identities." Like anybody cares...

I did understand that whole marshkitty thing, btw, but only because we we are the peanut butter and chocolate of the Lit world.

I dunno, maybe it's just an easy way for them to get access to their submission page. Personally, I bookmarked mine.

I've never really paid attention to favorites list but that was a great lesson in humility. It took me a quite a little while going through my comments on my stories to find just one person who had me on their favorites list. (I also seemed to find a large number of comments where in place of the username is said, "User deleted" or something like that.)

I didn't even know it was possible to favorite yourself. Shows how much time I've spent with it.

I do have a few authors on my favorites list, mostly those that I like to have handy quickly to check for any updates they might have made recently. Lots of them don't post in the AH, where I could just click on signatures and get to their stories that way.

If I need to access my own stories quickly, I go and find one of my forum posts every single time, so I can click on the link on my sig. Yeah, I must like complicated.

I think I'm most surprised by people who have no favorites at all.
If we all read as much as we claim, and adore as much as we say, then where are they?
Not trying to be rude, I'm just saying that I think of my favorites section as another way to push what I love on the unsuspecting (and until reading it, unenlightened! ) souls of Lit and make it something they can love as well. Lots of people work hard here. I like to showcase their hard work by making the extra effort.

I also think it's another way of getting to know the author in question. If you go to their submissions page to begin with, you must be at least a little curious about them or their writing. I always look at favorites because many times it can tell almost as much as a bio page.

It's just another cliquey thing. *yawn*

I like cruising Favourites - I've found some very interesting stories that way.

I found that too! What's going on with that?

Since I never bother to log out, I never log in. I knew I had seen the number somewhere but i could never remember where. For now this is the easiest.
