Favorites Lists

That, I kind of doubt. You haven't shown it yet.

This is just payback activity for my pointing to the "stroke me" Interent game Cloudy played earlier this week, and I see no need to continue this juvenile tit or tatting. Believe what you will, and play your girlie games as you like.

dear lord, talk about childish...

"I'm taking my ball, and going home! Neener, neener."

:D

Yes, you've found us out! It's a HUGE conspiracy!

Couldn't possibly have anything to do with your own behavior. Of course not.

Talking to this guy won't work. He is always right and always above it all. He's been this way since day one and hasn't changed much if at all. He is so far above us peons that he can't figure it out. He's intelligent and would make a fine addition to this place, don't get me wrong. It's people he hasn't figured out. That and he has never learned that it is better to keep ones mouth shut sometimes.

So people play games. What business is it of yours. Everyone knows it and no one needs it pointed out. Agitation is your only reason that I can see. That and to point out your superiority.

You're right, of course.

It was still funny, though, because I could so hear Cartman: "Screw you guys. I'm going home."

:D :D :D

*ahem* I would like to add.... STOP quoting him, pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaase... I have him on ignore for a reason. He's too bloody obnoxious to listen to.

Thank you. That is all.

You're right again, Tx.

I've always avoided him before, and I see I was correct in doing so.

Maybe he will change one day.

I'm a girlie?

If you are, then I've decided to be a lesbian. ;)

Why? Because it seems to bother you -- a lot. :)

Ah, back to your old abusive out-of-blue attacking again, I see.

Just seems to me that Starrkers is beating the issue to death. What's it to her that people put in one "favorites" vote for themselves (just as you did)?

Nope, doesn't bother me at all.

I'm just curious why someone would bother looking so goddamned egotistical for such little gain. The "Most Favouritest" (snerk) lists aren't exactly high profile. I didn't even know they existed until scouries started bleating about them.

I can kinda almost see why you would favourite yourself as an author OR favourite a story (but still think it's a major trip in self ego stroking), but to do both??
That's just ridiculous.

As I said up the line, being egotistical--narcissistic even--and being a writer are best of friends. No need to pretend otherwise about that. Stories are posted here because the writer wants them to be widely read--it's not a stretch to accept that writers will promote their stories to the limit to that goal. So they do what they can to get them highlighted on whatever list is available. I think that's the answer to your question--but you've gotten that answer and just keep on asking the question as if you want those who do it to feel embarrassed. (Wasn't it you who told me to just let something go and not beat it to death a while ago?).

The top 250 "Favoritist list" is low profile now just because it's still being listed as a "too come" by the Web site (while, in fact, it is there to see if you click on "sneak peak"). But the Web site is introducing new element continuously. I won't mind being on the top hundred list when the list is displayed prominently on the site. I bet you wouldn't either--especially if it draws readers.

(Another answer, by the way, is maybe when a Lit. author hit the old button listing them/their story as a favorite, they had no idea it would be listed on their profile sheet. Don't bother trying to tell me that authors don't try to vote for their own stories too. :D)

And wasn't it BOSTON who turned the spotlight on the list with a widely read Lit. essay, not originally Scouries? I found out about it from BOSTON's essay and didn't see Scouries mention it until later--and in reference to that essay.
