FBI Raids Orange Guy's Compound.

Many states don’t allow write-in candidates for President. There are spelling issues and Electoral College complexity. Changing that policy isn’t simple, either.

I'll paraphrase my mother on that: When I go, I don't really want to find myself in the same place for eternity with the likes of FGB.
For the faithful, God reserves a special place for assholes and fuckwit liars like you; it's called Hell. Welcome to my world, hope to see you soon.

For the less than devout; you're stuck here in this universe for the rest of eternity. Just like the rest of us. Howdy neighbor!

Thus, in the end your post does NOTHING except prove once again what an asshole and fuckwit liar you are. Good job privatestolenvalor! Good job.

Hey, Hell can't be such a bad place. It's for all the 'sinners' in the eye of the Church. We may know them as Litsers who engage in all the fun stuff in life and aren't sticks-in-the-mud.

Hell could be a fun, partyin' happenin' place.

Meanwhile the Arpys and BBs will be relegated to the dead souls room ... death for the dead.

Listen up you simpleton. I'm a lawyer, I don't HAVE a soul. Or a heart for that matter. And the only blood you'll find around here is what I sucked out of people like you. Which for some reason still works to bind the person whose blood it is when signing important contracts with large redactions.

Apparently a bunch of stuff he should not have had. Some BIG no-nos.

Question is now what? Were they just out to recover and secure the items? Or will they prosecute?

If this truly was politically motivated, we'd just leave this dangling in the Republicans' dirty linen closet through the November elections.

You haven't got much of a skin, either.

Mar-A-Lago Raid: FBI Investigating Whether Trump Violated These 3 Statutes

https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/ip3/www.forbes.com.icoForbes|2 hours ago
A document attached to the search warrant shows federal investigators are looking into whether three statutes could have been violated, including the Espionage Act.

What's that last bit there? Yo, Lawyer Arpish-One.

What's the penalty for Espionage?
The absolutely middle of the road truthful response:

There's evidence that the President signed an EO in which he declassified all the docs he had in his possession at Mar a Lago. Further the espionage act cannot apply to the President because his duties as President require him to do things with the documents which would, if done by any other person, violate the Act.

Finally the real kicker. The docs were found as they had been placed. They were inside a storage room secured with a large padlock, having been put there at the request of the Presidential archives. It is impossible for someone to "be in possession" of documents which the government has securely stored on their property. Regardless of the physical location, if a private person consents to the storage by the Government on his property the storage area immediately comes under Government control and anything in it is in the Government's possession. To say otherwise would mean that in every Government leased area the property owner assumes possession of all the property within the area. There are a great many rented buildings the Government uses for USPS and in none of them does the property owner have possessory interests in either the mail or the Government property therein. Mar a Lago is no different in regards to the storage room irrespective on whether the Government was paying for the storage space or not because money is not required under the rules for creating a contract. There is also a thing called Constructive Possession which could be imputed to the Government in this case. In the end what it comes down to is that the docs were stored there at the Government's request and thus were in the Government's possession and not Trump's.

Finally, to answer the actual words of your question directly. The Espionage Act has the penalties included in the Act. A simple reading will (hopefully) lead anyone with half a brain to know what they are. No legal interpretation required and I decline to feed your thinly veiled gloating on things which are not at all proven or in evidence.

He didn't violate any statute. Have you read Barack Obama's executive order no. 13526 titled "Classified National Security Information?" It explains how all classified information is classified and declassified. You will find this caveat Under Sec. 3.5. Mandatory Declassification Review.
(a) Except as provided in paragraph (b) of this section, all information classified under this order or predecessor orders shall be subject to a review for declassification by the originating agency if:

(b) Information originated by the incumbent President or the incumbent Vice President; the incumbent President’s White House Staff or the incumbent Vice President’s Staff; committees, commissions, or boards appointed by the incumbent President; or other entities within the Executive Office of the President that solely advise and assist the incumbent President is exempted from the provisions of paragraph (a) of this section.

In other words the President as the original classification authority is exempting himself and his staff from the requirements of a review of his documents by any originating agency of government. Donald Trump is being framed and treated differently than his predecessors.

except he's not, since this, regarding 'declassified' status defense:
"This defense will fail because the three laws that they selected to put on the search warrant don't require that the documents be classified," McQuade said to guest host Cori Coffin. "I think until we saw that unsealed search warrant on Friday, we expected that they would charge the statute that was used for General David Petraeus and [former NSA adviser] Sandy Berger, which does require the mishandling of classified information. Instead, they require only one charge of government records, another charge related to national defense, and another concealment of records when the government comes calling for them."

Yes, Trump is a total mess who needs to be in prison for his multiple dimensions of corruption, criminality, congenital lying, treason, total self-absorption, rape, business scams, white nationalism, racism, etc., etc. etc.

Yes, indeedy, and anyone still carrying water for him is a total idiot.

Regardless of the physical location, if a private person consents to the storage by the Government on his property the storage area immediately comes under Government control and anything in it is in the Government's possession.
So why did it take an inner circle informant to alert the FBI about the docs?

He has a right to have his property which was unlawfully seized returned to him. The first step is to make the request for the FBI to do it. The next step is to go to court and challenge the validity of the warrant and demand the government return his illegally confiscated property.
