I always have the question in my mind when I see Male/female couples-- is this what they really want out of BDSM? Or is it just because Him Big Man, she wittle doll and Biology Is Destiny™? Usually, the answer is "this IS what they want," but sometimes...

Yeah, there's a little slap and tickle that she allows, but otherwise Christian does the majority of the compromising and turns away from the lifestyle. Like so many other stories (and the occasional film) vanilla prevails.

With all of the fuss about the books, I was terribly disappointed.

I just finished the first one and I can't say that I am really feeling it. Even within this book, he has downgraded from his rules and contract to where he isnt pushing her to sign it any longer. To me it is reading like a Harlequin romance in that she has this well hung, rich guy that is giving in to everything that she wants without him really telling her no. I just find it hard to believe that as a virgin she climaxes so quickly and easily all the time. It took me some time before I was able to climax that easily!!!
