veryblueeyes said:That is what it was called by some of the friends that made it. Kind of chunks, shredded fish, a lot of lime juice and various ingredients. I just always presumed that is what it was. You ate it as a salad or a dip type salsa.
I lived in the Southwest for too long.![]()

I eat most anything on the sushi/sashimi menu, provided it's not still twitching.

Ohhh because I think it 'works' with the sea theme . We can always have the Chef whip up some in beer batter just for the Groom.veryblueeyes said:I will see if I can talk him into it. I don't think he will have a problem. The way our nups are planned, it will start a top a mountain and end in the sea.
*Kidding. I hope you know this is a running joke between him and I.. I love teasing my e-betrothed.*

I really hope his ears are burning. LOL Ymmm... You had to mention beer battered. Do you do much shrimping there? They put a limit on the commercial fisherman here off the ICW and Altantic coast for a while for shrimping.
You are. He is so going to be embarrassed that I am speaking this way about him.

We say prawns here . I have netted them under mangroves as live bait. We caught a massive Queen fish just from one live shrimp . I love pulling in the nets never sure what will turn up. There are limits and licenses on all things fishery. They are strictly enforced as well. Eco friendly and preserving stock for the future.
I suspect he is cool with it.
Thank Heavens for that because no matter where you go or what you do there are always going to be greedy and or stupid people . Professional fisherman have a vested interest to protect the source. Worst example I see and often are amateur divers and abalone and people who fish off land and insist on keeping everything they catch , even tiny little baby fish. It disgusts me when people do that , bliss when Rangers turn up and check their buckets. Most reasonable people if they are aware will confront people breaking the laws like this . It's certainly not a case of fishing being reliant as food in a traditional sense. Most people caught out are recreational fisherman . I got brave one day and argued with a man over what he wasn't throwing back. He was not only aggressive but feigned innocence (nor did he tip the baby bream back into the Sea ) . Rangers turned up not much later , he had spotted them and was tipping fish back before I was even aware they were on patrol . The spineless cad had be aware all the time.veryblueeyes said:I did some work part-time for the Fisheries here. Plus, they changed the recreational/commercial fishing licences and when it has to be renewed and what constitutes recreational this past year. I am pretty up on it. I have to keep my recreational license to fish up to date for certain miles off the coast, as well as my boat license; poundage (oh, yeah, you are metric) of the fish. There was also a limit on crabbing. Even recreational. The Fishery here is like there; strictly enforced.
You need to PM him that image. Perfect AV.
