Fishing

I've had fun with panfish this summer. It's been cool here this year. They've not sunk into the deep pools like they usually do by late July.

Fat bluegill and sunfish mostly. We fish from the shore like Huck Finn with a line and bobber. If I rig one line long, with a wad of something stinky on it, I can pull in some nice catfish too.

We have none of those up this way. I have caught bluegills and sunfish before, when down visiting the south 48. I've never caught a catfish. But, lots of salmon up this way.

Most likely I'd not be able to lift that.
Very cool fish.

Actually, I think I'd like to try salmon fishing in Alaska, but for now I'll settle for my bobber and hook, a box of worms and a bag of stinkbait. It ain't glamorous, that's for sure, but we always have fun, even when the fish aren't biting.

That's the most important part!

I like to fish. Mostly for bass, though occasionally we get lucky and catch the odd pickerel or two. (I think Americans call them walleye not pickerel though).

One day I would like to take a charter out on the big lake and go salmon fishing. :)

Come to Seward, Alaska on Labor Day weekend. The silver salmon (coho) will be jumping in the harbor. Sometimes they jump onto the dock floats. Sometimes, they jump into your boat. It's quite easy to catch your 6 fish limit and enjoy the scenery.

I was going to go fishing on my lunch today but didnt get the chance. We have a pond stocked with bass and various small fish. Im off all next week so I figure a few days will be spent on lake erie

I mostly fish for muskie and smallmouth bass. I've been out on my uncle's boat 3 times this year and caught 1 musky about 6 lbs.

For the bass I use a kayak on streams and rivers. Only made 1 float this year so far. I caught about 8 with the largest being about 3 lbs.

I'd like to go muskie and pike fishing at some point but I don't have a boat. I've yet to catch a pike from shore but I've seen people do it around lake St. Clair. In early may I have a pretty good shot at large mouth bass. Late may-mid june I can hit the silver bass run. Now I'm catching catfish and I can probably do that most of the summer.

I have never caught a muskie, but northerns yes. They really tick me off though when I am walleye fishing and have no leader on and they get right next to the boat before cutting through my line....

Northern however, can be a lot of fun to catch, they fight like no other. I have caught some nice northern pike.

last summer was supposed to be my northern experience, my uncle taught me bass, walleye, crappie fishing... was supposed to move on to northern and fly fishing, but he died... still looking for a new teacher.

Both are easy-peasy.......
