Alex put the car in park in the long term parking. Locking the doors securely, he grabbed his bags and handed Juli's hers. After stowing the little luggage that he had brought, Alex sat down in his seat. He pushed back into the plush seats......ah....now this was comfort. He wondered how Niki had paid for this private charter, but no matter. It was not his concern. Alex studied Niki's profile for a minute. A motorcycle accident could have caused the injuries as could a run in with the FBI. Alex wondered if there was more to Niki's story than he was telling.

I studied Loki as we drove to the airport to check his plane.
He had once been a very powerful God of Yggdrasil as had I. But people had stopped believing in him, his followers growing fewer and fewer. Though lately with pagen resurggence, we were both gaining followers again, thier beliefs restoring powers to us.
A God or Goddess is only as powerful as thier followers faith. Some, like myself, can also pull on the power of Yggdrasil, the Heaven's super computer that runs and monitors everything. But that's rather rare and few are given that ability.
Most of the others of our tier had died off long ago, choosing to be reincarnated as humans rather then to live as downed dietyies. Even other Parthenons had choosen such, like Zeus and his people. Had run into the current incarnation of Diana once- she was a nun, of all things, of course.
But Loki- he had lost much. Even his own child, Sleipnir, would only barely head his call anymore and the 8 legged horse was hard for him to control where it had once been easy.
He still retained his shapeshifting abilities, much as I had retained my abilities to travel through water or glass. Though lately I had to be careful doing it, lest I brake the glass on my way out from using too much power.
I sighed, so many things were changing again, powers returning I hadn't controled in so very long. Would be interesting to see where this would take all of us. Niki, Loki and me, once known as the Mistress of Mysteries.
"Are we there yet?" I said to Loki with a sly smirk.

Alex pulled around to the lower level of the airport with the cadillac that he had rented. He loaded all their baggage into the back before jumping back into the drivers seat. "I have two adjacent hotel rooms at a nice hotel in downtown Nashville. "

Alex drove the car with his usual skill even though is mind was far away. He was thinking of all the things that Juli and he would have to set up to get this to work. He pulled up to the front of the hotel. "Niko, here is the information on the rooms. If you would be so kind as to take the bags up to the rooms. I have a few things to check on immediately. I will be back before dinner. " Alex handed the paper to Niko as he went around the back to put the luggage on a cart. Kissing Juli on the cheek, he got back into the car and pulled away from the hotel.
