Flood, fires, tornadoes, hurricanes... all exacerbated by climate change and no state is immune, yet trump's talking about shutting down FEMA

There is always a middleman between fed and states.
The trumpers here believe that private citizens with access to their own personal helicopters or motorboats are the ones going into disaster sites to help before government agencies and they think that is the norm and speaks to government waste. As you posted earlier, they know nothing about the GOA, chain of command, or financial reporting.

There's a bit of truth to both. Fema works with the state, but where the money is funnelled depends on a large number of things from time to time. Eliminating the hands in the pot could streamline that. In times of emergency, eliminating regulations can help....but that requires either fema making that decision via the agency or a direct command from the President.

All in all, disruption can be a good thing...but just firing everyone isn't good disruption, imo.

Governors work with FEMA directly.

I don't disagree that some adjustments may be needed

But the lies about fema not even providing funding to the states or that Trump is suggesting a change that would lead to money going to governors because it isn't now, continues to be an issue. All Trump needs to say is that reorg is needed to better coordinate with governors.

Instead.....he says stupid shit that is a lie which directly leads to his base wanting to burn it all to the ground.

You don't fix anything that way.
Some dipshits on lit specifically stated that Trump was pulling aid from the states. I disagree with how Trump is threatening to disband FEMA. There needs to be a streamlined agency.

In parts of NC 3 months later many roads and bridges are still in total disrepair and impassable. If it's true that FEMA was playing politics shame on them. Safety first and then lanes of travel next. Roads and bridges need to be expedited in order to bring in logistic and medical support. Why didn't FEMA tap into military assets from both Ft. Brag and Jackson. Huge engineer, transportation, air and medical assets available.

My opinion, FEMA botched the Palestine train derailment. All those people, in my opinion, should have been evacuated from the area PERMANENTLY. Of course Trump took a hit from the likes of Laz and others over braking system.

Bottom line:

NO entity outside of the Federal Government can marshal or coordinate the funding and physical resources needed to respond to a MAJOR disaster.

FEMA was what the Federal Government settled on as THE official vehicle for responding to MAJOR disasters that an individual state CANNOT deal with on its own.

The only thing FEMA needs is additional funding to continue its mission.

And climate change exacerbated MAJOR disasters are driving that need for additional funding.

Let President Musk (and DonOld) fuck around with FEMA, etc, at your (our, really) own peril.

🤬

Well, you and I are doing is exactly what Democrats are forced to do All the damn time towards the basic and always obvious complaint that government isn’t running as efficient as possible. That’s a no shit Sherlock approach that conservatives get on tv and say and applies to everything. What these members here like Ican aren’t doing is explaining what exactly they feel is inefficient and providing solutions to that.

The governor in NC dropped the ball at worst. And Palestine was waiting on the railroad companies who owned the cleanup.

As with everything, the reality of the issue is much more complex.
I definitely agree with the governor dropping the ball.

In a chemical or biological disaster where carcinogens or disease are at issue treat and evacuate first then worry about legal shit when you have time.

Dumbass! I support the need for FEMA. There needs to be a liaison between the feds and the states. It needs fixing.

Ok. Now we’re getting somewhere. This is what you should’ve posted first for people can critique your opinion instead of your traitorous ass calling for a blanket end to FEMA.

🙄

So ineedhelp1 believes an ADDITIONAL step needs to be added to the process…

NOT very “DOGE-Y”…

How does a decent, intelligent individual even respond to (critique) the absolute BULLSHIT that ineedhelp1 dumped in that post???

🤔

Oh wait… I guess I just did!!!!

I hate that we’re going in circles chasing our tail with these fuckers. This is what has been happening ever since Katrina. No one complained about the government responses to man-made or natural disasters before brown and bush. They were so incompetent and dropped the ball so badly to now disasters are always political. Every little thing was “Obama’s new Katrina” and conservatives have continued with that approach ever since.

Fuck off dipshit!

I've noticed a trend on your posts, Politruk. Anyone who disagree with your vary slanted view is a liar and an idiot. Let me ask this question. Can you walk on water? Some of already know you're perfect. To paraphrase the great baseball manager, Gene Mauch, "there's never been a poster on this site as great as you THINK you are"
His posts are where the truth goes to die.

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-terminate-fema-fast/story?id=118076946

he can't do it alone: will the representatives of the most at risk in 'red' states back him on this one? When his magats can't get insurance already and now they've got the threat of FEMA help being torpedoed too?
All of the things you listed have been been here FOREVER. We were going to die of Overpopulation, then we were going to die from an Ice age, then we were going to die of acid rain, then we were going to loose all of our natural resources, then we were going to die of global warming, then we were going to die of climate change, and now we're in a climate crises. We didn't die from ANY of these things. Haven't you noticed a pattern here????

All of these MADE UP climate "crises" have the same solution. Marxist crap. Imagine that. WAKE UP. Marxism NEVER WORKS. A Marxist wants you to believe in this poop so people like you believe you need these control freaks.

Now; the truth is Fema is a joke. It creates more problems than it solves. Just like EVERY big Government organization. Now this is something you on the left hate to face. Government programs are a big waste of money. What did Fema actually do in Carolina? Nothing really. It's the Government that caused the fires in California.

It's a GREAT IDEA TO GET RID OF THIS ORGANIZATION. Lets hope this is the START of MANY Marxist programs getting the axe.

I didn’t read any of your shit but the ending caught my eye. Don’t let Chad see you admitting openly that trumpers are the real Marxists here in America.
Haha. Thx for the huge LOL!😆
