For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We Might Be In Ukraine

President Biden offered a master class in how to deal with Russia. How not to be drawn into a European conflict. How to save America lives.

Like Reagan he out maneuvered Russia. He cost Putin soldiers, weapons, and time.. he exposed the Russian soldiers as not as capable as everyone thought.

It was expensive, but so is what Reagan did.

(Second F all of you for making me say nice things about Reagan!)
Yup, if nothing else, it has shown us that Russian infantry tactics are basically the same as they were way back in World War 1: Full frontal infantry assault, even in the face of machine guns (World War 1), aerial bombardment (World War 2), landmines and snipers (Soviet Afghan invasion) and drone technology (Ukraine).

The Verkhovna Rada supported the resolution on democracy in Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression by 268 votes. The document confirms Zelenskyy's legitimacy and the impossibility of elections until peace is established.
  • The Verkhovna Rada emphasizes that it is Vladimir Putin who is responsible for the fact that it is currently impossible to organize free, transparent and democratic elections in Ukraine with the invitation of international observers, which would be recognized by the international community.
  • The Parliament states that the martial law imposed in Ukraine in the context of the full-scale invasion of Russia does not allow for elections in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine. At the same time, the Ukrainian people are united in their opinion that such elections should be held after the war is over.
  • The VRU declares on behalf of the Ukrainian people that Ukraine, as a democratic country, as soon as comprehensive, just and sustainable peace is ensured on its territory, will, by decision of the Parliament of Ukraine, announce the presidential election and ensure that it is held in accordance with all international electoral standards.
  • The Verkhovna Rada once again reminds that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was elected in free, transparent, democratic elections. His mandate is not questioned by the Ukrainian people and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
  • The Parliament of Ukraine emphasizes the need to comply with the principle of institutional continuity of power provided for by the laws of Ukraine, especially in the context of the legal regime of martial law, and emphasizes that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy must fulfill his powers until the newly elected President of Ukraine takes office in accordance with part one of Article 108 of the Constitution of Ukraine.
  • The VRU calls on the international community to join forces to achieve a common victory, end Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine and establish a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace for Ukraine. Only the establishment of a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace for Ukraine will allow to restore normal life in the country, an integral part of which will be the holding of elections in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, in compliance with all international standards of a lawful democratic state.

Trump: Main thing is to stop war, whether ceasefire or direct transition to agreement

US President Donald Trump emphasizes the need to stop the war in Ukraine, whether it is a ceasefire or a direct transition to an agreement."I think Russia, likewise, I've spoken to President Putin and my people are dealing with him constantly and his people in particular and they want to do something," Trump said.

So many levels of crap in this. No, a ceasfire is NOT the main thing. The main thing is to defeat Russia and restore the 2014 border. Sure, Putin wants to "do something." What he wants is a ceasefire on his terms, so we can prepare for Round 3 and attack again. And Trump is intent on helping him.

Trump is about to get the USA cut out from......
  • the rare earth deal with ukraine
  • trade with europe
  • nato
  • european bases
  • rebuilding in ukraine contracts
  • middle east arms sales
  • asian arms sales
  • aussie arms sales
  • future F35 sales
  • 800+ billion in future arms sales to the EU

thats well over 1 million jobs...

All to save about 10 billion in scrap metal we have sitting in the desert and pull Putin's bacon out of the fire...

but winning. Thats some real 4D chess moves right there..

The United States just VOTED WITH RUSSIA, NORTH KOREA, BELARUS and SUDAN!!! Against our European DEMOCRATIC allies at the United Nations!

Trump REFUSED to say Russia invaded Ukraine and that it should withdraw from Ukraine.

Guess I'm gonna have to hold my nose and vote Democrat in 2028. I really absolutely 100% never imagined that Trump could sink this low. Mind you, Biden/Harris vs Trump? Jeez, why couldn't the Democrats at least have fielded a decent middle-of-the-road candidate. I really hope they can in 2028.
Too fucking late you idiot....

47 supports Russia and Putin. Defend that.
Ya stupid dunce, if you want to bring the war to an end you have to talk to both sides including the Russians. They are a nuclear force and the most powerful conventional force on the field. You're desire for nuclear war with the Russians and the potential destruction of Europe is sickening as well as stupid.

We aren't talking to both sides. We are talking to Russia and capitulating to Russia.

Russia, our adversary, is the aggressor. Ukraine, our ally, is defending itself from the Russian invasion.

Rubio sold his soul.....

"End the war" has a new meaning thanks to Trump Push hard on your ally and make them surrender. And Trump's right: If Ukraine had surrendered right from the beginning without fighting, the war wouldn't happened .

Trump's really going all out to antagonize everyone.....

White House official pushes to axe Canada from Five Eyes intelligence group

A top White House official has proposed expelling Canada from the Five Eyes intelligence-sharing network as Donald Trump increases pressure on the country he talks about turning into the 51st US state. Peter Navarro, one of the US president’s closest advisers, is pushing for the US to remove Canada from the Five Eyes — which also includes the UK, Australia and New Zealand — according to people familiar with his efforts inside the administration. Trump has said he wants to annex Canada and has vowed to press ahead with 25 per cent tariffs on imports from the country when a one-month reprieve elapses on March 4.

I can't see Australia, New Zealand or the UK accepting that....

Foreign policy was always my concern before the election. I was hoping I was wrong. I was not. This administration is a disaster for foreign policy.

Getting serious three years on.....Trump can put this down on his "five things I accomplished today" list

It's like they do not understand foreign policy.

Fine, change things. Reealign. Reprioritize. Shake things up. But don't antagonize every ally you have because they will move on and when you need them, they won't be there.

At this point, there's now some serious rethinks going on everywhere in the world that there are agreements with the USA and the realignments that come out of this will NOT be favorable to the USA. It's rank idiocy.

Case in point....this is way bigger than just Ukraine. Trump has taken what everyone thought was a joke and made it into a serious issue. We may joke about Canada but they have a serious case of fucked off going on here. Look to Canada to now turn to Europe and China. That is NOT in our interests at all.

It's amazing to me how historical alliances are so poorly understood by MAGA.

Those who do not study history....and so many Americans do not. It's always been my interest, and I always find it mind-boggling at how little most people I know, know about history outside the USA, and how ill-informed they are. Our news media does not help of course.

You keep saying the things I'm thinking. It's like all this bullshit on Ukraine - the current Administration understands almost nothing about Russia and Ukraine.

I've been rewatching band of brothers/the pacific/master of the air

Watched Schindler's List last week.

So incredibly disappointed in 47.

And yes, I know that world war 2 is a different beast, but our alliances came out of that effort.

You don't know which if any concessions are being made to either side. I will say this, if you think those eastern Russian-speaking provinces in the east will be returned to Ukraine, think again. It won't happen without strict guarantees for the civil rights of those people there. The reality is the Russians have won this war and to the victor goes the spoils. That may not be just but it is the way of the World. Ukraine is not an ally, they are a dependent.

Just now: Kiev is about to sign that deal with Trump, which could change the dynamics on the ground in Ukraine as far as our presence is there is concerned. This could change what I just said above.

Publicly, we have capitulated to Russia.

Whether you believe someone is playing 4d chess in private is not my issue.

There is absolutely nothing that forgives what 47 has done in regards to Russia in the public sphere. He has bent over and taken it in the ass from Putin. That is what he has done.
