Forum exhaustion

I still consider myself a newbie but I've not been around much recently, life has just been so hectic. Summer is the big time for scouting (camps and stuff) and then I've moved out of home, taken over beavers, started ameuter dramatics and got into the swing of my paperwork at work.

I sometimes wonder how I make time for BDSM LOL.

When I first joined lit, I was super, super, super new. I had just figured out that I was interested in BDSM, hadn't gone to any community meetings or events, had hardly spoken to anyone about it, and didn't know a damn thing about it. And I posted constantly.

Now that I've been pretty active in my local community for a good while, know a ton of awesome people, have figured out most of the stuff that I was so curious about early on, and am in my first actual BDSM-y relationship, I hardly post anymore. Well, that's not true, but I post maybe a quarter of the amount I used to. I feel like it would make sense that now that I've mostly figured things out for myself and am doing stuff, I'd have more to say. Instead I feel content in my doing, and don't feel as much like talking.

But I'm not going anywhere anytime soon :) I'm not done rehashing all of our old conversations yet! Feminism, anyone? :p

As far as I know you haven't made an faux pas. And I'd miss you - you're fun. *hugs*

Awww...I'm not going anywhere right now.

It is hard on the newbie also though because if they don't feel they contribute anything or it isn't going to matter and no one wants to make friends with them because they "might" leave what is the use in even trying?

Get to know me, help me make friends and then i might stick around but i am not going to put in 6 months worth of time into a board that is going to snub me simply because I am new (not that this is happening I am just making a point).

I definitely agree. It's hard on both sides.

Oh and I want chocolate too.

Guess I won't share my chocolate covered cherries. :D

You just think you have chocolate covered cherries. I got them when you weren't looking, and now they're mine.

Here, you can have one of my gumdrops. Just make sure that no toddlers get them - it'll choke them.

 What flavor gumdrop? *eyes you suspiciously*

Peanut butter cookies are something that's difficult for me to walk past.

Oh, peanut butter cookies are only good when they're almost burned, so they are caramelized. They are crunchy and toasty and oh so good. Almost better than chocolate chip, but still just a close second.

Actually, chocolate chip must also be almost burned so they are caramelized. So they too are crunchy and toasty and oh so good. Yes, there's a science to it. Of course, you have to like crunchy cookies for this to appeal to you. But, when talking about cookies, there's nothin' better than a good chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie hot from the oven, toasty brown and crunchy. You can taste the flavor as it bursts in your mouth. It's buttery rich and full of flavor, just like a cookie should be.

You see, my mother liked having me around, when she baked cookies. If there were any that were overly done or burned (her opinion, not mine) she'd let me have them. :D Shit, a little dark on the bottom is perfect! God, now I'm making myself hungry for my mother's cookies. Hers were the BEST!

I fish through anybody's cookies at Christmas and such, looking for the crunchy ones that maybe were in the oven a little too long. Sorry, they just don't have that special flavor, if they were taken out of the oven too soon.

Oh, but no nuts, though! God NO! I hate nuts and that's a perfect way to spoil a good cookie. I guess I can handle peanuts, because they aren't really a nut. But pecans are the worst! God, I get chills thinking of how nasty they taste! YUCK! And walnuts are a close second. I sift through cookies or brownies and pick the nuts out of them if I have to. Not worth eating, otherwize.

Whups. Sorry, minor cookie hijack. My bad.

Carry on. :D

I so agree with you DVS, I like em hard and slightly burned. In school one of the few things the cafeteria made that didn't suck was peanut butter cookies. I like nuts however, nearly every kind.

My kids like cookies chewy and almost raw.

:D

A couple get married and that night the wife serves her first meal. Her husband eats it, but when she asks him how it was he say 'it was good, but just not like moms'. Years go by and she become an award winning gourmet cook, but whenever asked he says 'Not like moms. . mom's had this special . . . flavor . . . I don't know how to describe it.'

Well several more years go by, and they have a couple of kids. One night it happened. It was one of THOSE nights. Both the kids were sick, the car broke down, and dinner is late and a little bit scorched. She sets it before him with a rather defiant thud, and he takes a bite and says, 'THAT'S IT! THAT'S THE FLAVOR!'

Cooking cookies ruins them.
