Hmmm... I wonder, do they have auditions? Do they let everyone into the choir? Or does everyone's voice become magically angelic? Just a hypothetical as I don't qualify for the " heavenly" part. ;)

I don't know, Mer: I found your heavenly parts. ;)

That's fine, dear, you can be first reserve.

And we did! Hullo Tio.
:rose:

I did see some cliffs - although not the white cliffs of Dover, as I went down to the beach at the weekend. The weather is so unexpectedly pleasant at the moment. Piglet and I went to this wilder beach next to the usual one we go to, which you get to down a steep winding path. It was very exciting and we thought it would be a secret beach with only us on it, but it turned out to be the 'secret' beach for quite a lot of people, LOL.

Thinking it would be a 'secret' beach reminded me of SamScribble's Summer Lovin' story. :)

Is that anywhere close to Ramsgate? It's been 44 years, but I seem to remember some beautiful cliffs near where we border the Hovercraft to cross the channel.

Well ... quite near if you are living in the USA. It's in South Wales :) There are very beautiful beaches here in Wales, but you must not let the Tourist Board know that I was posting pictures of them online. They spend a lot of money every year on campaigns to convince everyone that there's nothing in Wales but green hills, sheep and rain. That way we can enjoy our beaches ourselves without a lot of grockles getting in the way ('grockle' is Cornish for the flood of tourists those poor Cornish people have to put up with every summer).

Here is an angelic voice that will soon be heard by everyone. This young man was asked at the last minute to perform during the Pope's visit to Philadelphia.

I think that may have been his audition. He's in!

Our tourist board does the same thing by total accident.

They let the myth exist that once Labor Day is over, so is tourist season as far as the beaches are concerned because "summer is over." I'll probably take the Labs out there yet this week because I'll be able to stake out claim to a half mile or better of beach to ourselves to let them frolic in the surf and chase sand crabs to their heart's content.

Three weeks ago you needed a reservation to be able to find room for a beach towel.

Cue Tony Bennett ...

I've been to your secret beach, and many similar secret beaches in South Wales. One year I made the mistake of going to Southerndown beach on a sunny Sunday.

Not only was the car park overflowing, but there was a drumming festival taking place - in the surf!

The day before we went to Ogmore Castle:

And watched a Dad take his twin early teenage sons across the stepping stones. Their Mum wasn't pleased when all three of them fell in the river.
