Freedom: The New Era

Michael

He looked at Catherine. He then looked at the floor for a minute. When he looked back up, he was smiling.

"Alright," he said, "I'm in."

Perhaps now, he thought, he could fully use his power.

Ken heard josh and knew that Bay wouldn't be happy. He also knew that if Josh was right, who cared about how happy Bay was at the moment?

He tripped Bay, shoved a few daggers and parlyzing darts into him, caryed him to the bike, put im on, and drove after josh.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Bay was taken by surprize when Ken tripped him. He heard what josh said, but didn't care. Next this he knew he was out cold.

Catherine looked at Michael, "Very good Michael. I was hoping that you would say yes. Now if you and Hayden would care to joing me I will take you down and show you the rest of the complex. I hope that you don't mind the little bit of secrecy but after what you have been through I know that all you want is to live the way you were born to."

She walked over to the elevator but before she tapped the code into the keypad she looked up at the camera.

"There are two others coming down with me Samuel. Do not worry about them as they are part of the team now."

With that the elevator doors opened and Catherine looked at the camera yet again.

"Thank you Samuel."

Everything was crazy. The young woman grabbed onto the handle of the truck door after hooking her seatbelt. She listened to him yell to the others to come back and follow. People were nuts. Why run off to join a fight that you couldn't possibly hope to win. The best that could come out of this was Jack sneaking out alive.

"There is no need to worry Noelani. We are going to get out of here now; there is no way I am going to let anyone get to you. I promise you that."

'I'm not worried...' she mind spoke to him. Noelani was gripping the hand pretty tight as they sped away. She didn't realize she had closed her eyes until she actually opened them. She looked around the street they were racing down and looked back to see if the other's were following.

'Josh... Is... Is he going to be alright?' Of course she was worried about him. He had been worried enough to come and rescue her hadn't he?

As he drove down the street Josh had the same thought in his head. He wanted to make sure that Jack was alright, that Ethan hadn't killed him but that would mean turning the truck around and putting everyone back in danger. He knew that Jack was risking his life to get them out of here and to take everyone back into danger would be defeating the purpose.

"I am sure that he is going to be okay Noelani. He is a very resiliant person and he will come back to us."

He then leaned out of the truck window just to see an object come hurtling out of the sky like a giant bullet and looked back at Ken who was surprisingly driving Bay's bike.

"Whatever happens do not stop or slow down for anything. Do you understand me!"

Ken was a bit shocked, to put it mildly, when something shot out of the air and hit the dangerous dude. He debated going back, then thought better of it. He didn't know if it was firend or foe. If the boss said so, he would help, but until then, he was going away from the place he might die.. no duh.

He was getting bored waiting for some orders, and decided to take it into his own hands. He wraped a small note asking for updated orders to a small dagger, and tried his best to throw it into the car saftly as he came up along side it.

Noelani gasped as a knife was thrown into the car. She had to fight against herself to not run them off the road with a burst of water from her hand. She looked at the man who had done the throwing and looked to Josh.

What the hell was going on now?

The explosion served its purpose. the explosion had propelled his leap into the water and had covered his escape. Jack swam slowly, before pulling himself out further down the shore. He got up and shook the water from his fur. He was wounded, but not terribly. Good work Jack, You not only covered them but also were able to come out alive. jack thought, a bit of pride welling up. Whoever he is, I cant take him alone. It was then jack realized his shoulder was dislocated, with a quick twist and pained snarl he pushed it back in place. with that he reloaded his pistols and started off back toward base at a moderate run. This job gets more and more interesting all the time

Just moments before hitting the man, John felt as if he had connected with some sort of wall, but while it did not stop him, it did absorb most of the force from the impact. He still drove the man into the wharf, pinning him in a rather noticeable dent that had been made in the wharf.

John knew that he didn’t want to stick around with this guy, and he also didn’t want this guy getting up right away and following him. So, John drove his fist into the back of the guy’s head and heard something snap. Whether it was the guy’s skull or the wharf, John didn’t know, nor did he really care. The guy would most definitely have been dazed by the blow, if not knocked unconscious. Either way, he wouldn’t be getting up in time to successfully follow John, who had thrown on his camouflage just after landing the blow.

John took a quick look around to make sure the other experiment had escaped, and then he ran down the wharf, inland. As he did, he looked over and made eye contact with a woman whom he didn’t recognize, but guessed was on the other side. All she would see of John were a pair of golden eyes, and a big toothy grin, like a Cheshire cat.

He then took off, flying rather low, twisting and turning around, over, and sometimes through, various buildings in the area in an attempt to lose anybody who might be following him, however unlikely that they were. Once he was satisfied, he took off into the air, and took a round about path (again, rather wild and confusing) to the main base.

Josh pulled one of his pistols out when the knife came flying into his car, barely missing his head. He aimed to the side of his car just to see Ken looking at him. He still aimed his pistol at Ken's head and screamed out, "What the fuck do you think you are doing! Are you trying to kill us or something! I told you to follow us back to base, not try and kill us!"

He wanted nothing more than to slam his foot down on the brake, get out of the truck and punch Ken in the face for what he had just done but he knew that could wait until later. He looked over at Noelani and saw the fear that was in her eyes. He knew that he was going to have some serious words with Ken when they got back and slid his pistol back into its holster.

"That would be great, thank you"

Eve nodded, held out her hand and then led Luise towards the cafeteria where most of the experiements that chose to live in the base had their meals. Due to the variety of both the people that lived there and the missions that usually came in and out at all hours of the day, the cafeteria was often open and there was always something on offer.

"So, what do you want?" asked Eve cheerfully, sounding friendly towards the obviously frightened young woman. Once they had ordered and gotten what they wanted from the 'lunchlady', they chose a table in the corner and sat down to have a bite to eat.

While munching on some french fries (her favourite since escaping) Eve smiled at the girl and took a sip of her extra strength coffee, "So, Luise. Can I ask just how old you are? And when you found out you had these.... special abilities?"

Ken was rather annoyed that Josh didn't read his message. He saw the energy flow and decided that he would get to base as fast as possible. His new orders. He was pulling ahead of the car when Bay slowly came about and asked were the enemy was.

"The guys downed, and we are on our way to the base *Waves at josh*, so behave yourself". Bay didn't want to listen. He jumped off the bike and tried running back to the docks. Ken sighed. Why was it him who got stuck with this dude? He read his energy and threw some parlyzing darts at his back. Bay blocked them with bone.

Ken was about to blow the dude's head off when he thought of something. He weeled back toward Bay, grabbed the bone, and lifted himself onto the dude while sinking darts into him. Then he once more raced toward base, keeping Bay sedated.
ooc: this counts for both charecters.

Luise calmed down more and more as she got use to this person, and got some pizza and a coke. "Im 19(right?) and i found out i had these powers when one day i was mugged in an alley, and i relised some(slight blush) gas that knocked them out. The second time was when my parents... I think they were my parents(defensivly) demanded that i try to be normal and i... i.... (starts crying) I killed them!!!! :(

Ethan slowly got to his feet and watched as the new threat flew away from him. He knew that he could easily follow it but he would leave it alone for a little while longer and besides, he needed the rest. This day had been strenuous for him. He took one look around him, at all the destruction that the other experiments and himself had caused that it brought the smile back to his face. He slowly brushed all the dirt and dust off his coat before he turned and started to walk slowly away from the wharf then with a flash of the light was gone.

He reappeared inside the apartment, lay down on the bed and closed his eyes. As he lay there he went through everything that had happened to him, about the experiments, the fight, everything. It was like he was reliving the whole thing.

"I think things have taken a turn towards the interesting. Don't you think."

He opened his eyes and looked at the man who was sitting in the chair as if tied up.

"Oh don't worry. I will get to you very soon."

Josh turned his head just as the bike sped off in the other way. He knew that he should follow but that would once again be putting Noelani's and his own life at risk.

"That damn hot head. He is going to get himself killed one of these days."

He continued to drive towards the tunnel though as he knew the only way to get out of here in one piece was to get into that tunnel as fast as he possibly could. As soon as he drove into the parking garage he flicked the switch on his wrist.

"Samuel. If you can get in touch with him I think that John has joined us. Tell him to go to the top of the building and then open up the tunnel for him. I know that it is risky but it is the only way to get him home safely."

He looked back just to see that the bike had rejoined him then pushed another button on his wrist communicator and watched as the floor raised up. With a smile he drove slowly into the tunnel and turned to look at Noelani.

"There is no need to worry now. We are nearly home."

In the Elevator

Hayden let out an internal sigh of relief when Michael agreed to join up as well. He didn’t know if he could take being here by himself without someone he at least semi-trusted.

Catherine’s behavior before getting into the elevator was strange, to say the least. She spoke to the security camera and told whoever was watching that Hayden and Michael were cleared to enter the complex. A small shudder ran down Hayden’s spine. He knew that other experiments were here, and did not want to think of the consequences for an intruder trying to enter without clearance.

He stepped into the steel box with the others and watched the doors close with quiet mechanical precision.

“Hayden, what have you gotten yourself into this time,” he asked himself in his head.

Michael stepped into the elevator as well, mindful not to ram the bottom of his guitar into the others or the wall.

He waited, and then watched the doors close. He glanced at Hayden, then watched the floor indicator lights flick off.

"At least we're not the only ones anymore," he said quietly.

Ken got off of his bike and saw that josh was ready to, so he picked up bay and walked over.

"Sorry for the dagger, just attempting to get orders. Can i have it back? And Bays out cold cause he wanted to keep fighting."

He was carrying bay with difficulty, but managing to to far over whenever the guy shifted.

"I swear, its like trying to knock out a rino with a stun gun, it just dosn't work for long."

Eve listened to Luise's story, sympathy clear in her eyes. "Oh you poor dear!" she exclaimed and then reached forwards to pat the girls hand gently, mindful of the shock she could induce. "I'm sure you didn't mean to. I don't think you're an evil person." She said gently and pushed the coke towards the young girl, "Have a drink and tell me about yourself."

She took the coke and started talking. "I have spent my life living in a hell. They did thing to me that no normal person could bear, but i did... and i escaped. I have adapted back into life, and i love music. I like rock and pop, and tv. Especialy everybody loves raymond, the sweet life, etc. How bout you?

Josh stood there, a completely shocked expression on his face. Ken had thrown a knife into the cab of the truck they had been driving, narrowly missing his head and he was standing in front of him asking for it back. He turned slowly and walked back to the truck, pulled the dagger out of the side and wondering what Jack would do when he noticed then walked back towards Ken. He held the knife tightly in his hand as he looked into his eyes.

"You want your dagger back do you," he said before he punched Ken in the side of the jaw.

"There is your dagger back," he said before he threw it down into the floor at Ken's feet, "never let it happen again. Do you hear me; never again."

Noelani watched Josh get out of the car. She remained seated, not willing to leave the safety of the truck just yet. It was happening so quickly, the other took the knife and for a moment was sure that the driver was going to stab the motorcyclist.

"You want your dagger back do you?"

She watched Josh hit him and was crawling over the middle console and the driver's seat to get out. She reached out for the man who had done the hitting and was sure he would stab the strange one now but...

"There is your dagger back, never let it happen again. Do you hear me; never again."

She sighed when the knife was safely in the ground. And finished climbing out, clinging onto Josh as she righted herself. She looked at the one carrying a man and then to Josh. "Are you ok?" She mind spoke to him.

Josh wanted nothing more than to go to the training level and vent his anger out on a punching bag but when Noelani began walking beside him he knew that he couldn't and that there were other things to do. He looked at her, "I'm alright Noelani. I was just angry with what Ken did on the drive back. I will never do that again."

He walked slowly to the elevator with Noelani beside him, not botering to look at Ken as he punched in the button and rode it up to the first level. As soon as doors opened again he was surprised to see Catherine there with the two people he had seen come in earlier. He walked straight up to her and pulled her aside.

When she looked into his eyes he said, "We have a problem. Ethan has resurfaced."

He saw her eyes go wide, "Are you sure."

"As sure as I am standing here. To give an understatement right now, we have a huge problem."

John "Draco" Hera's Back Story Part 2

John’s cave was rather big. He had inhabited it for more than a year and he was still exploring it. The current count is five caverns, two of which he has decorated in some fashion. The cave entrance was wide and tall enough to fit a large SUV. A single pillar had been carved on either side of the entrance, with a serpentine dragon coiled around them. Above the entrance, there sat a large dragon, almost as large as a man. Its head was orientated so that it watched anybody who approached the cave, its eyes golden with evidence of the valuable metal that lay behind it. It was surprisingly life-like for a carved image in rock. In fact, all three dragons were similar in that respect: their heads angled so as to watch anybody who approaches, and being incredibly life-like. The whole design around the cave entrance was very detailed, enough to make one think that it had been carved by a master craftsman, not John “Draco” Hera, the creature that had made this cave his lair.

The first cavern that one walks into after entering the cave is what could be considered the Throne Room. In here there is a throne carved out of solid rock, with veins of gold running through it. The walls and roof of the cavern also have gold veins swirling around. This cavern was of fair size, large enough to park four double-decker buses side by side in with ease, and still have space to walk around and on them. John kept a fire constantly lit near the foot of his throne in this cavern.

The next cavern is twice as long as the Throne Room and just as high. This cavern serves as his art gallery, for aside from the gold veins that decorate the walls and ceiling, there are also a number of molded stone statues that line the walls, each one hand made by John. He had made them using a couple of methods. One, carve the statues out of solid rock. Two, heat a chunk of rock to almost the melting point and mold it. Or three, heat up smaller chunks of rock to almost melting and stick them together to form a larger chunk, and then mold that.

It was the third method he had used to create his masterpiece out of the rubble that had accumulated from uncovering the gold veins in the gallery. The pile of rubble had stretched the whole length of the gallery and had been half as high. This pile he had meticulously transformed into a beautiful sculpture of a dragon that took up three-quarters of the room. It sat dead center in the room and it was massive. Despite its size, or maybe because of, when a person first sees it in the light of several large fires that lit the room, they would think that were looking right into the eyes of a live dragon. The workmanship seems to surpass even that of antiquity, which is really saying something.

The last three rooms, John has not done much with, aside from reveal a few gold veins here and there, but it seems that these caverns don’t have nearly as much gold in them as the other two.

…to be continued…

Ken was a bit shocked at the punch, but in truth, he did deserve it. He took his dager and walked over to the elevator, nodding to the girl he was ok, and surprizing her by signing that it was mostly his fault.

"Sorry Josh, i was out of line. Next time ill call your cell or something." He reached into his poket, withdrew his cell, and dialed Walts number.

"Hi walt! What do you want? Can you tell the mad bay to get ready for bay? Is this a joke? No. Ill get on it".

He walked into the elevator and waited for the other two to exit before getting off himself.

Once they arrived, he saw two people. One was Hayden, and the other was new.

"Sorry, can't chat, gotta get Bay to the med Bay, (under breath) and restain him.

Michael watched Ken walk by in a hurry and heard his greeting. He slung his guitar from his shoulder as he stepped out.

"What did I miss?" he said to no one in particular.
