Fun in Minnesota

I am envious. Green with envy, in fact. ;)

Now all I have to do is figure out what to do with myself...Mmmmmm, I'll figure out something fun.

Been reading some of the threads about practices/fantasy's...Interesting to see what people are doing and what they think about sexually. That's what I like about Lit, you can discuss things you normally wouldn't like masturbation techniques or sexual practices. Most guys don't sit around and discuss these things. Not with any seriousness (Is that a word?) anyway...

*laughs* Yeah, it's pretty cool. A safe place to learn all sorts of things. (Unless you decide to get out personal info, of course... in which case, nice knowin' ya.)

(mostly kidding... I survived meeting some of these people, after all) ;)

You guys actually met? HOLY BUCKETS (He says in true MN lingo). To me, that takes some real guts. Honestly, I don't think I could/would meet in person, or if I decided to, it would take alot of thought and the right situation.

I joined Lit for a couple reasons. One, to see if I could write an erotic story and have it published here (Which I did...only once) and two, to see what others are doing sexually and maybe learn some new things. This is an awesome forum for that and the anonimity makes it possible. I would not give out personal info and I certainly wouldn't ask for it. It seems to me like it would be a breech of trust. Does that make sense?

I had alot of ideas for a nude get together in the Nudity in Minnesota thread and, although it was fun talking about it, I wouldn't have gone...Sorry Doc. It sure did get me thinking though, of a time when some guys I know arranged a private strip show, which is where I saw a hilarious twister game. The whole night was sort of sureal to me...The 21 yr old woman sitting next to me was more turned on than anyone else in the room. She ended up getting involved in the "show." Amazing!

Have any of you recommended Lit to a friend? How did you bring it up? I'm asking because I know a woman who has told me straight out that she likes sex and likes to talk about it and I thought "she would really like Lit." She's married and, for me that brings alot of issues to the table...

I'm rambling...Sorry. Catch you later. More snow in the forecast for tonight! Why the hell didn't we get this snow in Dec and Jan???

Hope all is well with everyone!

*grins* We did. There were quiet a few of us Lit people there, actually. I wonder where they all went.

Have fun with the snow. :) We had incredibly crazy New England weather today. 60s yesterday, 30s and 40s today with snow squalls one minute and brilliant sunshine the next.

Maybe they all went into hibernation! There doesn't seem to be too many people from MN, at least on this thread...They must be around.

Your weather would be hard to get used to! We have a break in the snow for a few days now...

What are you doing for St. Patrick's day? I'm off work early and I'm staying home. I am however, wearing a green shirt despite not being a bit Irish!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

I'm staying home, drinking something my brother's army buddies taught me the weekend before they left for Iraq (I went to visit their base - hot damn, soldiers have nice bodies  ) and avoiding the traffic around here. St. Patrick's day is so big here, some of the schools in Boston and nearby had the day off. Though they call it "Evacuation day" so it can be a state holiday instead of an Irish/Catholic holiday.

What were you drinking? I'm a military guy too (USAF) and I've had my share of crazy drinks, in some far off distant places too. Brings back memories...

I hope all those guys you know that went to Iraq are OK. Everyday is an unknown over there. I know people over there too and think about them all the time.

They called it a "snakebite". Half Crown Royal, half grapefruit juice.

And they all came home this last December, safe and (mostly) sound. There have been some adjustment issues (on my brother's part as well), but I think they'll be all right. (My brother is ARNG, armor.)

Glad they all came home safe. Adjusting can be difficult. It's almost like adjusting to a different life again and it's very hard to explain to people...

Armor can mean alot of things but I'm glad for your brother (And you) that he is probably well protected. I'm in the aircraft business (Cargo) myself and we usually haul guys like your brother around with their equipment. They are always fun to talk with! They tell some great stories...

A snakebite is a new one to me...Sounds good though!

Of course, some people don't want an explanation, but that's another topic altogether. I, for one, am very thankful to these guys and what they went through. It wasn't their choice. It was their duty. And if people want to get all pedantic about it, I can offer them some lotion, some tissues and a closed door. *coughs* (Sorry. I get really defensive about this particular topic.)

Actually, they were in humvee's. My brother sat in the gun turret on top. Not quite well-protected. They didn't bring the tanks over until the rest of his division from Minnesota went over in... September or October of last year, I think it was.

That they do. :)

*grins* It's grown on me quite a bit. But alas, I am out of grapefruit juice! I'll just have to drink the Crown Royal straight, I guess.

I don't blame you for getting defensive Dizzy, I do too. Too many people are out there making demands about things they don't know anything about.

I'l bet I know some of the guys that flew them into their Forward Operation Base (FOB).

I hear that Crown Royal straight can be addictive!!! Ask your brother about a "Yeager bomb". I had some in Germany, they are fantastic!

Dizzy,

I wanted to tell you something else as well. When I read your latest story I was impressed with your discriptions of people/locations/feelings. Infact, it reminded me of the discriptions and choices of wording in the book I am reading, "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova. It's about a search for Dracula (I know, wierd.) Anyway, she does so well at putting the reader in the picture and while I read your story I was struck by the similiarities in writing styles. What I'm trying to say is that I really like your writing style Dizzy. I think you have the gift my friend!

Thank you.

(But then, maybe I am Kostova.) ... (or not)

Hmm... doesn't ring a bell. Why?

That's the book written by the Author who reminds me of you. Her name is Elizabeth Kostova. I think it's her first book published...Don't know if you'd like it though, but you'd like her writing stlye.

I also just read "102 Minutes" The fight to survive inside the Trade Center. It was great. I could hardly put it down. I was amazed at the details these people remembered. One man going down the stairs mentioned that someone handed him the last sip of a "Caffiene Free Diet Coke". Not a can of pop/soda but specifically what kind it was. It was an amazing account...

Good word earlier by the way...Pedantic...I had to look it up :)

Hope all is well with you out east and let your brother know I'm glad he made it back safe...We all need guys like him in the world, even though some people don't know it.

Take care Dizzy!
