I envy your dedication, seriously. Best I could do in any game was like 6 alts and 4 of them were left in eternal teens usually.

Oh, well. I'm an avowed altaholic. I get upset if there's a race/class/skill I can't do or gear I can't wear.

I also have 24 characters on Everquest 2 and about 15 on Everquest.

I've played all three games on and off for years and years and I've really only gotten one character in any of those games to the max level.

I like to mosey.

Right now I've got a nice groove of keeping most of my played characters 5 levels apart so I don't experience what I used to do - 20 characters at level 30. One of my extended vacations from Warcraft resulted from me looking around Desolace and thinking "If I have to kill one more centaur, I'm going to end it all."

But right now the burnout is also kept at bay by switching games often.

You are smart, I get to switch games only when I get totally bored with old one and then I hardly go back.
The exception is AO, that one I have been playing for years but I still never made more than 2 proper alts there. True is though that getting to fully geared 220/30/70 in that game does take years and then all I got as reward was endgame blues

I am missing AoC lately for some strange reason..... anyone around that played year ago and now and could tell me how big the difference is?

Every few years or so the last thing I want to do in the world is play a game and I tend to take off for 6 or 9 months and instead just read books in my spare time, get as far away from the computer as possible.

But then a game will come out with an expansion and I'll be back in and happily moseying.

I really do love the Paladin and Warlock epic mounts.

But I think the undead ones struck true coveting in my heart first.

I don't have any epic flying yet, just the regular ones.

I think the Kodos qualify for Spiderman weird.

They walk on walls. They don't bother changing elevation, they just...tilt to bizarre angles.

I don't like the mechanostriders.

Now a murloc with wings would be cool.

Socket bonus or not?

So there was an argument going on in gchat today about whether or not socket bonuses are worth it. I play a resto druid and most my socket bonuses on ToC gear is SP. So, my question is, do you guys socket your gear and get the bonuses or not?

I haven't really gotten to end game stuff, so I can't say.

I was surprised to see a lack of sockets on gear in WotLK compared to Burning Crusade. In fact the only ones I've seen are the item my blacksmith can make to put on her own gear.

i have a maxxed out JC & I use the hell outta him!!!

yes, the sockets help. They can potentially help a lot. What gem combo's you use depends on what role you take & how you play your toon.

(I tend to switch out gems ocasionally, especially if I replace a piece of gear thats a vast upgrade in everything but hit lets say. BAM!!! Slap in a hit gem & good 2 go!)

I was just annoyed by his lack of going for socket bonuses. He completely ignored them to go for all straight SP in everything. Ok but if you have no regen you cant heal that much right?

i ended up DROPPING quite a few of my SP gems for MP-5 on my priest when I started having mana problems.

a 50 or so point drop in healing isn't really noticable, a OOM priest in a boss fight is!!!

Well he started giving me shit about being OOM in the New Ony raid. First off I had 2k mana. I also have Solace of Defeated which gives me 16 mp5 for 10 seconds stacking up to 8 times. I dont run out of mana, plus a 3 min innervate? Im good. I out healed him and he STILL is giving me shit about my healing even though he has more SP because he doesnt go for sockets. Its like ugh...
