I have _a_ piece of socketed gear. Go me :p

Ok you guys are talking about the "holes" in gear one puts a gem in and gets the bonus if gems match colors?
I left WoW 2 years ago but as far as I remember my girls had something like 20 gems socketed at lvl 70. Ok most of those were +9s since +12s just got implemented and I didnt have time to replace them, but is that that or you talk about something completely new?

So if I would by some wild chance decide to play silly game again how fast would I have to replace my old purplez? I stopped at H Mgt and ZA level and I remember spending obscene amount of heroics badges.

this last expansion isn't quite as bad as BC (replacing all your gear with greens pretty much immediately), but you will be replacing gear pretty quick depending on what you are playing & drops/quests/5-mans

Ok I remember a guy coming in guild with pre-TBC stuff and he was doing fine, actually I dont think he replaced much until we started running him through heroics.
How do you mean "depending on what you are playing"?

well, my priest replaced gear pretty quick, but my Hunter took a while because the stupid quest rewards kept ending up being shaman gear

some are, but not me. yeah I have a 80 DK but I mostly use him fot his professions (herbalism/ inscription)

DK's are real easy to level tho

Everything is easy to level in WoW unless they changed something drastically :D
I never mind leveling when I have fun with my toon, but for some reason I seriously dislike OP classes. If I do roll one to try I go for the weirdest spec or something. I hate cookie cutters with a passion.

it is so easy to level a DK that I am thinking of making another one to fill up my missing skinning/ leatherworking professions ( I have a lvl 25 druid, with heirloom items, but the DK is still easier to level)

The only part I hate about the DK process is getting that stupid quest done in the basement without help. Husband had to do it for me twice. For the life of me I can't jump around the right way to get it done solo.

Aroo? Which one? The one with the forcefield or whatever?

That one. I couldn't do it to save my life.

I'm not a hoppy person. I don't play platformers for a reason. I suck that bad.

MIS, viv, and I did that one together, and I'm standing outside the forcefield, whacking everything, and wondering what all the fuss was about. They took *ahem* less damage than I did...

yeah, that basement quest is a complete & total pain in the ass! when I did that on my Alliance DK I had to grab someone to help me.

i also suck at jousting. i can do it, but it's ugly. I mean, it's Janet reno in a thong ugly!

Even doing it with two people is fine. My first DK managed it with a partner after a few failed tries solo. The DK starting area moves progressively and changes, and if there's nobody on that stage with you it sucks. My second DK was stuck there for days, logging in, logging out, trying to get it done, seeing if anybody was there. But my husband had figured out how to get it done solo and he finished it up for me.

It had to do with standing in exactly the right spot so you could pull the bad guy underneath the bubble with your pull spell. But I was always dead before I found the right spot.

before I do that quest again I am going to have to wowhead that quest to get that spot down

Yeah, I truly suck at anything involving jumping in a game.

Even if I saw him do it and I knew it, it was impossible for me to orient myself and get the boss targeted and get him right inside the field before I was dead. I'm always hopping around, stuck behind the crates, and then dead. Targeting everything BUT him, and then I miss and the timer's going to run out before I get the chance again.

He made it look so very easy. But it's stuff like that where even if I KNOW how it's done, I just don't have the coordination in game to do it.

There was a timed quest in Perfect World that he always took pity on me also, lots of jumping to get to and from something. Nice thing in Perfect World is that it's possible for his winged characters to carry me in their arms. We'd both rather that he carried me than for him to just control my character and do it himself. It was always a fun chance to romantic roleplay.

But that game kinda gave me one of those new opportunities to get hit on. Requests to carry me around that I had to turn down as often as I turn down duel requests in Goldshire.

That one for sure is a pain in the ass. I wont lie I have a DK at 71. Shes going to be my next character I level over the warlock because I just cant stand playing the lock anymore. She got so very boring. My mage is so much fun and arcane? Pffttt. *boom* goes the mob ;)

I LOVE ARCANE.

LOVE.

Best spec ever.

Uninterruptible caster with a damage absorption shield? THERE! I'm there.

I guess I was lucky, I did that quest the first day WOTLK came out and it wasn't that hard, involved spamming death strike.
