I wouldnt want yours, I want unused one *sigh*

Something tells me that many men that would dig pixellated birthday presents would also fall under the "unused" category..

That was a convoluted way to make a "computer geeks don't get much play" comment.

I know. I met that kind.
For some odd reason they usually hate me :(

Dont spoil the fun, its cute :p
Wtb a man who would be happy with pixel presents for his birthday, seriously...

Lol I know right?
And no Primalex we cant go a few posts without WoW but youre welcome to have more than one convo going and once. We are intelligent enough to follow it im sure.
;)

Checking out oblivion today, i've heard a lot of good things about Mart's Monster Mod (whole bunch of custom stuff that may fix some parts that i dont like), however its a hell of a pain to get running with Vista.

Also, got my copy of Space Hulk a couple of weeks ago and had a good few games of that. Downloaded an awesome ambient noise application (also doubles as turn timer) and we're off to a great start.

Also also, a girl i know and like is a closet gamer too! And she has baldur's gate (oh HELLS YEAH)

Hmm, strong woman with opinions and unwilling to fold neatly into immature geek fantasies?

Could be. And I am too good gamer to make them feel superior in any area.
What is funny, I find boys 20 to 25 yo admiring me, those over 30 openly hate my guts no matter what I do.
The rare 40+ dont even believe I am a female unless I play the most fluffy and helpless kind of healer.
And I have a fan club full of 15 yo knights in shiny armor hopelessly in love with me. Just horrible

Oblivion is awesome. Say hello to the Adoring Fan for me.

The new box was really fantastic. I'm boggled by the limited release though. I wish GW would quit screwing over the Specialist sort of products.

I've more than one or two of that sort in my time gaming. It happens.

Lol I hate that. I hate the girls that are the fluffy little ones who cant do anything by themselves in a game, expect the boys to come to their rescue then get all the damn loot because they play the stupid bimbo with the boobs.
Just ugh.

Ah yes, tell me about it...
AO is particularly bad when it comes to female gamers. Maybe the genre is not attractive for them (Sci-Fi) or maybe because getting really good gear takes lot of brain work (maths) and grinding, but that game is loaded with male geeks. Every girl that wanders in gets at least 10 sugar daddies at once. I havent met single one that isnt total attention whore, 99% run orgs (guilds) and try to rule the universe.
I havent seen many fluffy types there though, there is so little competition I suppose they can openly demand and get whatever they want.

I have to ask. Are you actually implying girls aren't good at math and brain work? Really?

Or that's how female gamers get along in a game, riding a male coattail?

Eeeew!

They dont seem to be in that game.
You wouldnt believe the kind of questions I get from some girls, makes you think wth is she playing, sure doesnt seem like the same game.
More than half of them are just coming along with boyfriends or husbands, that is the kind that most likely goes the healer path.
The rest.... dunno.... most of them make me feel ashamed I am female, seriously.

Okay.

I just don't wanna get in the same territory where I get when I hear some guy say stuff like "I'm too much man for all females over 40, maybe they're intimidated by my maleness" or some such.

Skirting the edge of that here and I'm wondering whether or not I need to be the generalization police. Defend the honor of males I love. Many of whom are over 40, gamers, kickass, and play a mighty fine social game.

Nor are they humoring me or equipping me because I'm either demanding, fluffy or I suck at math :D

I dont like generalizations either, but here I speak from (bitter) experience.
Mind, I said "most", I have some great female friends in that game.
The game itself is demanding, especially at higher levels, it has very steep learning curve and tons of data you have to dig through to find useful things. I know lot of otherwise smart guys that just cant find their way in twinking, its kind of game inside the game.

The thing is there are really too many girls I know that are demanding attention whores. And suck at math...

Well, then I'm counting my lucky stars in my female gamer friends and acquaintances as well.

The general consensus of many gamer girls is that either they are/or play very very well at the dumb bimbo blonde act to ride the coattails as you put it of many male players.

Not all females gamers do this, but im sure youve witnessed it over the time of playing WoW.

Then theres the other side of the spectrum like Stray Kat pointed out that some girls pull the dominatrix side of things and pretty much get what they want by bossing the boys around.

Its such a silly dynamic. I have found some pretty cool girlfriends in WoW but not many :p I prefer to sit in the comfortable middle of Dominatrix and Fluffy bunny :p

Its very silly dynamic.

I just like to play my game and enjoy every aspect of it, actually I mostly like playing solo and just chatting around. Someone said once that I treat my game as chat program (that was meant as insult but I see nothing bad in that).

I do admit though I got fooled by "fluffy" girl types more than once. I tend to be overprotective and "damsel in distress" always gets to me. But then I am bit sensitive about what you people here call "topping from the bottom" and I freak out when I notice someone is trying to manipulate me.

Dominatrix types are interesting. They tend to be friendly and fun as long as you follow them without complains. I always get in cat fights with those since I like doing things my way.
I am bad just as well, I like snatching their boy-toys from them. One of the most popular AO queens made dramas that amused community for days and finally quit the game over a guy.
He was worth the trouble though

Actually, I haven't experienced this. As there's no way to tell the actual gender of the real player unless you know the person, someone's chosen gender online doesn't mean it reflects the gender identity of the player.

In my roleplay career online I've known lots of guys who have sold themselves as ditzy girls, and lots of girls who sold themselves as alpha males. ALSO lots of older people selling themselves as much younger or younger people selling themselves as much older.

And unless you really, really, really get to know the person...you're never going to know which is which. I suppose Ventrillo has changed that a bit, but I don't use it, and I tend to be in the pure roleplay side of things.

I've met entirely kickass women and entirely kickass men, I've probably ignored the rest and didn't bother finding out more about them. But I've been surprised enough times by the "I thought I should tell you..." conversations that I'm fairly convinced a lot of the female characters running around are guy players. And a lot of the women running around are male players.

And a lot of the women who are sick of being treated like dumbasses just choose to play as male and avoid the whole issue. I've done it.

But I play on roleplayer servers for this reason really. I don't care much about who is behind the character, at least in a casual sense, just how well you play the character. I probably won't get beyond the most casual of exchanges unless there's something really there that's going to be intriguing. I have channels off. So I have self-filtering choices, I suppose. Entirely intentional.

So I tend to notice and get more in depth with someone busy defying a category or portraying one extremely well. I probably ignore the rest.

LotRO has inbuilt voice chat in game, and quite a good one too. People use it a lot and seriously you cant do lot of complicated group stuff without voice, typing is not an option lot of times.

I was surprised when I found out my GM in LotRO was a woman, she mostly used her male character. On the other hand her husband had all female toons. We had more than few chuckles with unsuspecting people trying to hit on him :D
