We've hit 88 already a couple days. 60's today. Next week we're back in the upper 70's, low 80'sWow. That’s pretty impressive that this is 3 feet tall.
It’s been pretty cool in the north east, about 10° below normal for the last month or so.
but warmer temps are on the way. Have yet to plant my beats, so that’s gonna have to be this weekend.
It’s weird, we’re probably just three or 400 miles north and we’ve been really really cool all springWe've hit 88 already a couple days. 60's today. Next week we're back in the upper 70's, low 80's
Looking to go camping in little more than a month in Virginia. Hoping it's not humid then yet. It’s weird, we’re probably just three or 400 miles north and we’ve been really really cool all spring

Deer normally stay away from marigolds unless they hadn't started smelling that strong yet. Sorry to hear about the flowers. These look great!!!
Thanks for sharing.
I have been growing marigolds from seed, and last night I brought them inside the garage because there was a freeze warning…
This morning they were all gone. I don’t think they were frozen, I think animals ate them….
So pissed. I started them three weeks ago….
Yeah, they were all too small, and they got eaten by something in our garage, because I brought them in one night when we had a freeze…Deer normally stay away from marigolds unless they hadn't started smelling that strong yet. Sorry to hear about the flowers.
Please do. Trying the shorter sunflowers this year. The 8 footers are too big for raised beds I have. Sorry about your friend Sally.I used to do a small garden of sunflowers every year and stopped a few years back to change things up. This year I am planting them again in honor of my friend who was recently killed. Her favorite flower was a sunflower and when she got married three months ago it was at a sunflower field. I feel like it's a small way to honor her and help in my own process of grief. I'll post pics as they grow.

I love this, thank you.I think that’s is a beautiful gesture to your friend…
We grow sunflowers pumpkins and gourds on our farm. You can feed birds with the sunflowers once they bloom, or you can take some of the seeds yourselves and use them for the next year.
That way, the thought of your friend will always be there, year over year.
Library here has a seed library. It's been more popular than expected.Thank you .
I'm planting dwarfs as well as some that are mixed in colors but no giants this year for me either. I'm excited to have them in the garden again.
I recently discovered that our public library has a "seed library". You can donate seeds and also take seeds and it's all free. Does anyone else have access to this? I think it's fantastic! I got my sunflower seeds as well as a few different herbs and veggie seeds there.
Gallager would be proud. Lol. There has been some to ask about a swap and there's a bowl for seed swapping if anyone wants to.I’m not sure if our library has a seed exchange, but we do a seed swap at work. (get your mind out of the gutter.)
People bring seeds and take seeds. Sounds like the same concept.
We like to get seeds from our marigolds, sunflowers pumpkins, and gourds. Harvesting the seeds is the most fun part and is a Christmas tradition for us with all of our leftover pumpkins.
Something got into ours two years ango and ate them all. Last year was decent and hoping for good luck this year.Betes grow faster than I thought they would. Gotten some good rain lately, hope it’s not too much
What kinds of flowers?I'm putting natives and pollinators in the yard. Lots of bees so far and hoping for butterflies and hummingbirds.
