Gardening: Plants, Flowers, Veggies, Trees and All Things Green

And here we have the purple clitoris. A special plant that will take over most anything and smells sweet and sweaty all at once. Lol

Exactly! 😆

I always call it the “climax.” My wife always rolls her eyes.

:D

I start my snowblower up once a month, just to keep the carburetor running and clean.

It felt like snow this morning, although only rain is forecast. It wouldn’t you know it, that motherfucker wouldn’t start!

That always makes me think it will snow a lot! 😂

I did get it running, which makes me think that it won’t snow now!! 😂😂😂

‘Won’t snow’ is key. So keep it running 🤭

I have a chipper shredder that does the same. Won't start when I need it, but will when I've done burned the piles.
Isn’t that the way it always is?

I got a new stihl chainsaw a few mos ago, and I could NEVER get it started. I googled it and it’s an easy fix and now runs like a champ whenever I need to.

Fingers crossed for power equipment running when you need it. And little snow…

Ok, but just a sprinkling

I noticed some daffodils poking up as well over the weekend. We are in New Jersey and it happens occasionally when there’s a warm spell.

But it’s surprising because it was brutally fucking cold two weeks ago.

Getting psyched! We are starting to plan some of our garden and landscaping projects!

Looking forwar to getting my stuff going also. Tried stuff in doors over the years but when i put in the ground... no luck...

I noticed my tulips are 3" tall after the little bit of snow we got. My grass has some green too. I am thinking to over seed now. A bit early this year.
I have an Ash tree behind the house that is sadly showing signs of stress. After that snow about the 10th of Feb or so all of the casings popped. It makes seeds before leaves and is on its way. Early to be cleaning up tree mess. The Oaks and Maples are still limbs vertical, so they have not started to pull in water yet. When I lived in Jersey and PA that was how I knew it was time. At some point in march most years the trees spread out like the limbs were heavy again.

We've had near 70 degree temps and trees are trying to bud out, but it's too early still. Buttercup and crocus are blooming. Tulips not common up, but then again I got 200 bulbs to plant. Everyone getting spring fever here. 50's for highs next week will shock some stuff. It's the 20's at night that might get a lot of blooms.

Beautiful flowers. I've been so busy, I didn't get any new bulbs in the ground yet. Got nearly 500 bulbs, but can't get a break on days off. I'm hoping tomorrow I can get them in and maybe have some come up

Weather has been below 60 for a few weeks and is not expected to warm up for the next few weeks. Still, signs of spring are emerging.

Daffodils and forsythia

Our very mature, cherry tree. It’s pretty windy today, but when the wind is calm, you can hear 1000s of bees inside the tree looking for pollen in the little flowers.

We’re going to start growing marigolds in our basement light set this weekend.
