I've pretty much given up on Star Wars. There are just too many movies of middling quality.
I really enjoyed the new DnD movie, though. I do agree that it could have been edited a bit more, and I do wish Chris Pine had at least pretended to move his fingers to different frets when he's playing his lute. But other than that, I had a fine time. I wouldn't mind seeing it again.
And to BG's question at the top of the page - best sci-fi sex scene has to be Kaylee & Inara in "Firefly." Though I don't know if that was an actual scene or just a dream I had.

Chris Pine could have not been in the movie and it wouldn't have mattered much. But I agree it was amazing. I was so happy I got to see it with my whole crew.

I disagree. He was kind of useless in helping the party get out of their various predicaments, but he was very much involved in getting them into those predicaments in the first place. Many events would not have happened without Edgin's involvement. It's not like a Raiders of the Lost Ark scenario where 95% of the film's plot would have happened anyway if Indy hadn't been there.
Or are you making a commentary on Chris Pine's abilities as an actor? In which case I still disagree with you, just more so.

I mean I would have preferred an actor who looked like he enjoyed being there, used any class ability, and wasn't the least fun part of the movie. The plot was clearly written around the character but he was upstaged by every single other character. The beat Ed scene was when he was a minor illusion.

It makes me sad that I can't really think of any off the top of my head. We definitely need more sex in sci-fi.

The more that I think about it, the stranger it seems to me that sexy sci-fi isn't nearly as big a thing as it probably could be.

Does anyone remember the comic book XXXenophile by Phil Foglio? All sci-fi and fantasy smut. I got off to that comic many times.

I've never heard of it, but I probably should have at some point.

A boyfriend once pointed out a scene in the show Enterprise with the lady Vulcan and the human doctor(?) with the southern US accent. I don't remember their names. It was set in a shower or something. I think it was supposed to be non-titillating to them, but the viewers at home were all agog at her super-pokey nipples.

This I do remember. They were in decontamination and they stripped down and put decontamination gel on each other. Fun stuff.

Heavy Metal comes to mind, but that's not really at all mainstream. There have been one off movies here and there that utilize sex. Species and Lifeforce are what I immediately think of. But it's not something that's at all common.

I saw about an hour of Species a few months ago on Showtime or something. Lots and lots of naked Natasha Hensridge for those who like those things!

Lol oh for sure. Me? Decades ago I went to see Wild Things with a friend. I got up to use the bathroom during the famous threeway scene.

First time I watched them was last year.
My mom still says it’s blasphemy

I couldn’t even finish the Hayden Christensen movies as much as I am a fan of his. Might have to revisit them at some point

But I loved Mando seasons 1 and 2.
Going to watch Andor next I think. Leave season 3 of Mando to when I’m fully bored
