No thats just it. God is the first and last! The bible sets it up from the beginning. You're right there is technically no good and evil until Satan enters the scene. He gives Eve a choice. She makes the wrong choice. From then on there is good and evil and choice to be made. Later on God defeats Satan by the coming of Jesus. He offers us a choice, an all important one. ANd that will lead us ultimately back to the state of Grace. And then there will be no good or evil once again. Ok you like literature and art, fine. That is of the moment. The lifestyle I refer to is the idea that you can choose your sexuality. No, one gay act is not going to destroy the world but it is an act that points away from what is. You say that using scientific means you can create children. Do you think thats ethical? Why not just clone people? WHy not manipulate people so that there was no difference between man and woman? WHos right is it to make these decisions? Also someone earlier referred to science. Well Darwin elegantly pointed out natural selection. Were humanity to use the tools of science to pervert natural selection, just to fulfill our own selfish desires (because we choose too), the consequences could be dire genetically. Trying to alter Gods creation is Satans will because it eventually leads to all death and waste. To chaos, and thence to nothingness. Homosexual acts have lead to homosexual unions which have lead to homosexual families, which is leading to the use of technology to try and engineer something that is just not the way things are. Its hard for anyone to be in a position to determine what is moral, I'd say only God is really there.

Yes, I think using science to assist couples (straight or gay) to have children when they are unable to have children biologically is entirely ethical. I see no reason why using the tools we have at our disposal to allow unhappy childless unions to be given children and made happy family units should be disapproved of. Nor do I imagine that using IVF is somehow a step toward human cloning.

I would say that humanity has moved well beyond natural selection and survival of the fittest long before the time of Christ. Every time a caring family looks after a disabled child who could never survive if forced to fend for themselves, they are defying Darwin's laws of nature red in tooth and claw and replacing it with human decency. Darwin never believed humanity should be forced into the struggle for survival, he just identified the way animals have developed to become the way they are or have died out.

Do people choose their sexuality? Do we choose who we find attractive? Who we lust after? Who we fall in love with?

Also, sort of side note, what is your position on people who are neither man nor woman, but born something of both?

Well Eve made the choice and thats the reality we know. Is it the wrong one? Well look around you do you see extreme suffering in the world? I do. I see that for most of us in the world life is full of pain and suffering and what good there is comes from good choices. Look at the natural world. Ever been into a true wilderness? I mean an almost untouched wilderness, remote. One thing you'll notice is that the animals are not afraid of humans. Is there suffering there, hard to say. My personal perception was no, even though animals consumed other animals it all seemed part of one glorious rapture. ANyway aside from that, humanity exited that glorious state of bliss.

So if you use the tools of science to come to unnatural results, why draw the line at Ivf? Should it become possible to clone and create our perfect partners whats to stop you from doing so? Can you see the pattern. The more that technology advances the more the answers we seek become about satisfying our increasingly specific and selfish wants. 50 years ago designer babies were not possible. Today? Maybe so. Tomorrow, maybe people start radically changing their bodies and faces. Hey I'm not supposed to be the one defending Darwin, but certainly there is an issue with technology possibly weakening the gene pool!

Anyway as to people born in between, well its Gods will. They must live and hopefully come to terms with it. I suppose their could be an element of choice there yes.
