Guys, do you ever have AH females (or males) hitting on you?

I think the main issues stem from his bullying treatment of Charisma Carpenter after she got pregnant.

Other than that I don’t know. It sounds like there’s plenty of successful directors and producers like him, some are good at their jobs and some are terrible. Hollywood certainly has an asshole problem, that’s for damn sure.
Yes, there are a hellava lot of assholes in Hollywood.
I've been blessed in my life to have met and talked to quite a lot of celebrities.
The very recently passed away Lance Reddick was one of my favorites.
I talked to Matthew McConaughey for over 15 minutes just about college football. He's a good looking dude. Asshole :LOL::LOL:
Patrick Dempsey still gives me shit about shaving my head, with his full of hair. LOL.
Amy Lee is a stuck-up bitch.
Hulk Hogan is a lying POS, and I took immense pleasure in telling him so to his face.
Dolph Lundgren was a complete asshole.
Most of the time, if you're polite they'll say Hello, take a picture, even have a brief chat if they aren't busy.

Hm. That article is behind a paywall. But googling whedon gal Gadot, all in can find is what he says he said ( to remove a scene she would have to tie him to a train track and do it over his dead body), and his claim she misunderstood due to language, and all any of the three articles I just read would say about her side of it was her saying that she understood perfectly. Ok but what does she claim he said?

That said, I don't particularly care about whedon either way.
She says he explicitly threatened her career. He claims she "misunderstood" him b/c her English isn't good enough and his language is "flowery." Neither part of his claim makes any sense. (She isn't that bothered about it currently, AFAIK, she claims to have taken the matter to Warner Bros. and that they handled it promptly. She mainly comes into the picture because of her stated solidarity with other actors who had bad experiences.)

Basically there has long been a culture in various industries that attract the "auteur" mentality where a bunch of people absorbed the idea that being massive assholes to people around them was necessary for "getting things done." It's a problem in Hollywood, it's a problem in commercial kitchens, and in plenty of other settings besides. It's taken a long time for people to call this out and say that no, actually, heaping abuse on your employees doesn't make you a Lovable Bad Boi Genius Auteur, it just makes you an asshole, and it isn't actually needed for "getting things done." That it's finally happening is a good development, I think.

TBF the only minor celebs I’ve met have been pretty far from assholes.

I guess the nearer the top you get the more risk there is of losing yourself.

Most have been quite nice and polite to me and my family.
I was video chatting a celebrity when my oldest daughters friend Chloe walked in.
She saw who I was talking too and damn near pissed herself with excitement.:LOL::LOL:

I have a drinking problem. Mostly that I fall over before I can drink as much as I’d like.

Em

You know you've drunk too much when you fly off the Lazy Susan in a chinese restaurant...

And I cannot recall anyone from the AH ever having hit on me. LOL. I have had some interesting emails from readers tho....

Me too... A few would make great `episodes' / cliffhangers in stories but then the readers would recognise themselves in them...
Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction!!

I had an eye opening experience one time at a gay bar. I had a friend who was (still is, I suppose) gay, and a couple of us went to a gay bar with him.

I was there just hanging out and playing pool and not looking. A guy was flirting and expressing his interest. Being straight, nothing was going to happen, and he wasn't aggressive about it. But it was eye opening for me. The shoe was on the other foot, so to speak.

A guy I know had the same experience and described it to me. All I could say was "Welcome to my world."

There is one AHer whom I've known for many, many years, and if things had been different in our lives we might have hit on each other. But that was long before we were on Lit.

In case anybody was wondering, that would be me.

It wouldn't be that great a story. It's just that while we've known each other for nearly half a century, every time I was in a committed relationship, she wasn't, and vice versa. So we never let it get any deeper than a cordial friendship.

Which is exactly where we want it, and where I foresee it staying in times to come.

Except they don’t have your knowledge or experience of that situation that you’re speaking of. That’s why I made the suggestion that way, although now I’m speaking of it I’m kind of convincing myself it might be worthwhile to do after I finish HOT AND FUZZY.

Please do. It won't be me writing it, since I'm of the same mind as Jehoram that it wouldn't be much of a read. I mean that while I could maybe write a story with that scenario, it would have the same dramatic impact as a series of missed appointments.
