It was much like what happened with Harry. Parents murdered in front of her, almost killed, Severus left her mind. He had began crying. Seeing hs le like tt, it wazoo much for him.

She felt him dive into her mind and she didn't get a chance to get him out, he opened up his eyes. "Severus?" Walking up to him she placed her hand on his back "Sweet heart what is it?" She didn't know his past to much since he wouldn't tell her and she wanted to go into his head but was afraid he would never forgive her. "Talk to me Severus"

He wiped away his tears. "Nothig, it just... I have never seen you lie that, so afraid, so defenseless. It is scary." He blew hs nose, and wiped his tears. "Let's continue. You read? Last tie, you didn't really do so well on keeping me out."

She smiled at him "Severus I'm not that little girl any more, I grew up and became what I am." She stroked his cheek and nodded. Sitting back down crossing one leg over the other, she closed her eyes and began thinking of a brick wall layers of the stuff. She concentrated very hard on it, she was hoping he would have a hell of a time getting through because she was afraid the next time she saw a memory it would be what Voldemort did to her, he would feel the pain of the killing curse. Pain of what happens if you live through it.

Severus concentrated, knowing Emily would be trying hard. "Legilimus!" he chanted. He entered her mind, but he saw walls. He pounded his fists on them, trying to get through. His pounds made the bricks slip off. They have no mortar! he cried. He knocked down the bricks, entering Emikys mind. But, e ad reached a bad memory. Vodemort was walking towards Emily. Severus, scared to death of Voldemort, was petrified in fear.the Dark Lord raised his wand, pointing it at Emily. Avada...

She felt him breaking the walls down, gripping the seat she could see the exactly thing. It was like watching her memory as a movie and she was watching it but she didn't want him to feel the pain. "No..." She said out and opened up her eyes as her eyes turned colors for a moment as she rebuilt the walls up into her mind, putting up the wall with mortar this time, even vines could be seen falling over and latching on. Trying even harder to keep him out.

Severus felt himself being pulled out of the memory. There were brick walls with mortar, vines latching on. Severus knew he didn't want to see the memory, but he had to to test how string Emily was. He grabbed onto the vines and Used them to climb over the walls.

She was taken back by what he was doing, so she had to get creative and when he reached the top she had in cased her memory in a cube of sorts. Walls surrounded the sides and even top and bottom of the memory she was hiding from him. She even began to cover it in ice trying everything she could think of.

She was being clever, it not clever enough. Severus grabbed the cube, and threw it on the ground, u leasing the memory. He was immediately at the point where he eft off. Voldemort had don't the curse. It hit Emily,mane all Severus felt was pain. He screamed in agony, he collapsed, and he left Eilys mind. The pain was still with him, it was too UCP, he fell out of consciousness. The last thing he saw was Emily rushing over to him, trying to catch him before he hit the ground.

She opened up her eyes she had been getting weaker and watched him "Severus!" She ran quickly and wrapped her arms around him right when he fell. She fell with him but in a way where she was okay. Cradling him she looked down at him stroking his cheek, she placed her hand on his chest and a white light surrounded his body a warm light as she took the pain out of his body that the memory would cause. "Come on Severus wake up" She said weakly and smiled.

Severus felt the pain slowly ebb away. He opened his eyes and saw Emiky holding him, pleading with him to wake up. He sat up, out of her arms. "The pain, it hurt so much! I'm amazed a child could have survived that! I felt like I would die!" He slowy stood up, leaving Emiy on the floor.he checked the time. "I think we have done enough Occlumency today. Class shall begin soon."

She looked up at him and slowly got up, she brushed a strand of his hair out of his eyes and patted his chest. "I survived because I was a rather loved child, I found strength in that. I want to die, I wanted to just let him take me out so I could be with my parents and be happy." Looking down as tears fell down her cheeks. "But she called to me to stay, so I stayed always alone. Until I met you, I guess mother was right I had someone to live for" She brushed away her tears.

The day was uneventful. Everyone was excited about the Ball. Severus and Emily breezed through classes, and still had half an hour before the ball began. Severus and Emily were slowly walking back to their rooms, to get their clothes and get ready. "Aren't you excited Meily?" Severs asked.

Emily smiled as she walked beside him and looked up at him. "People will probably talk if you have to much fun Severus" She chuckled happily. 'Yes I am excited, Ive not danced in many years. My father taught me how to slow dance before his death, so I don't have two left feet when I slow dance"

"That's. Great!" He opened the door upon their arrival and closed it behind tem. He rushed to jus closet and took out hs dressrobes. He ran to the bathroom and changed. Thankfully, his robes he had ordered arrived on tie, otherwise he would've had to wear his od ones, and they would have been the oldest robes in the ball.

She watched how fast he went to get dress, she on the other hand got into her own dress. It was a sky blue dress with a shawl that went around her shoulders. She had a pendent around her neck to show a doe and put her hair up in curls and looked at herself, didn't look like her but it was her. She stood looking out the window, taken back by the beautiful of the night.

Severus walked it of the bathroom, fully dressed, and their she stood, by the window, in that wonderful dress, looking so beautiful. It was amazing. "Wow, Emily, you look...wonderful. I can't even begin to explain how beautiful you look." he said.mshe looked amazing!

She smiled looking at the way he looked at her, she turned around slowly and grinned happily. "Glad you like it Severus, and you look gorgeous" She said happily as she walked up to him and wrapped her arms around him. Hugging him happily, sighing a little bit a grin on her face.

He grinned. "Well, we must be going down for the Yule Ball. Come on. The baby been alright for the day? You know, any kicking or whatnot?" Severus asked.

She made sure the baby wasn't showing and nodded "A few kicks nothing major, just so you know. I only let the kicking effect me when it's just us and in our room" She took on his arm and smiled. "Well Sir Snape let us go to the ball" She grinned happily at him.

He smiled. "Yes, let's." Hewalked out the door with her, and walked to the Ball. Severus saw students from one school with students from others. Some Durmstrang boys were with Ogwarts girls, some Beaxbaton girls were with Durmstrang boys, they didn't just stay with their school. It was wonderful that the schools were socializing. It was always good for wizas from different nations to be acquainted.

She smiled at him, she had done some things before tonight and looked at him. "I kinda have a surprise for you Severus, something is meant to happen at this ball. Something rather good, Ive prepared I got Dumbledore's permission of course." She said happily, she knew it was her way of expressing herself so the kids could understand her. And the professors as well.

He grinned. "Well, I can't wait until I hear it! Don't tell me what it is, I want other it use of at the ball. I'm so excited!" Severus found the ball room and entered with Emily. Almost everybody had already arrived, and most were just eating a bit. Severus knew the dancing wouldn't start until all of the champions started first. He silently stood there, holding Eilys arm.

She smiled and nodded to him it was going to be a song that she wrote, no one knew she could sing. And getting the surprise would be that she use to do this in America, she noticed that no one was dancing. "Think these kids need some help" She walked right up to the band and had them play her song that she gave them a month ago. The music began to play as a soft melody could be heard from her voice. Music had been her life for many years, and she wrote the song about Severus she hoped he would pick it up. As she sang she noticed that the boys picked there dates and began to dance. The fire on the torches turned into a blue color as she sang making a rather romantic feeling.

He grinned. He knew that, thanks to her song, everybody was dancing, including the champions. He walked over to he,r and holdout his hand. "May I have this dance?" he asked a sformally as possible. He couldn't believe that she could sing as well as everything else. She truly was the perfect woman.
