Have you noticed BDSM in the mainstream?

Ha...

Well thanx Hom, I think its a honor you'd consider this Jr dork in the ranks... *smile*
Stippers, there where strippers in the lesbian bar too,

...crazy coincidences...

Strippers are not usually extemely exciting to me either, I tend to find them repetitive as well as was the money spent, a waste...

But every once in a while I go out to a strip club by chance... Usually nothing exciting happens but last time, I had one of those moments myself...
....She was one of the goth ones, black hair, tight body, dancing to hardcore, wearing black shiny patent leather stiletto boots... her body as feirce as her sharp stare...
She made me question my stance on both strippers, and women when it comes to my sex life, in general...

LoL, funny how you think you know how you feel about something, like strippers, and then that one girl walks up and it all goes *out the window*...

I've made mention a couple of times - I think in the "Blurts" thread in the Café - about BDSM references in "Two and a Half Men" this season on CBS: one where Alan comes into the room with clothespins on his nipples and says something about there being "consequences" if he removes them; the other where Charlie and Alan's mother is wearing a schoolgirl outfit, and goes into her apartment saying, "I'm ready for my punishment, Headmaster!" (or words to that effect). I'm not sure - there may have been others, but I don't really remember.

CSI ... Lady Heather....

oh yeah, i loved her. watching on of the lady heather episodes on CSI was the first time i put masochism, submission, and sexuality together.

I love strippers!

They have to make it a performance and show some artistry though, not just take off their clothes and rub all over me.

*shudders*

Yay for strippers... and ropes... and Hom!
LoL

One of my favourite songs is MC Frontalot's "Goth Girls". It pretty well expresses my own personal lust for black hair, pale skin, absurd eye make-up, fishnets, etc.

While I'm not a big fan of watching them, I've spent enough time in such places to get to know a few (some days it sucks being a non-drinker. I've played DD I don't know how many times..). The ones that aren't on drugs can be a whole lot of fun.

And, yeah, had the get naked and rub non-performance when I went to strip club in Vegas. I'm thinking Vegas, the strippers should be competent, right? Nope, booooring.

Damn Hom!

So we have the same taste in strippers...
I like the goth ones, but also, I like the ones who can actually dance or do pole tricks... pole tricks are the best...

I don't see why strippers think they could slack on the stipping... I wouldn't hire a waiter that didn't serve or a cab diver that didn't drive... and they don't call them "rubbers" they call them "dancers" or "strippers"... right?...

*Has a problem with the fact that strippers have touched me unprovoked the last two times I was around strippers

**almost got in a fist fight with a male stripper because he assaulted my friend since childhood,

We unknowingly walked into a nite club that had male strippers that night, and why do they think they can just walk up to a person and throw her into the air and put his face in her pussy... is beyond me,

I will NEVER go see male strippers again, and I am not even a huge fan of female strippers, but they aren't anywhere as bad as the men with the unwanted attention, I don't see why wanting to see someone dance and strip makes you want them to violate you and your personal space,

but... apparantly my best friend J says every male review she was at was just like that... which would have been fine except the girl he did that to was raped over and over as a child by her mothers boyfriend and was deathly afraid of strange men... and was screaming and pushing this 200 lb man off her pussy... poor girl...

Well I knew if I hit him I'd go back to jail... so I grabbed his pants while he had his hands on her and pulled them down to the floor, BOTH PAIRS... the cold air hit his little weiner and he put her down instantly, I told him she was with me and he could go fuck himself.

He told me he was gonna have security throw me out, I told him he seemed to think he could put his filthy fucking hands on my girl and the MC on stage said we could do anything we wanted to the strippers, so he derved it

But I told him I would see myself out. I would have never done that to a woman stripper, but a woman wouldn't have done that to me friend either, and that guy had no idea why he shouldn't touch my friend like that... but... I believe contact should always be consentual... some strippers don't know what it means to be a stripper...

I've never had this issue watching male strippers, but then I go watch them at gay bars on quietly mixed nights. They could give a rat's ass about me at that point.

I like male strippers but I've not seen any in quite a while. When I did see them, they actually put on a show, complete with music, costuming and dancing all of a theme.

I always positioned myself well back. I didn't want to be touched. I never was until someone hired a stripper for my bachelorette party. That only confirmed to me how much I don't want to be touched.

I think the whole stripper industry, like so many, has gone through a dumbing down. They want to do as little as possible for as much money as possible. Money comes from the tips and lap dances. *gags*

I typically gave money to others who wanted to be touched to tip. It was amusing to watch some lose their fucking minds at a show.

It's likely that except for Dita Von Tease, The Pussycat Dolls and other skanky shows by pop stars, the art is gone from stripping.

That's so sad.

I thought staying in the back would work...

We where in the back, they even came up to us and asked us to go up front, and we didn't move, so the guy came and picked her up, I don't know why he felt like he could do this... but they told us we where the best looking girls in there so we shouldn't be in the back...

I was still trying to get someone to explain to me why someone would tip or pay, when, Dick is free... I mean guys pay for pussy all the time, but I don't pay for dick, and these guys wherent dancing for their tips... so why tip them?

But the bartender told me that the kind of girls in the front row where ones who had to pay... I don't know... its a mystery to me...

Yes... Dita Von Teese... mmm... my point exactly, a girl like her makes me think I'd marry a stripper... listen to me I have lost my mind...

That's some strange bitchiness from the strippers and management IMO. They really don't deserve the business or the tips disrespecting their audience like that.

The girls in the front are often cute and beautiful. It's not about looks or having to pay, it's about personality and wanting to be touched or touch.

That really pisses me off that the strippers and management would say all that shit.

I do think some strippers have a great deal of anger that they color their acts with in ways that aren't always sexy or pretty though.

I'm not into that.

Most people think you guys are weirdos. Because most people have had their asses spanked as children and dont hanker to do it some more.

Yep, we're weirdos. I'm fine with being a weirdo. I have lots of weirdo friends, and we enjoy ourselves. It works.

All that's missing is the triple pointed hankie.

I saw Her on Nip/Tuck

~Back to BDSM in the Mainstream~

I saw the Domme on the Nip/Tuck commercial tonight...

I need to expirience a Domme... oh... which brings me to another question on the same topic,

Why is it more mainstream or socially scceptible to be a Domme than a Dom?
I live in a place with no scene really... and I have worked with a woman, who openly said she was a professional Domme... but I have never even talked to a male who admitted even liking it, let alone was a Dom, I gather this may be because most Doms don't talk about it, but isn't that because it is less socially acceptible for men?

What do you think??

I honestly don't watch that much television, but I know in porn shops it's easy to find porn with Domme's, but rare to find it with Dom's.

i think that speaks to the fact that the majority of heterosexual porn is made for the male viewer.

There are some great gay male BDSM pornos out there. MUCH more realistic than the het. crap.

Tonight's TNT show, Saving Grace, started with Holly Hunter bound/cuffed to her bed, laughing as her lover wrote things on her body.. thought it was all well and good.. her phone rings..he splits when he finds out she's a cop... leaves her there.

Now the premise to the show is that she's visited by this angel named Earl. Well Earl appears, sees her like that, leaves her tied like that.. I'm still thinking everything's god.. they're not showing it in a negative light.. until... until...

the angel tells Grace that she needs to look at the way she lives her life.. that she's crying out for help and needs to figure out why...

so much for positive..

BLUSHING

Dont get so comfortable with the lifestyle that you forget how most people are. The conventional wisdom defines BDSM as weird. My nice, liberal newspaper had a carnival with a couple they learned were master-slave.

The cops busted them for prostitution (she was making money for her master), and they let it slip that the prostitution was okay because she's his slave. They were a bit too unplugged from the conventional wisdom.

Oh my God if it wasn't for the reminder I'd forget again and tie my husband to the meter outside when I go shopping. Thank you sooooooo much.

Its nice

I understand supply and demand with the whole porn thing, I would just think there would be a lot of amatures wanting to record themselves "playing" and put it online... odd that there isn't...

I think the reason it is more socially accepted to be a Domme(IMO, in the society we live in today) is for many reasons, one of which being (this won't apply to gay men obviously) I think men (mostly but women too) aren't as threatened by a woman in a dominating position sexually. Whereas a man who openly talks about being a Dom and a sadist would be villi-fied... and I think that comes from mostly from peoples incorrect idea of what BDSM is and what it entails... and that women are viewed as nurturers and mothers (we punish, but dry your tears after) However, though men give aftercare, mainstream people don't know that, or even what it is...

I have to admit to everyone, I don't watch a lot of Tv... I watch Nip/Tuck, House or anything by Joss Whedon (firefly lately), maybe the occasional MTV or VH1/BET for videos... and History channel ( I like stuff about underground cities, OH and they have a series on torture that was completely shocking and very interesting) So I don't see any of this network stuff, I feel like I am missing out...

You mean like it's "more acceptable" to be lesbian.

Which means more likelihood of violence against you, poverty, breast cancer, medical malpractice, but everyone on TV thinks it's sexy and cute for you to get it on.

Or hell gay men are really trendy. Really really trendy. As long as they're rich, white and pretty. And have their own TV show. But if a guy comes onto me I'll totally kick his ass, man.

Um, there's nothing socially acceptable about being a FemDom, maybe dressing in fetish attire....

Please people, please please, do not mistake "wants my advertising dollar" with "thinks I'm cool." Maybe JBJ isn't wrong, just has no sense of subtlety on this one.

Subtle is ego-dystonic with me.

In fact I have a business idea that oughta be popular with lotsa folks. People will subscribe to a service where mystery observers send them anonymous emails when theyre getting fat or old or haggard looking or dress in carnival-poster colors. They can get an objective opinion about the new "doo."
