Help! My domain is being held hostage!

THE GLOVES ARE OFF!!!!

I just send this e-mail to Resurser.com. Now it gets REALLY interesting...

I've asked you to remove all locks on my domain, "pollyjuice.com". You have not done so.
I've asked you to reply to my e-mails, to answer my questions. You have not done so.
I've asked you kindly, then politely, then sternly, to remove all locks and to answer my questions. None of it has helped, proving that your statement on your website about "Fast and friendly customer service" is a load of BS.
Now, as my patience has run out, I must inform you that unless I got a favourable reply within 48 hours, I will use my company to bulk email every news group daily, informing them of the rip-off you're purpetrating, also post in 'reader's letters' and inform all the computer magazine editors I can find, asking them to warn their readers to take care if using your company. I will also inform enom.com of your con.

Remove the locks on my domain, "pollyjuice.com".

24 hours, and no news. They're playing hard ball, eh?

Ha! No-one beats me when it comes to playing with balls!

Their time is up. It's been 48 hours, and I haven't heard a thing from them. Tomorrow, I'll start sending out mails to all computer magazines I can find, telling them the whole story. I'll also contact enom.com, and tell them what has happened, and ask them to take the locks off.

Resurser.com don't know just how big a mistake they've made. Us Swedes may LOOK nice and cheerful, but we're also incredibly stubborn and testy when someone annoys us. We were once the leaders of most of Europe - and now it's time for another war...:catroar:

Enom-com has received an e-mail with a detrailed description of what has happened. I've sen similar e-mails to several large computer magazines. I've sent another e-mail to Resurser.com to inform them of this.
This is the lame excuse of an answer I get:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
recipients after more than 72 hours on the queue on server.supplyhosting.com.

The message identifier is: 1BxWEp-0007d4-Vk
The subject of the message is: Enom.com has been notified.
The date of the message is: Wed, 18 Aug 2004 19:11:53 GMT

The address to which the message has not yet been delivered is:

Delay reason: mailbox is full

No action is required on your part. Delivery attempts will continue for
some time, and this warning may be repeated at intervals if the message
remains undelivered. Eventually the mail delivery software will give up,
and when that happens, the message will be returned to you.

Looks like they've jumped ship. This is a normal "I can't find the address you requested this message go to" reply from the email system. Which means they have removed the address, and probably their whole operation. You might check to see if their web site is still in operation.

Do you know of anyone who can preform Denial of Service attacks? That would be priceless. :D

If they have pulled the plug on their operation, only following bankruptcy court documents or maybe company name change documents would give you an idea of where they go. These types of things are only available in the local area where they are.

I've had a somewhat similar situation where I purchased a program on CD. It failed to stand up to the advertising on their web site and in magazine ads.

Unfortunately, if they pick up and move to another domain, changing name and address, you could be out of luck. This is a normal thing in hit and run business practices.

In the old days, it was companies selling things to kids on the back of cereal boxes, i.e. those sea horses and don't we all remember X-ray glasses and pens that write in invisible ink? And, if you are old enough, the Dick Tracy items, such as decoder rings with the secret message lights.

They would prey on kids to send in their $3.99 and 5 box tops from the cereal package to Battle Creek, Michigan.

The only thing that seems strange in your case is the small amount of money involved here. Maybe it would soon add up, as time went by, and you're lucky to have found out about these guys so soon.

Trouble is, they will land somewhere else, start up the same kind of thing, and do it all over again. A different name, but the same unscrupulous business practices. :(

EDITED to add:

I just now saw the "mailbox is full" notation. This doesn't really change anything of the above, but it could also mean you're not the only one they've spammed (DUH), and finding these people could help you gain friends and shut them down for good. But, this takes time and persuit, so like I did, you might end up just cutting your losses and moving on.

I know you're still dealing with the registration situation, and you can still try the 'round about method to fix that, but it doesn't seem like they are going to help you. Then, I could be wrong, too.

Ever thought of sending them a malicious virus laden email? LOL

That rather sounds like a one man band to me, but at least you have a different email address for "S Smith".

Edited to add Did you think of complaining to the Chamber of Commerce and the local newspaper in White Rock, British Columbia?
