It's wonderfully nice to have been missed, and I thank you all for your kind thoughts and words. I was away at a relative's wedding this weekend, and what with the wedding taking place on another continent and all, I've been a touch busy. I had intended to post some sort of "I'll be back in a few days" comment, but it all seemed so egotistical that I dithered about it until my net died and took the choice from me.

On the plus side, it was a truly great wedding - once I'd met the bride's relations from Sligo, I had all the fun I could handle. Between them and the others, we had some genuinely amusing characters - a charming and voluble drunk with an owlish dedication to careful pronunciation, a handsome young doctor *well* aware of his standing with the ladies and aparerently on a mission to test this with all of them, a dashing best man who was made a Scottish lord at the reception, and a dinner at which we all had to accustom ourselves to the phrase "please pass the goose fat." And, of course, a slightly drunken horse. What more can one ask?
