It's larger and heavier than the one Kbear posted. It wouldn't conceal as well as the Ruger. But it lives near the bed at night and creates the sense that I could make holes in unwanted visitors. It's also really fun to shoot and James Bond and Adolf Hitler both used it in a lighter caliber for good purposes, Bond to shoot bad guys and Hitler to off himself.

I haven't explored the family gun cabinet in years (that sounded way dirtier than was intended) but after my dad offered me my pick, I'm going to have to figure out what's in there. And then practice with it for a while. I'll report back as to what I choose.

There's a safety on the Walther, but its most handy use is as a de-cocker. No real need for one on a double action auto, as far as I can tell. Same as a revolver that way.

Those are both on my wish list. I have a list of maybe six or seven guns I want and that will be enough. After that anything I buy will be purely for the fun of it.

Got to shoot another one on my list the other day, the Winchester Gunsite Scout (.308) and I fucking loved it, too. And shot a one-inch group at fifty meters with no scope as soon as picked it up. That rifle, says I to its owner, loves me better than you.

Reposting from the blurt thread, because these posts reminded me that I wanted to share my pleasure in the fact that I finally bought my very own piece, a Smith-made Walther PPk/S stainless in .380. I fucking love this thing.





I was reminded because before I had the chance to buy the Walther, I had been planning on picking up that very gun there, the LCPLS...and the guy who sold me the Walther did so because he got one.

When we went to the rang the other day to play and make the exchange, he also had his newest purchase--you listening, Marsupial Nuts?--a Kimber with a crimson trace grip. Lots of fun shooting that as well.
