While the 1911 is my CCW if choice I would take a .22 over being unarmed anyday. I have the conversion kit for my 1911 so I can put hole sin paper all day without going broke.

What is it that everyone loves so much about the 1911?

I guess. I sort of feel the way you do about them.Full size 1911 for carry? why?
idk... nostalgia? I mean don't get me wrong they are good weapons but there are better for carry/combat/duty etc.
I won't argue with the .45 though. It packs just as big if not bigger punch as a 9mm or 40cal (all ammo/weapon dependent) and get's plenty of penetration (through clothing) but over penetration isn't quite as big of a concern.
However through anything solid like glass/wood/car doors etc it looses a lot of effectiveness. Answer? 10mm....it dose everything.
Dependable, no flash, just results.![]()

Why no flash?
That's funny coming from Mr. Polished up n' carbon fiber

It's all about the image.

The carbon fiber will go on the R1 since I added a magwell to the Kimber and need new grips on it.![]()
That was when you chambered the Kimber for .223, right?
I guess. I sort of feel the way you do about them. Aren't 40 and 10mm damn close to the same thing?
Why no flash?
That you, John Wayne? /Joker from Full Metal Jacket
Pretty damn close except 10mm tend to have a bit more speed and it sends their kinetic energy level up quite a bit.
But if the zombie apocalypse happens it's easier to find .45 ammo.![]()

Pretty damn close except 10mm tend to have a bit more speed and it sends their kinetic energy level up quite a bit over the shorter 40 cal.
That and it is expense as hell...even when compared to overpriced .45
That's why I only have 1 10mm and 3 45's![]()
they're similar, but .40 is much more prevalent than 10mm.
10mm didn't take off like people many people thought it would...
If I was going to get into an oddball caliber, I'd go with FN 5.7
Damn! Now I need to go buy 2 more .45's to keep up.![]()
