Hey, gun nuts!

Okay, I have a "naïve shotgun guy" question. I have a Rem 870 with 3 barrels; a trap smoothbore with a vent rib, I think it's 26", a rifled "slug barrel", and an 18" smoothbore that I bought so I could feel all badass and tactical and shit. The question relates to the rifled barrel and ammunition. I see rifled slugs and what I think are not-rifled slugs. Is there anything I need to know re: loading rifled slugs in a rifled barrel? Like, is that something that makes sense to do, or what?

I think the smoothbore slugs are saboted and the rifled aren't. I don't have any experiance with slugs. Maybe it says on the box.

On a side note, my uncle picked up a repro gatling gun. I'm all sorts a jealous. Hopefully hell get the carrage done over the winter so we can play with it next year

It's a little surprisingly confusing to me.

I wanna come crank it! Where do you live? I'm so there.

Me too! I'm in michigan. Guess it was the prototype for the ones used in the last samurai. Its missing some parts and we gotta make shells still so its a project

50 rounds each at the range just now:

.308: My groups are solid. She shoots a little high and right. Rather than adjust the sights, I adjusted my aim and blew the center out of multiple targets. Kentucky windage!

.380: The PPK/S still chokes a lot. Maybe 5 or 6 misfeeds out of fifty. I may yet send it to Interarms and tell them to make it work. Still, it's super accurate, and I can group an inch or two at ten yards with it when it goes bang. It's comfortable and intuitive and light and small and safe, a perfect carry gun.

9mm: The LC9 eats anything I feed it happily. Still getting used to that long DA trigger pull, but most of the time I can get it to hit what I aim at. Occasional flyers from the long pull. But she shoots sweet and cycles every time, and the laser is just icing.

AR prices are back down to normal and everything is in stock. Picked up a S&W M15 MOE Mid Magpul yesterday for 400 off retail (discount for Vets on Veterans day, imagine that).

New Trigger and a Eotech and I am done.

The one thing I really.....really dislike about living in CA....the faggot ass gun laws.

Totally fucking obnoxious amounts of STUPID fucking bullshit, idk who the fucking RETARD is that wrote the gun laws here but shame on them, and the moron who put the most gun ignorant mother fucker they could find in charge of regulating them.

Zeroed it yesterday with cheap federal, then proceeded to run a little over 150 rounds. Not a single misfire.

I zeroed it at 50/200. The drop I was getting at 300 was less than a A2.
It came with all the Magpul upgrades, but they are not the best accessories and I'm thinking I should have bought a base and did my own upgrades.

The Trigger is good enough not to change...which is rare for most AR's.

I will change it anyway, but thats just me.

Some people/states don't have their priorities right...

That's pretty fuckin' hooah.

Nice...I'll give them a look when I'm not in CA anymore. I usually take some stones to my trigger assy, just b/c I have them and I'm too cheap to not use them, but a new one will work too.

SAW's talking....203's thumping.....m14's picking off stragglers and movers....counter ambush ops...kill EVERYTHING ftw.

We were in a green cycle and as I could not pull funeral detail I got stuck running a 203 range.

At the end of the day you can call in ordnance to pick up excess rounds, wait fucking 5 hours, or just call in you have none.

You can guess what a few thirsty GI's did.

As we are blowing of the last of the rounds a 300 lb sow and her piglets decide to cross the range.

To say there was little left of that poor pig family would be a understatement.

A day at the range.

5/50 isn't bad for a first timer (I'm assuming first timer w/shotgun as well). Practice, practice, practice.

Iron sights of course

200m eh? Not bad...if it was a pistol I'd be impressed as hell. :D

Yes! I've only shot slugs with a shotgun at a target in a regular pistol range before that. It's very different! I have a bruised and sore shoulder today :(
