Yes! I've only shot slugs with a shotgun at a target in a regular pistol range before that. It's very different! I have a bruised and sore shoulder today![]()
My wife wants me to teach her to shoot. I don't know if I should be excited or scared.
Better than a pair of scissors or kitchen knife while you sleep.
She wanted to rent a gun because she said my revolver kicked too much. Its a .22 single action. Short of buying a semi auto .22 I doubt there's anything that'll kick less. Maybe I should start her on a bb gun
Good grief...a .22? I like a .45 with extended mag. I shoot to kill...not maim!
I saw that...but it says "Police Positive .38 Special" on the barrel, and the serial number doesn't match those on that page for that model.
Urgent 2nd Amendment Alert
If you would like to know how a group of underground, true American Patriots are building their own AR-15’s at home completely “off the books”.
Meaning ...
•No serial number ...
• No registration ...
• And 100% legally ...
... with just a handful of tools and simple, inexpensive parts in their garage, then simply watch this urgent video now:
Okay, people who know more about guns than I do, speak to me of the "ghost AR-15." I keep getting this email from some whacknut saying the gubmint is a-comin' fer me guns and I need to watch this video to tell me how to build my own AR-15 with no serial numbers, etc, etc, no one will know when I make large purchases of .223 ammo that I have one, etc, etc.
What's the deal?

It is possible, although I have to question as to whether it's worth it or not. You can purchase AR-15 uppers and lowers, stripped, partial, or complete, without going through an FFL dealer. But the manufacturer/shipper still has your info.
If you're caught with it in an illegal situation it's immaterial whether it has a serial number or not, you're screwed either way.
Purchase through private treaty is probably your best bet. Most folks shit can their records after a couple of years.

Thanks, Ish. More or less what I figured. Somebody has to make the damn things and ship them. I'm not sure what the point is, though I guess in more nanny state areas there might be a reason. As far as I can tell in VT, I have the same benefit after a few weeks if I just buy a gun normally. Private sales just disappear, unless someone wants to put a lot of effort into figuring out what Jonny did with Grandpa's shotgun.
If you really want to do the 'pieces/parts' thing you can usually find a local dealer that will sell you the stuff at pretty near the same price and if you pay cash there is no record at all.

A project for someday, I'm thinking. Along with an MGB and a pair of snowshoes.
What kind of snowshoes?
I dunno. I haven't researched it yet, but I was thinking of doing it from start to finish in whatever tradition was indigenous to my local forest. I'm sure there's someone around here who specializes in such stuff.
In gun news, I need to get to the range and zero the new scope on the .308. Heading for Maine next week and I may have to assassinate some beavers.
