Why?
Because I am deprived, that's why! The most exotic thing we've ever had in our teeny, tiny grocery store...and I am not kidding...is broccoli. I even sucked up my pride and paid the eight dollars for one small head. The lady at the check out didn't even know what it was.
(Well, my daily fare is probably exotic to most people but after your 200th starfruit, they don't seem that special at all).
I do, however, have wahoo, which I am now going to cook and eat and so I bid you all good night. And ka kite!

Mostly the guy just looks goofy to me. I'm not sure how the leap gets made to gay.
I always suspect the most rabid anti-gay folks of secret urges. You know, in an American Beauty kind of way.

Oh, yeah - definitely deserved best picture.
Kevin Spacey was unbelievable, but really the whole cast was good.
Speaking of movies - have you made it out yet to see Slumdog or Milk?

Milk will be fine on DVD. Slumdog will not be remotely the same.

I wish I could join in with the chefs but we don't have cable. I miss the food network!! I remember Alton Brown, he was one of our favs and Paula Deen cracked me up! I find a lot of recipes on allrecipes.com

Milk is a biographical movie about Harvey Milk, a 70's activist who was the first openly gay man ever elected to public office in America.
Sean Penn, in the title role, is phenomenal. For the history, and the insight into extraordinary political activism, and an uplifting story about the human spirit, I highly recommend this film.
The plot of Slumdog (which I had heard ahead of time) almost kept me from going to see it. On paper, it just sounded dumb! But the movie itself was a wonderful suprise. Really, really well done. I was genuinely happy when it won.
