How cliquish are we, really?

You will find that we are very cliquish here. We only allow people. Occasionally we have some issues with PETA over this policy but we just can’t let everything in. Can you imagine the amount of bandwidth a great dane would take up? No, we have to draw the line somewhere.

But due to the experience I had the one time I tried to be a regular on here I had to vote very cliquish.

It seemed to me, and this is just my opinion, that the people here did not want a newbie at the D/s scene around at all. If I stated an opinion on the scene I was very quickly piled upon for having such ridiculous and uninformed thoughts. The only response in the mind of the regulars was ridicule.

So I left. Don't miss this place at all.

Ironically enough, I felt the same way over on the AH and story feedback boards. You'll note that when I had a concern about plotting and such, I didn't go over there to ask. I posted it here in the non sequitor thread.

This is not meant to be a bitchy, flash back post. I point it out because we have such very different perceptions. I came into the bdsm forum and posted "noober" all over myself and asked questions and made observations and for the most part, people were cool with it. Now I do still lurk over on the AH and read and enjoy the wit and such over there, but I would never delurk to post. I was very tempted to post in the Colleen Thomas Memorial, but then backed out. Colleen was always very nice to me, and we had several conversations via PM.

Okay, I had a point here...

I think that a great deal of the clique perception depends on our own personalities. Mr. Graham felt that the forum was very cliquey when he came in, and I didn't. I felt the AH is cliquey to the point that I never really bothered to delurk because I was too intimidated. (I think I might have one or two posts over there, but I'm not going to go look.) He found a virtual home there. Maybe we should both give the opposite forums another shot.

Posting means that someone is not gonna like it. And they will do their thing in response. If you or anyone else cannot take it, then by all means pick up your marbles and go home. It's called freedom to choose.
