I started on the site originally because I just wanted to read.
But I recently decided to submit something and I dont want my actual name up.
Is there any way to change my name?

I'd suggest just creating a new account. All you need is another e-mail address, and if you don't have another one, Literotica has its own email - access it from the menu page or just literotica.com. All free = )

Chicklet's right--it's very easy to create multiple accounts. Literotica email accounts are a bit problematic at the moment, however--see Manu's post on the subject in the site announcements. On the plus side, a free account at Hotmail, Yahoo, or elsewhere will work fine.

So your real name is Arthur King but you want to change your name so that you don't get your name associated with the stories you want to submit... Uh hu!

You could call your self Martin Luther King Jr and start your stories with, "I have a dream!"

Or you could call your self BB King and start the stories with, "Makin' Love Is Good For You!"

Or you could go with Larry King and remind the world, "Good writers are in the business of leaving signposts saying, "Tour my world, see and feel it through my eyes; I am your guide.""

Or a last one from the movie King Arthur (2004),"Deeds themselves are useless unless they are for some higher purpose."

I never get why people never want their name shown. Its your name, do we all need a secret alias on a form about sex?

Andrew Brethauer <----my name

There, don't feel bad, people know me now.

No, but some of us feel that we need an alias on a forum about sex. :)

Google's a powerful tool. If I decide to go back to work when my youngest child is a little older, I don't particularly want prospective employers to know that I like MFM threesomes, fisting, and good hard ass-poundings. I'm not ashamed of my sex life, but I don't feel the need to invite people to stalk me or make my life otherwise complicated.

Eilan <-------- Not my real name

This form vs forum thing is annoying. On one board it is forum on another its form. Get it right someone.

And sorry, but I got to say that was a bad example you used. There is no way a employer is going to google your name to see what you do. I am sure they have better things to do with their time. Plus again, why care? Think about it. You will tell complete strangers about your sex habits, and what you like, but god forbid someone finds out who knows you. Does that not seem weird to anyone else?

I don't know where you go when you're online, but every site that I've been on that has a message board refers to it a forum or a discussion board. In fact, the dictionary definition of "forum" supports this notion. You're an English major, so I'll assume that you're more than capable of looking that up on your own. :)

The only thing wrong with my example is that you're too naive to "get" it. Just because you've never heard of it happening doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.

You don't pick up a newspaper very often, do you? Apparently you've missed recent media coverage about the growing popularity of blogging and social networking sites. More and more employers are starting to check up on prospective employees through blogs, social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook, and other online venues. Lots of people take the time to Google people they just met and/or are interested in dating. Why wouldn't an employer do the same?

While it might be cute or cool to post stories or pics on Lit or in a blog, it's probably not a good idea to do this and associate it with your real name. Most people don't make their Lit alias their real name, so it's mostly a nonissue. If someone finds out who I am through my posts or through my occasional self-av, I'm not going to worry too much about it because they were obviously here as well. However, I don't see any point in inviting trouble by plastering my real name all over this board.

The reality is, the general population isn't as open-minded about sex as the people on Lit are.

Amen sista! There are way too many holier than thou idiots out there in the real world who will track you any way they can, and when they find you somewhere they don't think you should be, will take great pleasure in pointing out to the world where you were and what they say you were doing.

The fact that they found you or knew it was you on a video is beside the point in their minds, you are having fun in a world they don't think you should be, and they will be happy to make you pay if they can.

I find it more than just naive to put your own name to this or just about any site.

No I am not ashamed about being here, but that doesn't mean I want to shout it from the church roof either.

You people and saying "Your an English major" bullshit. No shit its a message board, but there are two names which people do refer them to. Don't jump on my ass, I never made it up. And just so you know, here at Lit people have said to me when i called it a forum it was a form, so go bitch to someone else.

And I do read the paper, just here in Canada we don't have the same issues with ID theft as Americans do. I will take it as being an adult who reads the paper you should be more clear about world issues and different nations, and don't need an english major reminding you of that. I have not heard yet of anyone searching for someone of google for a job applicants personal information so I would ask you to site your source on that since I haven't read it. Not to be smart, just it would be nice to know if I ever apply for a job. Of course, if that is a reason why I don't get a job, I wouldn't work there anyway. I am well aware of the uprise of blogs and personal sites. My generation is obsessed with them, and I get sick of it.

Also got to remember to look at it from an English Major point of view. The more people who know my name, the more people may recongnize a book I write in the future.
